00:00 And this is it, it's beauty with a purpose date here in our first round.
00:06 That's right, this morning we will be with the lovely ladies of Miss World.
00:10 Let's welcome in the first round, Miss World 2022, Carolina Belavzca.
00:15 Oh, it's so beautiful.
00:19 If we're like this, we're beautiful.
00:21 Hello, ladies.
00:23 Good morning.
00:24 Carolina, good morning, please join us.
00:26 Good morning.
00:27 And then Miss World Philippines 2022, Gwendolyn Fornion.
00:32 Wow, it's really beautiful this morning.
00:38 Yes, it's beautiful.
00:40 I want to do a make-up again.
00:42 Yes.
00:43 I will give you a kiss.
00:44 Thank you, you're my friend.
00:46 We're all beautiful.
00:47 Okay, so good morning, ladies.
00:48 Good morning.
00:49 Welcome to Unang Hirit.
00:50 Thank you so much for having us.
00:52 And of course, Carolina, welcome to the Philippines.
00:56 It's your first time here?
00:57 It's my first time.
00:58 Thank you so much for having me.
01:00 Thank you for visiting us.
01:01 How has your visit been to the Philippines so far?
01:04 Well, that's my first experience in the Philippines because I arrived yesterday evening.
01:09 So we started the best, you know.
01:12 So you've seen the van, you've seen the hotel.
01:16 Not much of the Philippines yet, okay.
01:19 Really remarkable.
01:20 But the people were lovely.
01:22 Of course, thank you very much.
01:23 What are you looking forward to experiencing and seeing here in the country?
01:27 To be honest, it's a short visit.
01:29 It's just the first taste.
01:30 But I'm sure I will come back and I really would love to see the Palawan Underground River.
01:35 I would love to see it.
01:37 It's so beautiful and I also love diving.
01:39 And I know you have one of the most beautiful coral reefs in the world.
01:43 You're going to love it there.
01:44 I mean, so many places to see.
01:46 So many places to see indeed.
01:47 My question is dealing with any Tagalog words.
01:50 Oh, yes.
01:51 For the past hours that you've been here in the Philippines, has anyone taught you any Tagalog words?
01:57 You know, I've heard "charot" a lot.
01:59 Of all words.
02:00 They were chasing me all the time.
02:02 So I heard "charot, charot" and I was like, "What does that mean?"
02:05 I did not teach her that.
02:06 And "mabuhay"
02:09 Yes.
02:10 And "mahal ko kayo."
02:15 Yes, it means a lot.
02:16 Oh, perfect.
02:17 But my favorite word is "charot."
02:19 Everyone uses that.
02:21 Okay, so being in the current Miss World, though, I'm sure you've visited a lot of countries.
02:26 So what have you discovered while going around the world?
02:29 To be fair, we travel a lot and I met so many amazing people from different backgrounds, cultures, religions.
02:36 But what I found out is that whenever we go, we have so much more in common than what sets us apart.
02:42 At the end of the day, we all want to love and be loved.
02:45 That's true.
02:46 And that's really beautiful.
02:47 And support each other.
02:48 It's a wonderful experience when you don't judge but you learn from each other, from your experiences, from your culture, and you pick up the best things.
02:57 That is true.
02:58 That's why I love traveling also.
02:59 You get to share experiences.
03:01 And learn more from others, right?
03:04 And above all else.
03:05 It opens your mind and your eyes.
03:06 That's true.
03:07 That's the best.
03:08 And you, Gwen, what are the things that you can recommend to Miss Paula and Carolina that will make Filipinos proud?
03:14 Honestly, I have a huge list for you, Carolina.
03:17 So you might get hired out.
03:19 And I know she really wants to try Jollibee.
03:22 That's a food that she can eat.
03:24 Yes.
03:25 I've heard a lot about it.
03:27 I know it's great.
03:28 And also chicken adobo.
03:30 Yes.
03:31 Street food, right?
03:32 And we'll make sure she has so much that she'll be so stuffed when she goes back.
03:36 Make time for those.
03:38 I hope your clothes have space for additional stuff.
03:43 And a body hug.
03:44 Yes.
03:45 All right.
03:46 How are you preparing for the upcoming Miss World pageant?
03:48 Well, we have so much going on, actually.
03:51 But I'm really focused on my beauty with a purpose.
03:53 Because after meeting Carolina, I can really see the essence of her purpose.
03:58 And how beautiful she is inside out.
04:00 Wherever she goes, she shines.
04:02 And she leaves a footprint and an in mark on people's hearts.
04:06 And I hope that I can also do the same.
04:09 And follow in her footsteps.
04:10 But also through my project, "Bridge the Gap, Build the Future,"
04:13 we focus on education for the youth.
04:17 Oh, I love that.
04:18 Beauty with a purpose.
04:19 Because education is what we really, really need.
04:21 And I love that how they empower each other.
04:24 That's true.
04:25 Women to women.
04:26 And I did ask her to say that.
