00:02 - We're with Radu and Robin, so you guys are just,
00:11 it's Oxfam's secondhand September,
00:13 so just in general, are you open to the idea
00:15 of shopping secondhand?
00:16 - Yeah. - Yeah, yeah.
00:17 We mostly shop on Vinted now, so we started to move
00:21 from mainstream shops.
00:23 - What kind of made you think, yeah, secondhand's fine
00:25 for me, is it the fact that it's a bargain,
00:27 good for sustainable for the planet, that kind of thing?
00:29 - You can get some good deals on Vinted,
00:31 like bundles for t-shirts and stuff
00:33 that you've ended up finding,
00:34 and it's just a lot more easily accessible to get that,
00:38 and obviously it's more sustainable
00:39 rather than doing fast fashion all the time.
00:41 - Yeah, definitely.
00:42 Come and sell for Radu, with secondhand clothes,
00:44 you're just open to it.
00:45 - Yeah, because it's cheaper, so.
00:46 - As long as it's a good deal.
00:47 - Yeah. - Absolutely, good stuff.
00:49 And so with something like a secondhand campaign
00:52 to get people to shop more sustainably,
00:54 would you, like, if you were there,
00:55 would you say to your friends, "Oh yeah, check it out,
00:56 "check out something like Vinted,
00:57 "check out a charity shop."
00:58 Would you say to them, you know, do the same thing?
01:00 - Yeah, yeah, yeah.
01:01 - Yeah, 100%.
01:02 And what kind of things have you ever seen
01:03 come across an absolute bargain,
01:04 like you say, like a t-shirt bundle or something,
01:06 which, I don't know, is just amazing,
01:07 anything stand out over the time, shopping secondhand?
01:10 - I think so, it's just mostly like bundles.
01:12 You can get like, I don't know,
01:14 three t-shirts for five pounds,
01:15 rather than going in a shop and getting a t-shirt for five.
01:18 - Yeah, definitely.
01:19 What about you, Radu, have you ever bought anything
01:21 secondhand or something? - Oh yeah,
01:22 I'm selling on Vinted as well, so.
01:22 - Yeah?
01:23 I was gonna ask about selling as well.
01:24 It's kind of like, people making quite a bit
01:26 of just spare cash, so do you both sell on Vinted?
01:29 - I've just started to get through all my clothes
01:31 to go sell them, so yeah.
01:33 - Yeah, good stuff.
01:34 It's good to be part of the like,
01:35 sustainable fashion kind of movement, I suppose.
01:37 - Yeah.
01:38 - Nice one.
01:39 Tillie and Sophie, so Tillie and Sophie,
01:40 just in general, secondhand clothing, you open to it?
01:43 - Yeah. - Yeah, definitely.
01:44 - Yeah, so what makes you think, yeah, that's for me,
01:46 is it the fact that you can get some good bargains,
01:47 the fact that, I don't know, it's helpful for the planet?
01:49 - Good bargains, really, I think.
01:51 - Yeah, like when shops don't have stuff in that,
01:53 you really want, you can find them secondhand,
01:56 and they're just as good as buying them from the shop,
01:58 and they're cheaper, so it's a really good deal.
02:00 - Definitely, I suppose another thing,
02:01 which a lot of movements have been based on,
02:03 is the fact that fast fashion can be really bad
02:06 for the planet, and it uses a lot of water,
02:07 and it's just not very sustainable,
02:08 so if you can shop secondhand for things you are looking for,
02:11 like you say, is that just another reason
02:12 just to get involved with it?
02:13 - Yeah, probably, yeah. - It's really good.
02:15 I don't see any why nots, really, when they're clean,
02:19 they may as well get reused.
02:20 - Yeah, definitely.
02:22 Also asking people if they've had that standout bargain,
02:25 you know, if you go into a charity shop
02:26 and you see a Gucci bargain,
02:27 it's there for a fiver or something.
02:28 Have you ever had anything like that?
02:30 - Eh, no, I haven't.
02:31 - I haven't had anything like that,
02:32 but I've found a lot of good bargains.
02:34 Most of my clothes are from Depop.
02:36 - Yeah, yeah, definitely.
02:37 What about things like vintage,
02:38 'cause I think the online revolution
02:40 of actually bringing it to people's laptops
02:42 or phones or whatever,
02:43 making it easy for people to shop secondhand,
02:45 are both of you like shopping on those places?
02:47 - Yeah, Depop and Vintage are my ones.
02:49 - They're the ones, are they?
02:50 And what about selling on them as well?
02:52 - I found it quite hard to do that, actually.
02:54 I tried selling it.
02:55 I do Facebook marketing.
02:57 - Yeah, well, that's a similar thing, really, isn't it?
02:59 - Yeah. - I suppose, yeah.
03:00 What about you, Sophie?
03:01 Are you like-- - I've not sold anything.
03:02 - Not sold anything? - No, but I have bought.
03:04 - Yeah, so I suppose attitudes are slowly changing
03:07 over time with secondhand clothing.
03:08 People are more open to it
03:09 and they know they can get bargains.
03:11 Times are tough at the minute, what we cost a living.
03:13 So would you just say to people, like, be open to it,
03:15 'cause you can actually get some really good stuff.
03:16 - Yeah, 100%.
03:17 - Yeah, nice one, brilliant.
