00:29 Dr. Rob, you and I actually went round and round,
00:32 round and round about the diagnosis this week,
00:34 and we focused a lot on the offensive line.
00:37 Today's gonna be no different,
00:38 but the Huskers ran for over 300 yards yesterday,
00:42 and the running game, a big part of that,
00:43 and you got good offensive line play in the run game.
00:46 - It was.
00:47 There was some stuff here that I really liked
00:48 that I really kinda wanna point out.
00:50 Now, this is a really nice run by Anthony Grant here
00:53 early in the game.
00:54 And so, kinda what I want people to key on,
00:57 couple of things.
00:58 One, you got Teddy Prohaska kinda getting him out there
01:01 on the field now in this heavy set.
01:03 So, he's basically an extra tight end right here.
01:06 And what you're gonna see is a double team here
01:08 with Teddy and 44, Ben Hart here,
01:12 and I can't see what the goalpost,
01:15 I'm assuming that that's New Alley right here, Ben Scott.
01:19 But kinda the big thing that I want people to follow here,
01:23 you got, I think it's Liebentrop at fullback come out,
01:26 gets a really nice kick out block here.
01:28 You're gonna see a backside pull with Ethan Piper here
01:32 where he's gonna come out and he's gonna kick out this guy
01:35 as he comes up here.
01:37 And you get a really nice hole that's gonna,
01:40 for Anthony Grant to just kinda take that ball
01:42 right up here to the right.
01:45 As we go ahead and progress, you're gonna see Piper
01:47 with a really nice pull right here.
01:50 And then right here where they're hitting the hole,
01:53 this is where you're gonna see that kick out block.
01:56 You're getting a nice kick out here from the fullback.
01:59 And you're gonna have a great lane right up here.
02:02 You've got these three guys doing a nice job
02:04 of sealing off the rest of that defense.
02:07 But you got this really nice lane right here
02:10 that Grant can get up through.
02:12 Really a very well executed play by these guys
02:16 on the offensive line.
02:17 And I think we're kinda, for lack of a better phraseology,
02:20 sort of stumbling into the strengths of these guys.
02:25 And I think part of it is getting these guys moving,
02:29 getting them out in space,
02:30 getting them where they're getting out there,
02:33 and getting these open field blocks
02:36 like Piper did on that play right there.
02:37 I'd like to see more of it because I love big men
02:40 and I love big men that can move.
02:42 - And also Grant's vision.
02:43 We talked about vision last week.
02:45 Vision on that play was right there.
02:46 Now we're gonna back up in the game.
02:47 This is, we're going to Nebraska's first scoring drive.
02:51 This is the fake field goal
02:52 which was executed to perfection.
02:53 - It was and this is,
02:55 the reason I kinda pulled this in with Anthony Grant's run
02:59 is that it's basically the same blocking scheme.
03:02 Different alignments, you got different personnel in
03:05 because it's a field goal unit
03:07 and they're running a fake off of it.
03:09 But you're gonna see a really good job
03:11 of these guys getting down blocks here,
03:14 walling that off.
03:16 You're getting a guy walled off here,
03:18 although the fact he's coming up field helps.
03:20 The thing I want you to pay attention to,
03:23 Ethan Piper, backside guard.
03:25 Same thing as on Anthony Grant's run,
03:27 pulling from the backside, coming up,
03:30 and again, he's your lead blocker on the play
03:33 just like he was on Anthony Grant's big run.
03:36 That's the kind of thing that I wanna see more of
03:39 and look how well this works here.
03:41 Again, you're gonna see Piper right here
03:44 going ahead, gets that kick out block.
03:47 And here's another view of a great view right here
03:50 where you see that lane with Piper's block
03:52 that just opens it right up.
03:54 We're seeing some strengths of what some of these guys
03:58 are capable of doing right now.
04:00 - What I hear you saying is the offensive line is growing up
04:03 in the run blocking.
04:05 - We're seeing some growth, we're seeing some development,
04:08 and I'm excited about it.
04:10 And I like seeing these guys moving and getting in space
04:13 and making these kinds of blocks.
04:16 And it's on meaningful plays.
04:17 It's big runs by the running backs.
04:19 It's fakes where you need that first down.
04:22 If you're gonna fake a field goal, you better get it.
04:24 And we're seeing the exact same basic blocking scheme
04:28 on both of those plays.
04:30 Both of them run successfully.
04:32 - So that's run blocking.
04:34 Things are getting better.
04:35 Tomorrow, we're gonna go a little bit more negative
04:37 in pass blocking, which was lacking against Law Tech.
04:40 For Dr. Rob Zaduska, I'm Travis Justice.
