00:00 He's good. He's good, you know, like he's always been.
00:07 And, you know, there's... we play multiple backs.
00:14 You know, statistics really don't mean anything to us.
00:20 When it comes to all the players, I mean, I'm...
00:24 It's what's good for them individually and what's good as a team.
00:31 I see it from the individual and the big picture with the team.
00:39 But, you know, each individual guy, I treat that like I'm their dad, their agent.
00:47 You know, I want what's best for their career.
00:49 So in the running back position, to make a long story short here,
00:52 we're not... I just don't believe in a guy carrying the ball 30 times a game.
00:59 That... it probably may not have some of the stats that some of the other backs have.
01:07 I mean, even Blake, I mean, running the ball really good, 97 yards.
01:13 We took him out of the game, but I'd rather...
01:15 I don't think he needs another 100-yard game as much as he needs to be healthy.
01:21 But the lifespan of a back, their career is...
01:25 I don't know what it is on average, maybe 8, 9, 10 years total, including college.
01:31 So while they're not getting paid, I don't like to take the tread off the tire.
01:37 I like to keep that tread on the tire.
01:40 So there's going to be games where one back may be featured more than another.
01:45 That's kind of how it's been here.
01:48 If you look at last year, look at the year before, look at the year before that,
01:52 all 8 years that we've been here.
01:55 So that... we'll probably have this conversation again, you know, like next week,
02:03 Dono carries more of the load, and you might ask me what happened with Blake.
02:12 Blake had a heck of a game.
02:15 Dono had less carries, but really affected the game, catching the football.
02:20 He's an outstanding back because he can do all the things.
02:24 He can run outside the tackles. He can run inside the tackles.
02:28 He can pass protect, and he can catch the ball out of the backfield and get over.
02:32 So to answer your question, absolutely nothing wrong with Donovan Edwards.
02:38 Also, it was cool, just to talk about the...
02:43 He's not into stats. Your offensive coordinator is not into how many points you score,
02:49 the yardage.
02:52 You get the ball with six minutes or so left in the game,
02:56 and if you don't turn it over, you're going to win the game.
03:01 Even if you don't make a first down, and you punt and get the ball back,
03:05 and don't get a first down again, you're going to win the game if you don't turn the ball over.
03:10 And then to watch us keep the ball, that's why it warmed the cockles of the heart
03:16 that we can do that in that situation.
03:19 Plus, we've got an offensive coordinator, and we've got a play caller that's about the team
03:24 and making sure that the team wins.
03:26 And then Kahlil Mullins, I didn't want Dono in there anymore,
03:31 and I didn't want Blake Corham in there anymore.
03:35 And then Kahlil Mullins goes in, and just the vision that I have for one of those backs being a big back,
03:46 he was really going.
03:49 I was reminded of Toby Gerhardt, watching Kahlil on those carries, and I hope that continues.
03:58 So that's pretty much the running back room right now.
04:09 And absolutely nothing wrong with the running back room.
04:13 [Inaudible]
