Brooks a loving guy outside the court

Canada's Dillon Brooks said being a bad guy or a villain is just a persona he projects on the court. Outside of it, Brooks said he's generally a loving and caring guy.

In the battle for bronze against USA at the Mall of Asia Arena on Sunday, September 10, Brooks unleashed 39 points on 12-of-18 shooting including 7-of-8 from deep to power Canada to a 127-118 overtime win.

00:00 What does it feel to be a villain? Obviously you're a tough player, it motivates you, but at the same time it probably upsets you, you didn't do anything wrong to people.
00:09 It's just a persona, people love it, I've grown to love it myself. It's just like Kobe Bryant, RIP to Kobe Bryant, how he had to figure out how to create Black Mamba, a different persona when he comes on the court.
00:32 So I guess that's my persona, the villain, just on the court, but I'm a loving, caring guy who loves my kids, loves my family, loves my teammates, loves the world as well.
00:50 How was it playing those who's taken you to MVP champs?
00:59 It was my second time, they did the same thing in Jakarta, it's just an amazing feeling to be recognized during the game, but I just never take it for granted. The work doesn't stop here, it keeps going, I'm not satisfied, neither is any one of us on this team.
01:26 Dylan, you just had an amazing game there after the crowd have been on your back all tournament, so I'd ask, have you got anything you want to say to the haters?
01:39 I just appreciate you from the beginning, everybody that was throwing shots at me on Twitter and Instagram, watching me play, but it just helps me get better each and every day.
02:00 It motivates me to be better on the court for my teammates, for whatever team I'm playing for, and it just motivates me to keep going.
02:12 Thank you all, bye for now.
02:14 Thank you.
