00:00 Thanks for joining us guys, preparing for the Masters Hockey Nationals in Western Australia.

00:07 And the format's a bit different this year, can you tell us about that?

00:10 Yes, this year for the first time they're having what they call a Mega Masters where

00:13 both the men and women are going to be competing at the same venue, so we're all off to Perth.

00:18 Excellent, and what age groups will you guys be competing in this year?

00:22 Kim, Anna and myself will be competing in the 50s, and Chris, what age group are you competing in?

00:27 In the 70s.

00:29 And Chris, can you tell us about that? How long have you been competing at the Masters for?

00:34 Well, since I was about 45, I've competed nearly every year, missed the odd year here and there.

00:43 This is my first year in the 70s, so I was pretty chuffed to get picked because surprisingly

00:51 people aren't dropping off the twig, they're actually staying fissure and the competition

00:57 for spots is still highly competitive.

01:00 Chris is bottom age this year, aren't you Chris? So you're the young gun.

01:03 I am the young gun.

01:04 And he's the fastest in the team.

01:06 Yeah, I've been told that.

01:09 And what do you guys enjoy about competing at the Masters?

01:12 I think for me it's about competing against your own age group, so usually weekly competitions

01:18 you're chasing around 14, 15 year olds, so when you actually get back to playing against

01:22 your age group I think it's more challenging I guess because everyone's almost at the same level.

01:26 And catching up with mates because we've got, I guess across all the years that everyone's

01:31 competed you always catch up with the same people whether it's in your team or whether

01:34 it's in other teams and everyone seems to be, everyone's really friendly and you just

01:38 catch up when it's really cool.

01:40 It's great to be able to go and support the other Victorian teams too, you make friendships

01:44 across the age groups, they present you with your Victorian jersey for the first time and

01:52 it's great to repay that in support, it's just fantastic.
