Newcastle City Council are encouraging local residents to take part in a consultation that will look at the housing services in the city. LNER have said they are planing to operate 6 addition trains on the morning of the Great North Run to allow easier travel to the run. And finally a cat had to be saved from a shipping container by the Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue Service after it had got itself wedged in.
