00:00 >> All right, absolutely tremendous job by our crowd today.
00:05 You talk about what odds in that experience can be like.
00:08 And it was phenomenal.
00:10 It was beyond phenomenal.
00:11 It's what I love about this place so much.
00:12 We have passionate fans, more passionate fans than anybody else in the nation.
00:16 We were prepared for a battle.
00:18 It didn't end up being a battle.
00:19 But I've also been on the other end of this before too.
00:22 And I think that team's heading the right direction.
00:24 I think coach is doing a phenomenal job.
00:25 Obviously, he's brought great enthusiasm and response from his players.
00:29 And I know that they'll bounce back from this game moving forward.
00:32 On the same note, I get a little passionate at times, right?
00:35 I get a little excited about what I wanna accomplish for our team.
00:38 And I just wanna say, I need to humble myself a little bit.
00:41 This is one game, right?
00:42 And I'm not satisfied.
00:43 So I just told our players, we're about to go play great quarterbacks.
00:46 We're about to go play great teams moving forward.
00:48 And it's about how good we can become, right?
00:50 It's not really about who we play.
00:52 And it's about Oregon versus Oregon every week.
00:54 I felt like this was a complete game, offense, defense, and special teams.
00:57 Didn't create a takeaway on defense, I don't believe, but
01:01 had some big plays in all three phases.
01:04 We're dominant in all three phases.
01:05 I thought you could watch our team and say,
01:06 well, they have an identity in all three phases.
01:08 So preparing for the next one, ready to go back to work.
01:12 For Stanford, I know that they'll be ready.
01:13 This will be a road game.
01:14 We didn't play as well on the road earlier this year.
01:16 It's time for us to show what we can do on the road moving forward, so
01:19 we can open it up with questions.
01:20 >> Front right, Zach.
01:21 >> Your pregame speech became pretty popular after it got aired on the telecast.
01:26 How long you been sitting on that one?
01:27 And in general,
01:28 how do you think your players did to handle the outside noise, the distractions?
01:31 >> I thought they handled it well.
01:33 I thought they handled the focus well.
01:35 We do a pregame speech every week.
01:36 I guess there was a camera in there this time, right?
01:38 So doesn't really change our approach.
01:41 And we'll always have a message for our team.
01:43 Sometimes it's get them fired up.
01:45 Sometimes we don't necessarily need the brimstone, right?
01:48 But yeah, our guys, there is no speech that wins games.
01:53 Players win games, right?
01:54 Our players went out there and they won the game, right?
01:56 Our players went out there and executed.
01:57 Our players went out there and decided to make a decision to have poised, right?
02:01 Be focused, right?
02:03 Play with their pads and not with anything else.
02:06 And that's what I'm proud of, right?
02:08 Making that decision.
02:08 It's an us decision, right?
02:10 It's not a me decision.
02:12 >> Second row left, Eric.
02:13 >> Talk a lot about playing up to a certain standard, the defense in particular.
02:18 You said complete game, but how close are they to living up to the standard today?
02:21 And I guess what stands out that makes it that close?
02:24 >> Well, it's one standard.
02:25 Excuse me, it's one game, right?
02:27 It's one game.
02:28 It's about being consistent in your approach, right?
02:31 So I'm really pleased with them.
02:32 I thought they were dialed in.
02:34 I thought they did a good job of eliminating explosive plays.
02:37 That's a team that's created a lot of explosive plays.
02:39 I felt they had a good feel.
02:41 I thought our coaching staff did a phenomenal job.
02:44 Disappointed with the score there at the end.
02:46 But certainly something that we can build off of.
02:48 Now it's about, can you do that consistently?
02:50 Can you be consistent in your approach?
02:52 I think we learned a little bit about ourselves that patience,
02:54 there's value in patience, right?
02:56 We were able to apply pressure.
02:58 We were able to be disruptive to the quarterback.
03:00 But it wasn't like we were out there blitzing seven every down, right?
03:02 And knowing when to pitch, right?
03:04 Having some patience, having some consistency, recognizing formations and
03:09 having a feel for the game.
03:10 I thought our Tosh did a phenomenal job.
03:13 I thought our coaches did a phenomenal job and
03:15 our players did a phenomenal job of adjusting.
03:17 So have to carry that over to each week.
03:19 >> Front left, James.
03:20 >> And the message was substance and not flash.
03:24 What does it feel like that you won the way that you did and
03:28 with so much attention that's been generated by them and
03:31 you having to answer a lot of things about them?
03:33 What does it mean to you personally as a coach and for
03:35 your program to be the first to hand them a loss?
03:39 >> Yeah, I'm not hung up on that.
03:40 When if you're really about substance,
03:42 what you're really hung up on is what's next, right?
03:44 And what's next for our players.
03:46 I'm glad that we got to put Oregon in the light that Oregon deserves to be in.
03:50 But it's really not about anything else other than our team, right?
03:52 And getting our team ready to go play and
03:54 now we gotta go get ready for the next one, right?
03:56 We don't need to be the team that's reading the newspaper articles, right?
03:59 We don't need to be the team that's following Twitter cuz we didn't follow
04:02 it this week.
04:03 So we're certainly not gonna look at it next week, right?
04:05 We have to, again, humble ourselves, including myself, including our staff,
04:08 and focus on what's next.
04:10 >> Back right.
04:10 >> Coach, six different players added up to the seven sack total,
04:16 Jordan Burch leading the way.
04:18 What did you see from the pass rush unit today and
04:20 how were they able to affect your door so well?
04:22 >> Well, they haven't been a team really that's ran the ball.
04:26 And so I think we knew that there were gonna be pass rush opportunities.
04:28 And like I said, it really speaks to the patience of when we do execute a game,
04:31 let's go attack, let's go be on the move.
04:34 And I thought our guys did a good job of that.
04:36 When they don't have great balance,
04:37 it allows you to be more disruptive in the pass rush game.
04:40 It allows you to build your games on the front more so for
04:43 passing game than run game, right?
04:45 And I thought our guys did a good job of executing that.
04:49 >> Middle left, we're off.
04:49 >> No doubt a lot of eyeballs on this one.
04:52 What impression do you hope,
04:53 think that Bo might have made on everybody who's watching?
04:56 >> We got the best quarterback in the nation, right?
04:58 I know that, I can see that.
05:00 It's like again, you see all the plays that he throws and
05:03 all the plays he makes with his feet, but
05:05 you guys don't see all the checks that he makes.
05:06 You don't see what he does for this team.
05:08 You don't see his leadership.
05:09 He sent a text this morning to me that was impactful for me.
05:13 That guy shapes me, right?
05:14 That guy makes me a better person.
05:16 And we got that guy on our team, so we're so blessed to have him.
