00:00 is looking down on all of us tonight. Happy we're together,
00:03 continuing to spotlight such an incredible community."
00:06 God save the Queen, the Royal Family is paying
00:09 tributes to the late Queen Elizabeth on the first anniversary of her death.
00:13 On Friday, Kate Middleton and Prince William shared a sweet tribute on Instagram to the monarch
00:18 to honor her. The Prince and Princess of Wales posted photos of Her Majesty, including shots
00:24 with their three kids, and wrote, "Today we remember the extraordinary life and legacy
00:29 of Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth. We all miss you. W&C."
00:33 The British Royals even included a snap where the late Sovereign was surrounded by some of
00:38 her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. On Friday, the royal couple attended a special
00:43 service in honor of the Queen at St. David's Cathedral in Wales.
00:47 Prince Harry reflected on his grandmother's legacy while speaking at the 2023 Well Child
00:53 Awards in London on Thursday, a ceremony he had to miss in 2022 due to her passing.
00:59 "As you know, I was unable to attend the awards last year as my grandmother passed away.
01:04 As you also probably know, she would have been the first person to insist that I still come to
01:10 be with you all instead of going to her. And that's precisely why I know exactly one year on
01:17 that she is looking down on all of us tonight. Happy we're together,
01:20 continuing to spotlight such an incredible community."
01:24 King Charles reflected on his mother's life too,
01:27 releasing an audio clip on Instagram on Thursday, showing his admiration for her.
01:32 "In marking the first anniversary of Her Late Majesty's death and my accession,
01:38 we recall with great affection her long life, devoted service, and all she meant to so many of
01:46 us. I am deeply grateful too for the love and support that has been shown to my wife and myself
01:54 during this year as we do our utmost to be of service to you all."
01:59 The new monarch also posted an old photo of the Queen on Friday, adding,
02:04 "In loving and everlasting memory, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II,
02:09 21st April 1926, 8th September 2022."
02:14 Princess Eugenie wrote about missing her grandma on Instagram as well, penning,
02:19 "Thinking of you today. Missing you so much but remembering what a life of service,
02:24 love and dedication. To everyone and to your family who loved you so very much.
02:30 Forever grateful to you and always in my heart."
02:33 Despite Prince Harry returning to the UK for the charity event,
02:36 sources told People there are no plans for him to reunite with his family,
02:40 amid tension between his relatives and the Sussexes.
02:44 Following the release of his bombshell memoir, Spare, earlier this year, DailyMail.com's
02:49 Charlie Langston gave Access Hollywood her take on how it could impact any potential
02:54 reconciliation in the future. "Hugely mixed emotions. I think anyone who has seen their
03:02 name dragged through the mud by a family member in such a public forum couldn't help but feel
03:10 huge amounts of hurt, betrayal, but also anger, especially because of all people.
03:18 Harry is very much aware that senior members of the royal family are bound by certain rules
03:29 that prevent them from acknowledging attacks like this. Only on very, very rare occasions
03:37 will the palace comment on allegations, accusations, rumours and so on.
03:44 And even when they do comment, it is a very short one-line response.
03:49 When William, for example, said, "We are very much not a racist family."
03:54 When Buckingham Palace issued a statement about the Oprah interview saying that "recollections
03:59 may vary." At no point has anyone inside the palace walls been given the opportunity to
04:06 defend themselves, and Harry knows this. In one of his TV interviews to publicise the book,
04:12 he parrots the fact that the royal family's motto is "Never complain, never explain." So he knows
04:19 that their hands are tied and that there is very little that they can do to defend themselves.
04:24 So he is effectively shouting attacks at his brother, at Kate, at Charles, at Camilla,
04:32 all of whom have metaphorical tape over their mouths. And that is the written version of
04:39 kicking someone when they are down. Right. Yeah. Like they literally can't defend themselves.
04:45 What's the interview you just referenced, just so we know the one?
04:48 The 60 Minutes interview with Anderson Cooper, which they've aired an advanced clip of.
04:54 Okay, sounds good. And then last thing, because I know you have to go. After all of these
04:58 bombshell claims, do you think that Meghan and Harry have just totally ruined their relationship
05:04 with the royal family? Is there any way they could ever come back from all of this?
05:07 You know, I think the relationship between the Sussexes and the royal family was destroyed
05:12 long before the book was released. I think that Meghan and Harry had reached a point of no return
05:18 months ago. I think the book is just yet more evidence of why they can never be welcomed back
05:28 into the royal family. What has been proven by the Sussexes time and time again is that there
05:36 is no end point. We had the Oprah interview, which was, if you are going to look at it very kindly,
05:45 their opportunity to tell their story. However, if you're going to look at it with a very cynical eye,
05:53 when they received what is estimated to be a hundred million dollar Netflix deal,
06:00 they were happy to once again share their side of the story because they were making money.
06:06 Same with Harry's book. He received a very handsome publishing deal, millions upon millions
06:13 of dollars, that paid for all of the information that you are going to read in its pages.
06:20 As we understand it, Meghan is going to follow suit and publish her own book, which will no doubt
06:27 rehash many of the accusations and allegations that we've already heard, and who knows,
06:34 it may well include further bombshells. While the royal family may have been willing to give
06:41 Harry and Meghan a certain amount of grace after the Oprah interview, at this point,
06:47 how do you even begin to try and repair the relationship? Because as we've said,
06:52 they can never trust that private conversations that they have with Harry and Meghan won't make
06:58 it into the pages of a book, won't make it onto the screens of a Netflix documentary.
07:03 The trust has been irrevocably broken, and I don't think that that is something that can ever be
07:10 repaired.
