Poland Will No Longer
Provide Weapons to Ukraine , Amid Grain Disputes.
Poland made the announcement
on Sept. 20, CNN reports.
We no longer transfer weapons to Ukraine because we are now arming Poland, Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki, via statement.
The decision comes amid a dispute between the
two countries over Ukrainian grain imports. .
Earlier this year, several EU nations temporarily banned Ukrainian grain imports to protect local farmers who feared they'd be undercut by the country's low prices.
The ban was suspended last week, but Poland, Hungary and Slovakia enacted their own restrictions against Ukrainian grain imports. .
Ukraine filed lawsuits against
each of the countries as a result.
While addressing the U.N. General Assembly on
Sept. 20, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said, .
"it is alarming to see how some in Europe, some of our friends in Europe, play out solidarity in a political theater – making a thriller from the grain.".
Polish Foreign Minister Pawel Jablonski refuted Zelensky's claims, saying that Poland has been "supporting Ukraine since the first days of the war.".

that Poland will not accept Ukrainian grain imports,
but it will still allow passage through the country.
On the weapons front, Poland was
the first NATO member to provide Ukraine with fighter jets, NBC News reports.
It has also sent over 200 Soviet-style tanks
to the war-torn country
