Newcastle United have been delayed getting to Milan on Monday ahead of their Champions League group stage opener against AC Milan.
Transcript
00:00 Here at the San Siro Stadium where Eddie Howe was due to speak to the media at 7pm local time.
00:08 Here in Milan ahead of the Champions League Group Stage opener tomorrow evening.
00:14 But as it is now, it's about 8.25pm here in Milan and Eddie Howe is still not here.
00:22 Sam Dotton-Orly was due here as well. Delayed flight from Newcastle.
00:27 Set off at half two. Arrived here with plenty of time to get to AC Milan's home stadium.
00:34 But still, as I speak now, yet to land.
00:39 It's a bit of a storm in a teacup situation.
00:43 UEFA guidelines state press conferences must take place no later than 8pm the day before the Champions League game.
00:53 Unless agreed in advance with UEFA. Obviously Newcastle, not sure if the particularly bad weather of which it has been very bad here in Milan.
01:03 Thunderstorms has been a cause for that delay.
01:06 But yeah, was hoping to be bringing you some Eddie Howe updates from the San Siro and Sam Dotton-Orly too.
01:14 But yeah, we're approaching 8pm now here in Milan and still no further forward.
01:19 Hopefully by the end of the night at least we'll have spoke to Eddie Howe and see how his day has gone.
01:28 Because it sounds like it's been a long day after the club trained at Dorsley Park this morning.
01:33 The duo were meant to be training briefly at the San Siro tonight but the longer that goes on, unclear if that happens.
01:41 And just after 20 years wait to be back in the Champions League, it's not the greatest start is it?
01:48 But like we say, we won't blow anything out of proportion too much, just a press conference at the end of the day.
01:55 The big event is tomorrow night so we'll hopefully talk about that with Eddie Howe later on.
02:02 And look ahead to what is a huge game at the San Siro for Newcastle's Champions League group stage opener.
