00:09 The skyscraper artist sang a medley of her past hits

00:12 on the award show stage, but gave them all a rock twist.

00:15 Demi started out with an edgy rendition of "Heart Attack"

00:18 that got Taylor Swift singing along in the audience.

00:20 Then, after some pyrotechnics and headbanging,

00:22 they transitioned into "Sorry Not Sorry,"

00:24 and everyone in the crowd was rocking out.

00:26 The vocalist finished with "Cool for the Summer"

00:28 and hit every high note.

00:32 Demi's performance comes days before the release

00:36 of her remix album, "Revamped,"

00:38 where they re-recorded some of their biggest hits

00:39 as rock songs.

00:40 At the VMAs pre-show, the two-time Grammy nominee

00:43 told MTV about making the record.

00:45 - I think one of the songs that I had the most fun

00:47 re-imagining was "Neon Lights."

00:50 I did that with The Main, and it turned out really great.

00:52 I'm really excited about it.

00:54 - Oh my gosh, grew up listening to The Main.

00:55 You had to too, right?

00:56 - Yeah, definitely. - Legends.

00:57 Now, was there a song that lent itself to rock

00:59 that kind of surprised you

01:02 - You know, "Tell Me You Love Me"

01:04 didn't really lean rock in the beginning

01:06 until we put the production with it,

01:08 and it turned out great,

01:09 so I'm also really excited about that one.
