00:00 I think the results were good.
00:02 They may have gotten away from it a little bit and
00:04 probably got a little past happy so that helped out too.
00:06 But anytime you got 41 yards, it's a good start.
00:09 >> How is Elijah, is there any update with this?
00:14 >> No update, he's not any worse than he was.
00:16 He's actually a little better, but we'll take it day by day with him.
00:20 >> Was there a specific thing that caused him to not go back in or
00:23 was it just more of a cautionary thing?
00:25 We would have you- >> I just said he felt a little tight so
00:27 we kept him out.
00:28 >> Did he undergo an MRI though?
00:33 >> Yeah, he's good.
00:35 >> How defensively, obviously a lot of things went right there.
00:38 In terms of sound tackling, just wanna ask if you thought that was different or
00:41 thought that was an area of improvement in terms of just making the tackles when
00:44 they were supposed to on a Sunday?
00:46 >> Well, most part of the open field tackling was very good,
00:48 especially by the linebackers.
00:51 Obviously, at Winfield as well.
00:53 We increased it better today than we did in the preseason.
00:58 We got better up until the first game.
01:00 I thought it was good.
01:01 It can be better, but it was solid overall.
01:03 >> I know Winfield has ten sacks on his career already.
01:09 A lot of that, you dial those up, right?
01:11 You try to pick the right situations.
01:13 But there's a certain skill in avoiding a blocker and
01:16 getting the guy on the ground.
01:17 What is it about Antoine that enables him to be a good player?
01:21 >> He has a knack.
01:23 He can set up blockers and go under, go around.
01:26 He knows when they're off balance, when to go over top of them.
01:29 He has a good feel.
01:31 I think he does a lot of film study on who's blocking them and
01:34 how they're trying to block them.
01:35 You gotta have a feel for that.
01:37 There's a lot of people that blitz and run right into the guy.
01:39 He does not.
01:40 He has a knack for getting free every time.
01:43 >> It wasn't the start that the offense had hoped for in that game.
01:46 And Baker even talked about it not being pretty.
01:48 But can you just speak to his mental makeup to be able to kind of put that
01:52 start behind him and go out there and throw two touchdowns and
01:56 then lead another drive that resulted in a 57 yard field goal?
02:00 >> Baker's tough.
02:00 We knew it was gonna be a tough game going in.
02:02 So that wasn't a problem.
02:04 Florida's a good DC.
02:05 They had some wrinkles for us in the first half that were pretty good for us.
02:09 And we got off to a shaky start.
02:10 But we settled in.
02:11 Nobody flinched.
02:12 And Baker's toughness, obviously by the way he played, the throws that he threw
02:16 away and didn't turn over were just as impressive as the ones he completed.
02:20 >> How funny against a mobile quarterback this week with fields.
02:23 How important is it going to be?
02:24 How key is it to keep him in the pocket and
02:26 then throw him versus letting him escape?
02:28 >> Everyone's tried.
02:30 Everybody's tried.
02:32 He's probably faster than everybody we have in the front seven.
02:34 So it's gonna be a team effort.
02:36 We're gonna have to rally to him.
02:38 And they have other guys he can get the ball to.
02:40 But you say you wanna keep him in the pocket and contain him.
02:43 But if your D-line runs a 4-9 and he runs a 4-4,
02:46 there's gonna be a problem at some point.
02:48 So we just gotta make sure we have enough eyes on him that we can go get him.
02:52 >> You had mentioned the other day, describing Baker,
02:54 in one of the interviews that you did with Cirrus Radio.
02:57 He's a guy that'll stick his face in a fan.
02:59 Kind of just describe what that's about.
03:00 >> He's a quarterback with an offensive lineman mentality.
03:04 You don't want your quarterback doing it too much.
03:06 But he'll make the yards when he has to make the yards when the game is on the line.
03:10 He plays very smart.
03:11 That doesn't mean he's a renegade by any means.
03:13 It just means that he's willing to go the extra mile to put his face in the fan when
03:19 the situation calls for it.
03:20 And hopefully he doesn't have to do that too much where he can get banged up.
03:23 But offensive linemen feed off of that and then he becomes one of them.
03:27 And it's a rallying cry for the offense.
03:30 >> You said when you signed him, what he was all about.
03:32 You did a lot of research with him coming out of the draft.
03:35 But is there anything you've learned from him, just seeing him now in game action,
03:39 in a real game, playing for a full 60 minutes?
03:42 >> Obviously just his resiliency.
03:44 He was younger back when we first met.
03:46 So over the years, you have some ups and downs and trials and tribulations.
03:50 And he's worked through them and he's in a great space.
03:53 We're happy to have him.
03:54 He's very smart.
03:55 I didn't know he was as smart because I've never coached him that much.
04:00 But just getting us in and out of plays and
04:02 understanding the situations, he's been great.
