00:00 It's already applied within the dairy industry, not necessarily robotics, but technology in general.
00:05 So we're using things like collars on cows to check their health and to monitor their milk production and things like that.
00:14 And we're also using genetics to help breed cows.
00:18 So a lot of farmers use artificial insemination when they're breeding so they can breed the right type of cow for their farm.
00:25 So there's a lot of opportunities in other areas and lots of different advancements.
00:30 The dairy industry, like all industries, are experiencing shortages at the moment.
00:34 So there's nothing unique about the industry.
00:37 But what we want to show people is that there are different types of jobs.
00:41 I think a lot of people don't realise that there are lots of different opportunities within the industry.
00:46 So the robots just change the type of job rather than make us need less labour.
00:52 So it's just a change in the type of job role that you do at the dairy.
00:55 So today we've done one of our school tours.
00:58 So we're doing about one every week at the moment.
01:01 It's really beneficial because we get to share the whole milk process and everything we get to do and we're passionate about here and our animal welfare standards.
01:10 But also get to share the technology as well.
01:13 So with the robots and yeah.
01:16 A lot of misconception is that just because we have robots and we're not physically bringing the cows in or milking them, we're taking labour units away.
01:24 At the moment we're only milking 94 cows and we have three labour units.
01:28 Often on a conventional system they wouldn't have that many labour units.
01:32 We kind of just focus our energy on instead of physically putting the cups on, we focus them on the cow nutrition, animal welfare, cleanliness and the data as well.
01:42 So we're just taking those labour units and applying them into a different area onto the farm.
01:47 We're not taking the labour units away and dropping them.
01:49 That the cows are able to bring themselves in whenever they need and how the robots work and everything, that's pretty cool.
01:57 With the collar thing.
02:00 And the collar being black and blue.
02:02 And boring.
02:03 No.
02:04 And the noise that's going.
02:05 No, I haven't seen anything like this.
02:07 It's really interesting.
