00:12 Literally, there's no mercy in the extreme sports I tried for this episode.
00:17 But I'll go ahead and let you watch me get soaked in water again and again.
00:24 Can I handle this wakeboarding?
00:26 Let's go!
00:27 Let's change the game!
00:28 [Music]
00:33 Hey Game Changers!
00:34 For this episode, we'll be trying endurance, balance, and patience.
00:39 [Music]
00:42 Solid.
00:43 Because for this episode of Game Changer, we'll be trying wakeboarding!
00:49 Considered as an extreme sport, the rider needs to be able to ride and balance while riding a wakeboard.
00:55 He can ride a motorboat or in our case, a motorized cable.
01:00 [Music]
01:03 And the one who will teach us is none other than the 5-time wakeboarding national champion
01:09 and the first Filipino to rank 2nd in the World Wakeboard Championships, Raf Trinidad!
01:14 Raf won the 2nd in the world title when he won the silver medal in the 2019 World Cable Wakeboard Championship in Argentina.
01:24 That was one hell of an experience when I became 2nd in the world.
01:28 Nobody expected it.
01:30 I'm super sure that everyone who I competed with were shocked.
01:34 And if Raf has a tip for aspiring wakeboarders?
01:38 If you fall 7 times, get back up 8.
01:41 Let's get to it!
01:42 To start our wakeboarding lessons, Raf gave me a try on what they call the "Little Bro Cable" that's perfect for beginners.
01:52 Make sure that both your toes are up.
01:55 So, always toes up.
01:57 And then keep your knees equally bent.
01:59 [Music]
02:07 It's just a warm-up, guys.
02:09 Because of my next try.
02:11 Lean back. There. Nice!
02:13 Let's go! You can do it!
02:16 [Music]
02:20 And since I got it on the beginner cable, it's time to level up.
02:25 Let's try it on the main cable, the "Big Bro" that has a stronger pull.
02:30 Chest down, knees bent, arms in front.
02:33 3, 2, 1, go!
02:35 [Music]
02:38 And this is where my calvary begins, guys.
02:42 [Music]
02:54 I've tried 100 times already.
02:56 [Laughs]
02:57 We've had a lot of water, so my tendency is to pull myself up because I fell.
03:04 [Music]
03:08 But as Raf said, we gotta get back up.
03:12 And get back up, we did.
03:15 Initially, it's frustrating because, of course, you feel like, "Why am I repeating my mistakes?"
03:21 But once you're there and once you're standing up,
03:24 that's when you feel good. You're cruising.
03:27 Just like any other sport, we can always push ourselves however challenging or frustrating it may be.
03:34 Just like what Raf said earlier, fall down 7 times, stand up 8.
03:38 For GMA Integrated News, I'm Martin Avier, changing the game!
