00:20 The Department of Foreign Affairs was ready to help the Office of Solicitor General in its investigation

00:36 According to Article 192 of UNCLOS, the obligation of the country to protect the marine environment
00:44 is based on the 2016 Arbitral Award in the South China Sea.
00:48 This obligation is being fulfilled in all maritime areas.
00:52 Therefore, the countries that entered the Exclusive Economic Zone of the Philippines should also follow this.
00:58 For now, the Foreign Affairs Department is just waiting for the assessment
01:02 of the government's agencies for their next steps.
01:06 But this is what Solicitor General Minardo Guevara said,
01:10 that they are considering filing a complaint against China in the Permanent Court of Arbitration.
01:16 Even though the Department of Justice is ready to file a complaint against China
01:20 that it is being helped in the back of the coral destruction in the region.
01:24 But this can be denied by China.
01:27 The Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs also urged the Philippines to stop making political drama
01:33 and said that the country's accusation has no basis.
01:36 They also said that if the Philippines really cares about the ecological environment in the South China Sea,
01:42 the BRP Shera Madrid should leave here because it is harmful to the sea and the coral from the ship.
01:49 For now, the validation of the government's agencies is ongoing
01:52 to investigate the extent of the coral destruction in the West Philippine Sea.
