00:00The health department will launch a wide-ranging vaccination for public schools next month.

00:07This is for children who were not vaccinated against various diseases during the pandemic lockdown.

00:14And Ivan Mayrina was the one who got it right.

00:19In 2021, in the face of COVID-19,

00:23the Philippines became the fifth country to have zero-dose vaccination for children.

00:28They are the only ones who have not received a single dose of various diseases

00:31due to the lockdowns and the lack of health workers.

00:34That's why it's a must-do for them to catch up.

00:36VACCINE SCHOOL

00:38Public schools will be vaccinated from October 7 and all Fridays in October.

00:44Private school students can also be vaccinated there.

00:47This is a free vaccine for Grade 1 and Grade 7.

00:51They will be given measles and rubella vaccine and tetanus and diphtheria.

00:56For Grade 4 girls, 9 years old,

01:00they will be given human papillomavirus vaccine or anti-cervical cancer vaccine.

01:06According to the health department of the President in a sectoral meeting in Malacanang,

01:10there is almost P8 billion in the fund for vaccines in 2025.

01:15The target is 95% vaccination rate.

01:18It is impossible to reach 100% because there are parents who are sick

01:22and there are children who are allergic to some vaccines.

01:25Almost 70% increase in dengue cases in the country compared to last year.

01:30A new dengue vaccine from Japan has been approved by the Food and Drug Administration or FDA.

01:34But even if it passes, it will not be given to everyone.

01:38If you go to your physician, the physician will review your medical history

01:42or if your history of previous dengue and then probably do some serologic test

01:48and then will recommend to you if that is needed.
