00:00 May I just add a word of thanks to you, Mr. Prime Minister, for the strong support that
00:11 you have made for the Philippines, especially during the past ASEAN conference where you
00:20 have made very clear that the claims that are being made upon our Philippine maritime
00:31 territory are not valid and have not been recognized and are not in conjunction or consistent
00:37 with international law.
00:40 And to have friends like you and partners like you, especially on that subject, is very
00:47 gratifying and encourages us to continue down that path.
00:53 So we thank you for that.
00:54 And once again, welcome to the Philippines.
00:58 Well, thank you very much, Mr. President, for the very warm welcome that myself and
01:07 my delegation have received.
01:10 It is great to be back in Manila.
01:13 And to be here as Prime Minister on my first Prime Ministerial visit to Manila.
01:21 We have a collective responsibility for security, including support for the UN Convention on
01:32 the Law of the Sea, UNCLOS, that's very important.
01:35 And Australia does support, as I said at the East Asia Summit, the 2016 South China Sea
01:43 Arbitral Award.
01:46 That is final and it's binding.
01:49 And it's important that that be upheld going forward.
01:53 Thank you.
01:54 Thank you.
01:54 (Applause.)
