00:23 because of the activities that will be done in the so-called "Bayan".

00:27 The so-called "Bayan" where we are now is covered in controversy.

00:37 that Socorro in Surigao del Norte,

00:39 an island municipality of livelihood is fishing and farming.

00:43 But in Senator Risa Ondiveros' privileged speech yesterday,

00:46 the group of Socorro Bayanihan Services Inc. said

00:50 that it is like a cult and is gathering in one part of the mountain.

00:54 Some minors were said to be the victims of the group

00:57 who held Socorro LGU and gave money to those who attempted to abuse them.

01:05 Socorro Bayanihan started as a people's organization.

01:08 But after the strong earthquake in February 8, 2019,

01:12 many Socorro members responded to the call of the group living in the mountain.

01:16 Teachers, professionals and ordinary people,

01:19 along with their families,

01:21 who until now have not gone down and have chosen to live in the mountain.

01:26 Some left their families to follow the group's leader

01:30 whom they know as the reincarnation of St. Nino.

01:34 According to the Socorro Local Government,

01:36 more than 3,000 people are in what they call "sitio kapihan",

01:40 the huta and community of Socorro Bayanihan.

01:43 One of the residents who was left by her husband, Sheila,

01:46 her real name is not known.

01:48 Although her husband still texts her from time to time,

01:51 she has no plans to go down the mountain.

01:54 In April of this year, the Socorro Task Force Kapihan was formed

01:57 to find a solution to the victims of the group,

02:01 including the left-behind spouses of the victims

02:04 and the members who were abused and threatened

02:08 by the security of the so-called armed forces of the SBSI.
