Princess of Wales visits AW Hainsworth and Sons, Pudsey.

00:00 The Princess of Wales visited a textile mill in Yorkshire today.
00:13 A.W. Hainsworth, based in Pudsey, received the royal visitor to give her a guided tour
00:18 of the business.
00:19 She saw the process of yarn to fabric at the firm, which has close association with her
00:24 family.
00:25 The company makes textiles for a range of clients from fashion houses like Gucci, woven
00:30 felt for Steinway pianos and red tunics worn by the guardsmen.
00:34 Amanda McLaren, A.W. Hainsworth's managing director, said, after her visit, her love
00:39 for textiles were clearly there.
00:41 She was commenting that she loved the smell of wool, for example.
00:43 She was fascinated by some of the traditional processes and also things like the dyehouse
00:48 where she could see the fabric that is worn by Buckingham Palace guards being dyed red.
00:53 And it really brought home to her the intricacies of the process and skills of our people.
