00:00 As the dust settles on, Niggas United's Champions League campaign and my pies have crashed out
00:06 in fourth place after what started a very promising night at St James' Park and it's
00:13 really dissipated in a tinge of disappointment really. I think the atmosphere was fantastic
00:19 at the beginning of the game, I came to the PSG match and when Joe Linton fired in, you
00:24 really thought something special was happening. It was a brilliant goal to be fair from Joe
00:26 Linton, you've got to give him credit for that. A nice little pass from Lewis Miley
00:31 and he rocketed the top corner and at that point, you guys were well on top and deserved
00:34 that lead. They were pressing, they were high energy and Milan couldn't contain them at
00:41 times and you guys were very good and De Bruyne had very little to do in that first half and
00:44 then he gets a half time and you're thinking, right, this is the moment you guys will really
00:49 kick on. PSG and Dortmund were 1-1 at that point, so at that point you guys were through
00:55 and then it all just fell apart in that second half. You guys sort of ran out of steam, weren't
01:02 as on the front foot as they were in the first half. Milan were clinical on the counter-attack
01:06 and that was the story of the game and that's the end of their European run. It's a real
01:11 shame for any outsider. It started so promisingly, not just this game but the whole campaign
01:15 and to see it fall like that, it would be a real disappointment for the team who feel
01:18 they probably haven't shown their best selves in Europe and feel that probably their injuries
01:23 have taken its toll and won that. We never really know what it would look like if they'd
01:27 had a full strength team, they've never been able to name a full strength squad really
01:31 other than probably that first game out in Milan. So it's a disappointment end to a European
01:35 campaign, they're not even Europa League football, obviously they're defeated, it means that
01:39 they don't even get Europa League football, that's a shame. It's a big shame but now all
01:47 focus on the Cup and the league now for Newcastle United, they've got Chelsea next week, that's
01:53 a massive game in the Carabao Cup, obviously we all know Summerlund's coming in the FA
01:56 Cup and then three really big Premier League games coming up against Fulham, Nottingham
01:59 Forest and Luton, so Luton and sandwiching between that Fulham and Nottingham Forest
02:02 game. Them three are very winnable but games like Newcastle need to win, they need to keep
02:08 level with them teams fighting for European places and they have to win those games you
02:12 would think. So lots of pressure going in the next few weeks and it's a shame that they
02:15 won't be playing any European football after the New Year but I think Newcastle United
02:20 can hold their heads up relatively high, they've given it a good go, it was a group of death,
02:24 no one expected them to qualify for it, they were four seeds, they finished fourth, they
02:28 will be disappointed that they haven't finished third or higher, at one point they were going
02:32 through and it's basically 25 minutes tonight, they went from second, third to fourth, so
02:36 they will be disappointed, the players will be disappointed, they demand nothing but 100%,
02:41 they want to win every game but Newcastle United now, no excuses not to do well domestically
02:47 and you would hope that this won't be the last time they are in the Champions League,
02:52 they are going to have to do something very special in the second half of the season to
02:56 make that dream a reality for next year but right now Newcastle United out of Europe entirely
03:01 no hope, it's another league they have to get into the field, 2-1 by AC Milan.
03:04 Thank you, Mom.
