00:00 Have you guys gotten a conclusion on Zach Durfee and that situation?
00:04 A little bit more, yeah.
00:05 We were denied initially, we have put in an appeal.
00:10 So we're waiting back for that.
00:13 Yep, that's the update.
00:15 That happened last week.
00:17 Did they give you a reason?
00:20 It's just that everything's been kind of, what they call two time transfers, right?
00:26 It's been cracked down quite a bit.
00:28 Every case is different, right?
00:30 And the hard part for me to really see through is that he's only
00:35 played football at one of those other schools.
00:39 And he was at the other one for one semester as just a student during COVID.
00:44 So they're all different scenarios.
00:48 And certainly, we're working hard and trying to get the information that's
00:53 needed, whether it's filing the initial waiver or the appeal now as well.
00:58 Would they hold that year against him?
01:02 He would lose a year.
01:03 Yeah, he would lose a year, yeah.
01:05 So he'd be a senior next year?
01:07 No, he'd have a couple years left, yeah.
01:10 How's he dealing with all that?
01:11 Yeah, I mean, Zach's a very positive guy.
01:13 And we're keeping him very involved.
01:17 And he's taking a ton of reps, just not a ton, but
01:20 he's taking some reps to work in and just stay sharp.
01:24 He brings a great mindset.
01:26 And he knows that there's a lot of football for him down the road.
01:30 It's just a matter of whether it's sooner or later.
01:32 But he's a super positive guy.
01:35 Even just yesterday, just off the cuff, just sending me text messages.
01:39 And he just loves being here.
01:41 He loves being a Husky and feels great about how being a Husky,
01:48 just even in these few months that he's been here this year,
01:51 has really led to his growth as a person and as a football player.
01:55 First reason he's gotta be a part of it, because he could help you.
01:58 He definitely could help us, yeah.
01:59 He could definitely help us.
02:00 For fans that don't know a lot about him, what does he bring to the table?
02:03 Yeah, and it's not that we don't feel good about who we have, right?
02:07 We got some great players.
02:09 But just there's a lot of things with his body type,
02:12 not just playing the edge position.
02:14 But he could be very involved in a lot of special teams.
02:17 Because he's a big guy that can run.
02:20 And he's very smart, very intelligent.
02:24 And so he's a guy that will definitely play some snaps here
02:29 in the years ahead for us that are very meaningful.
