00:37 Sir, is there a celebration that is being held for the government employees?
00:44 Yes, there is.
00:46 In fact, this celebration is this month. Every September, the Philippine Civil Service Anniversary or PCSA is held.
00:54 It celebrates the establishment of the Philippine Civil Service or the entire government by virtue of Public Law No. 5 of September 19, 1900.
01:07 It is also in accordance with the Presidential Proclamation No. 1050, Series of 1997, which declares September as the month of the Civil Service.
01:19 The theme of PCSA is "Transforming Public Service in the Next Decade, Honing Agile and Future-Ready Servant Heroes."
01:29 This is the 10-year theme that aims to strengthen public service by reforming the government's policies.
01:39 This year, the 123rd PCSA Celebration is focused on the importance of strengthening the dynamism of all government workers
01:51 to achieve sustainable management and to strengthen the resilience or readiness of agencies and public servants.
02:00 In short, a dynamic civil servant is the one who knows how to adapt to sudden changes in their work
02:08 and has the ability to face the challenges that do not compromise the service.
02:18 This month, the CSC is preparing a lot of activities for all agencies and even for private individuals.
02:25 As a reward and appreciation for the service and long-term service of public servants,
02:31 there are special treats prepared for active and retired government workers.
02:37 The CSC is partnering with various business establishments to provide agencies with special rates and discounts
02:47 that they can use this month or within a specific period.

03:15 Sir, is the Philippine Civil Service Anniversary or PCSA only held by the Civil Service Commission?
03:22 No. Some people think that only the Philippine Civil Service Commission celebrates the Philippine Civil Service Anniversary.
03:30 But this anniversary is for all agencies and government officials
03:37 because we are all included in the Philippine Civil Service.
03:42 This is included in the Presidential Proclamation No. 1050, Series of 1997.
03:49 Aside from the entire government, we are also inviting the public to participate in various activities this month.
03:57 This first week of September, our celebration started
04:02 through the nationwide online Zumba and film showing held on September 1.
04:09 Many agencies and government officials from different parts of the Philippines
04:13 joined the Zumba to start the month-long PCSA celebration.
04:18 The purpose of this activity is to raise funds for the Philippine Civil Service Program of the CSC
04:27 to honor the government officials who sacrificed their lives for the public service.
04:33 This is done through the one-time financial assistance of P100,000
04:40 and scholarships to beneficiaries of the Nasawing Empleyado.
04:45 We are thankful to all the civil servants who were able to join this celebration,
04:50 and to their families and friends.