04:27 Just wanted to make sure, you know.
04:29 Here's $20.
04:30 You did well.
04:32 Thank you.
04:33 You're a great teacher.
04:34 But Gwen, you are here as part of that.
04:37 Like you mentioned, beauty with a purpose world tour.
04:40 What is the goal of this entire tour for everyone participating?
04:45 Well, for all the candidates, I'm pretty sure that it's an opportunity
04:48 to use that platform to talk about something that matters.
04:52 That's something that is fulfilling.
04:54 That will allow them to share their voice, their advocacy,
04:57 and something that is very personal to them.
04:59 Because to be able to share that to the world, to use that platform,
05:02 and to uplift one another is a great opportunity
05:05 to change the world into a better place.
05:07 That's true.
05:08 And I really love that your platform is based on education
05:11 because that's exactly what we need right now.
05:13 Most important thing.
05:14 And here's the fun part.
05:16 As they say, a true queen sees the beauty and purpose in everything.
05:20 That's why we have a challenge for them here in our Q&A with a twist.
05:24 We have a box here that has different objects.
05:30 They will take the object inside the box
05:32 and explain its purpose in a true beauty queen fashion.
05:36 So let's start with you, Karolina.
05:39 Explain everything in English.
05:41 Okay, Karolina, Kylie, choose an object and explain its purpose.
05:44 Can I start?
05:45 Yeah.
05:46 As a--
05:47 As a?
05:48 As a beauty queen.
05:51 Yeah, so explain it in a beauty queen way.
05:53 Yeah, like a Q&A question.
05:55 Choose an object.
05:56 Choose an object.
05:57 Q&A.
05:58 Video, I know that you know this.
06:00 So--
06:03 What's this?
06:04 Ball pen, okay.
06:05 I love that you chose that instead of the others.
06:07 All right.
06:08 Explain what you have in your hand.
06:10 Ladies and gentlemen, thank you so much for this opportunity
06:13 to speak about this extremely important object.
06:17 I truly believe that with a single pen,
06:19 we all are able to change the world by writing down our thoughts
06:24 and sharing them with others,
06:27 sharing what we believe in, our dreams, our goals,
06:30 what we're passionate about,
06:32 and sharing it with other people and with the society.
06:35 I believe it can make a real difference in the world.
06:38 Thank you so much.
06:39 Yeah, I love that.
06:41 I love that.
06:42 And also because pen is mightier than the sword.
06:44 Exactly.
06:45 And she made sense with just a pen.
06:47 With just a pen.
06:48 Can you imagine that?
06:49 OMG.
06:50 Gwen, this is your challenge.
06:51 Can I beat that?
06:53 Good luck.
06:54 Choose one.
06:55 Time.
06:56 Oh, interesting choice.
07:01 Okay, go ahead, Gwen.
07:03 I think this really represents time.
07:06 It is something that can run out easily
07:09 and it's something that we take for granted.
07:11 And without enough time, there's not so much we can do to achieve.
07:14 That's why we need to utilize our time to make a difference in this world,
07:18 to transform people's lives,
07:20 to leave a mark on their hearts,
07:23 and to make sure that we will never be forgotten despite time passing by.
07:28 Wow, I love those answers.
07:31 I am so impressed with these beautiful ladies.
07:34 So thank you, our beautiful ladies.
07:36 Any last message to our viewers?
07:39 I just wanted to thank all the Filipino fans
07:42 because you were so supportive and so loving throughout my whole journey.
07:47 And also when I was talking with the previous Miss World,
07:49 all of them told me,
07:51 "Everything will be exciting, but wait until you get to the Philippines.
07:54 It will be the goal."
07:56 And I'm already loving the experience.
07:58 Thank you.
07:59 Yes, I hope you enjoy more of the Philippines aside from the hotel room.
08:03 We'll see.
08:04 Gwen?
08:05 Well, I want to...
08:07 You know, it's such an honor to welcome the Miss World entourage here,
08:10 especially you, Carolina, our current Miss World.
08:13 You really are a light that is illuminating.
08:15 And for you to be here in the Philippines,
08:18 experience it for the first time,
08:19 I hope that you will fall in love with it even more
08:22 and we'll make sure to welcome you with more warmth
08:25 and of course more food.
08:27 It's an experience that you'll never forget.
08:30 And I'm sure that to bring that back, that experience,
08:34 and to share that with other people is something that is unforgettable.
08:38 And I hope that all of you guys can support us as well
08:41 and support a cause, a great cause,
08:44 beauty with a purpose.
08:45 In our own little ways.
08:47 Thank you, and thank you, ladies.
08:49 Gwen, Carolina, thank you very much.
08:51 Thank you.
08:52 So, it's a beautiful morning.
08:54 I hope you have fun visiting the Philippines.
08:56 I want to see you after your visit here.
08:59 Let's see.
09:00 And good luck, Gwen.
09:01 Good luck, Gwen.
09:02 Thank you so much for having us.
09:04 Thank you.
09:05 Thank you.
