00:00 - All is well, man.
00:01 All is well.
00:02 - You good?
00:04 DeMar, just, what have you seen from Jordan Law
00:10 since starting there?
00:11 - What is it, his second year?
00:15 - But first year, yeah, first.
00:16 - First year I started, but second year.
00:19 We got a chance to practice against him last year,
00:21 I believe, and thought he was a phenomenal talent,
00:24 quarterback that can make all the throws,
00:26 very mobile in the pocket.
00:28 We knew when it started to click for him,
00:30 he was gonna do really good,
00:30 and he's done very good in his offense.
00:32 Being able to keep the offense in rhythm,
00:37 being able to know where to go with the ball quickly,
00:38 and if a play breaks down, he can make plays with his feet.
00:41 So he's a dynamic player,
00:44 and he'll be a good challenge for us on Sunday.
00:46 - I think most people would probably see him,
00:48 and like, "Oh, he's an athletic quarterback."
00:49 But he's a guy that wants to make throws from the pocket,
00:51 wants to extend plays.
00:52 Is that what you've kind of noticed, I guess,
00:54 from the time you did the joint practices
00:56 and the first two weeks at the club?
00:57 - Yeah, he's a guy that can do it all.
00:59 Just a dynamic football player.
01:00 He can make plays inside the pocket.
01:02 He can make plays that are designed to get him
01:05 outside the pocket and on the move.
01:07 And he plays a lot with his feet.
01:09 So, just a dynamic football player.
01:12 - Mario, the defense has just been playing like so,
01:13 back-to-back weeks.
01:14 If Jordan Houghton were to be the one that fills in
01:16 Marcus May's role, what kind of confidence
01:18 do you guys have in him that he's gonna be able
01:20 to maintain that level of play?
01:21 - Well, first of all, yeah, praise God.
01:23 We have been able to play good football.
01:25 We just gotta continue to do that down the stretch.
01:27 I was just a phenomenal talent.
01:33 He can do it all since the time he showed up.
01:37 He stood out on tape.
01:42 And so, it's challenging for a young guy
01:46 to come in and play in our defense
01:48 and play at a high level, but he's shown he can do it.
01:51 We try to keep it simple for him.
01:53 Just know your job, squad, and execute.
01:55 And that's what he's done.
01:57 He wouldn't be hitting the field if we didn't trust him.
02:00 So, I'm really good about him.
02:02 I can't wait to see him fly around and make plays
02:06 and people really start to know his name
02:09 and see how good of a player he is.
02:10 - As a captain and a leader in this group,
02:12 is he maybe somebody you pull to the side
02:13 in a week like this and share some,
02:15 try to boost his confidence maybe,
02:17 or even have conversations with him?
02:18 - No, it's not necessary.
02:20 He's a guy that's locked in and out.
02:23 I've had conversations with him,
02:25 but he's very dive in.
02:27 He knows what he has to do.
02:29 Plus, we have leaders in the secondary
02:31 that can pull him to the side and make sure he's equipped.
02:35 And he's also getting phenomenal coaching.
02:37 And so, he's catching it in a lot of different directions.
02:40 He'll be ready to go.
02:41 And so, excited for him.
02:44 But he's playing in the middle of a secondary
02:48 that's playing some really good football right now.
02:51 When you look at how Lats been locking guys up,
02:54 Melante's been flying around,
02:56 Debo's been phenomenal,
02:58 and Tyron's just been tyring.
02:59 Very easy to come in and play with a unit like that.
03:04 'Cause all you gotta do is match the in-and-outs.
03:07 - I was gonna say, let's speak to that depth
03:08 of the defensive backroom.
03:09 When you loose on Marcus for the ex-manager of your time,
03:12 it seems like you guys have that depth
03:14 to kind of make up for a loss,
03:15 even though you'd rather have Marcus there in that back end.
03:19 - Absolutely.
03:20 First, as a brother,
03:22 you think about Marcus, it's challenging for him
03:26 not to be playing for three weeks
03:28 and not being around the guys in the locker room.
03:29 So, just continuing to make sure we're supporting him
03:33 and reaching out to him.
03:35 But it's the next man of the league.
03:36 And so, whoever has to go in, they have to be ready.
03:39 And we're just fortunate that we got a good unit
03:42 that we can rely on a guy that has played downs for us.
