01:08 In his speech, Ahmad Fuzi raised concerns over the perils of technology
01:13 including the digital divide, cyber security and data privacy.
01:19 He said, with the widespread use of artificial intelligence,
01:22 there would be job displacement.
01:24 Therefore, the government needs to ensure that there are reskilling and upskilling efforts
01:30 to ensure a future-ready workforce.
01:33 Ahmad Fuzi said Malaysia should adopt a proactive approach to addressing these challenges
01:39 that collaborative efforts between the public and private sectors and academia
01:44 can lead to formulating policies and regulations that foster innovation
01:49 while safeguarding the interests of individuals and society.
01:54 According to Ahmad Fuzi, the state-owned government-linked company Digital Penang
02:00 could make a significant contribution to the Malaysian digital economy
02:04 in helping to increase the number of digital businesses in Penang
02:08 to create more jobs and boost economic growth.
02:12 He added that Digital Penang can draw more foreign investments
02:16 into the digital sector in the state to generate new technologies and expertise,
02:21 improve its public services delivery by making them more efficient and accessible,
02:27 and create a digital ecosystem in Penang that would attract more start-ups and entrepreneurs.
