00:00 Hi guys and welcome to DriveSpark, I'm Pramit and what you see over here is the all new
00:09 390 Duke.
00:10 Now this is the Gen 3 Duke and this has just been launched at a price of Rs 3,10,500, that
00:17 is the ex-showroom price in Delhi.
00:18 So let me give you a quick walk around and tell you what all changes has the company
00:22 done with this motorcycle and what all do you get with the all new Gen 3 KTM 390 Duke.
00:27 So this is how the new Duke looks like, let me give you a quick walk around so that you
00:37 can see that how is this motorcycle to look and actually this looks just awesome.
00:43 A lot of things have changed in this motorcycle and let me quickly start off with the front
00:46 end.
00:47 So over here you get the LED headlight over here, now these are the DRLs that you see
00:51 over here.
00:52 Let me just quickly turn it on and as you can see that the DRLs are on and it's a full
00:58 LED cluster, it's a split headlight unit.
01:00 Over here you can see you get these upside down WP Apex suspension, now they are adjustable,
01:05 I will just get to that.
01:07 You get LED indicators over here and the tank extensions just look awesome, just look at
01:13 the motorcycle from this angle.
01:14 You get a short mudguard and again a front disc, orange wheels again, orange is KTM's
01:23 colour, so you get these wheels.
01:26 Talking about the suspension setup over here, so the USD forks is adjustable for compression
01:31 and rebound, so it is a five-step adjustable and you can adjust it from here, you can see.
01:37 Coming down you have a single disc and this disc size is a 320mm, you get obviously dual
01:43 channel ABS, that's the ABS pulse plate, that is the caliper.
01:48 And talking about the tyres, so the tyre profile on this, on the front section is a 110/70/R17,
01:53 so obviously you get 17/17 inch tyres on either end.
01:57 Now coming to the side profile, you can see that the tank extension, obviously there is
02:00 this badging that's Duke 390 written over here, you get the KTM badging over here and
02:05 this is for your coolant.
02:06 Now before that the coolant was here and if you notice over here now, the previous generation's
02:11 got a single fan but now it has got a twin fan setup for the radiator, so it can cool
02:18 down the engine even faster.
02:19 This is how the rear suspension is, now it has moved to the side, if you see it over
02:24 here, it was present in the centre, but now this has moved to the side and again you get
02:29 WP Apex suspension and this is adjustable for preload and rebound and preload is adjustable
02:37 of five step and the rebound is adjustable for 10 step, you can see you can adjust it
02:41 from here, you can make it either soft or hard.
02:44 Now this is the seat, obviously you get a split seat over here, grab rails and the seat
02:48 height is around 800mm, that's an ideal seat height but for taller riders, what KTM has
02:55 done is they have got an aftermarket accessory where the seat height can increase by up to
03:00 20mm, so you have to change this seat and after changing the seat, the seat height will
03:05 increase from 800 to 820mm.
03:09 You get an all new trellis frame, again finished in this orange colour, this is the key fob
03:14 and this is the new TFT console, it's a coloured display.
03:19 Switch gear quality on the left hand side, you get your mode selector, your selector
03:23 and everything, you get a hazard light over here, you get your power switches at the front,
03:27 over here you get the kill switch and the ignition switch.
03:30 Now the mirrors are finished in this aluminium and I mean, just comment below, like how do
03:36 you like the all new 390 Duke, I mean, for me, if you ask us, the bike just looks really
03:43 really awesome.
03:44 Let us now talk about the engine first, this engine is obviously a 399cc and this produces
03:50 around 46PS of power and 39Nm of peak torque, so if you compare it to the previous generation
03:57 Duke that's the second generation, the second generation produced around 43.5PS of power
04:02 and 37Nm, so the power has gone up to 46, that's a bump of 2.5PS of power and around
04:09 2Nm of peak torque.
04:11 Now the main reason is that now the airbox that was present over here, that is underneath,
04:16 what you see over here, now since the suspension has moved to the side, as I showed you, so
04:22 the airbox has now become bigger and the bigger the airbox, the more air it pulls in and the
04:26 more air it pulls in, it produces more power and more torque.
04:30 This is the swingarm, again everything is so neatly integrated and the exhaust has gone
04:37 down as the first generation Duke had it, it is the underbelly exhaust and obviously
04:41 this engine is the BS6 stage 2 compliant engine.
04:46 Again wheelbase of the motorcycle is 1,354, the ground clearance of the motorcycle is
04:51 around 183mm, saddle height as I mentioned is 800mm but you can obviously increase it
04:58 by 20mm by changing this seat.
05:00 Torque weight, now let us talk about the weight of the motorcycle, so the previous generation
05:04 Duke weighed around 172kgs and this one weighs at 168, so obviously there is 4kgs of weight
05:15 that has been dropped and that's a huge difference.
05:18 Fuel tank capacity on this motorcycle is around 15L now, you get this aluminium fuel tank
05:23 and the previous generation one got a 13.5L fuel tank and as I was mentioning the front
05:29 disc is a 320mm, the rear disc is a 240mm, the disc size on the rear has increased by
05:37 10mm, the previous generation got a 230, this has got a true 240mm disc.
05:44 Coming to the rear section, this is how the tail light looks, grab handles and this is
05:49 your mudguard, your mudflap and this is where your number plate will be placed, you also
05:54 get a saree guard over here and these are your specs for your air, so yeah guys this
06:01 was the all new KTM 390 Duke and the bike just looks awesome, rides awesome, the review
