05:25 But some parents are disappointed in the lack of learning from their children.

08:34 So that means they are five years behind.

08:37 The curriculum is really being adjusted.

08:39 This year, DEPED announced the reduction of subjects in the curriculum

08:47 to improve functional literacy as the ability to understand what is being read.

08:53 But aside from that, the freedom of the students is also being given to adjust the curriculum.

08:59 There are a few more recommendations for the existence of reading centers

09:03 and access to technology that is not for sale.

09:08 Middle class children, they can read fast, they can read more, they can learn more.

09:14 Why? Because they have this access to gadgets.

09:19 They have access to necessary supplementary reading materials.

09:24 But how can you prioritize that?

09:28 If the classroom alone is already short of almost 160,000.
