00:02 As you mentioned, Nick Chubb, he's been one of the best backs, if not the best
00:06 running back in the National Football League since he joined the NFL, dating
00:10 back to 2018. He's run for 1,000 yards in each of the past four seasons. And
00:16 last year, Kap was fully healthy, played in all 17 regular season games for
00:21 the Browns. But of course, the devastating, gruesome knee injury in the
00:25 doubleheader on Monday night in Pittsburgh between the Browns and
00:29 the Steelers. As Kevin Stefanski told all the media, and as we feared, Kap, on
00:33 Monday night, Nick Chubb is out for the remainder of 2023. What effect does that
00:39 have on the Browns offensively and their outlook for the remainder of this season?
00:44 >> Yeah, so Ben, when you look at their situation on offense, one of the things
00:47 they wanted to do now with Sean Watson there full-time, because last year he
00:51 just struggled because he didn't have an offseason. Though they had Nick Chubb to
00:56 start the season, they wanted to start throwing the ball more, get out there
00:59 more, use their diverse pass-target group, which is deeper. Talking to the
01:03 Browns about it, leading up to the season, they felt good that this thing
01:07 could go forward. And now that you take Chubb out of the equation, which is
01:09 obviously a major issue, Jerome Ford takes over as a starter. But they've got
01:15 a good pass-target group. Now, the one issue is pass protection. They lost Jack
01:19 Conklin, their right tackle for the season. Dwan Jones started, did okay
01:23 against the Steelers, but it's got to be better than that going forward. But the
01:27 big thing is, they're just not going to be able to be the running team they had
01:31 been in the past without Chubb. They just can't. Now, Jerome Ford, I know talking to
01:36 the Browns, they like him. He was a fifth-runner of University of Cincinnati
01:39 last year. He's got versatility of that huge play against the Steelers for the
01:43 touchdown. But they need a veteran in back of them. That is why they're
01:48 looking to bring in Kareem Hunt. They'll give him a physical. They'll see where he's
01:51 at. Remember, he's not practiced, Ben, since last season. So there's no time to
01:56 have one he'd be ready if they do sign him. But look, they know him. He's been
01:58 there. He's been there for several years after the Chiefs cut him. Talented back
02:01 could help them third down. Clearly not the back he once was, but could be a
02:05 quality backup. But my understanding is, guys, they want to go here with Jerome
02:08 Ford being their starter. And he's been in their system now for two years.
