Journalist Ava Evans said she is “speechless” and “hurt” as she responded to Laurence Fox’s “vile” rant.

GB News has suspended Fox following his comments about Evans, in a segment broadcast during Dan Wootton’s show on Tuesday night (26 September).

“I’m a bit speechless, I don’t really know what to say, to be honest,” Evans said, speaking on Jeremy Vine’s Channel 5 show.

“I’m really hurt by it, I’m shocked that it went out. This is the sort of talk that you worry that men have about you when you’re not in the room.

“There’s always a worry in the back of your mind.”

Scottish National Party leader Stephen Flynn urged Ofcom to “step up” as he slammed Wootton and Fox over the “vile” discussion, as other media and political figures shared their support for Evans.

00:00 - I don't know whether you saw it go out live.
00:02 - No.
00:03 - Or somewhere.
00:04 - No, I didn't.
00:05 - I saw it on your Twitter feed, so you shared it.
00:08 Can you tell me how you feel about that?
00:10 - I don't, I think the clip speaks for itself.
00:15 I don't have anything to say about it at all.
00:17 I'm actually a journalist rather than a commentator,
00:21 and I'd much rather be judged or asked about my work
00:24 than have people talking about my body.
00:27 I just think, I don't,
00:29 sorry, I'm a bit speechless.
00:30 I just don't really know what to say.
00:31 Yeah, I'm really hurt by it.
00:33 I am.
00:34 Yeah, I'm shocked by it, actually.
00:36 I'm shocked that it went out, and I'm shocked that,
00:38 actually, do you know this is the sort of talk
00:40 that you worry that men have about you
00:43 when you're not in the room?
00:44 There's always sort of a worry in the back of your mind,
00:46 which is, are people actually interested
00:48 in what I'm saying or what I'm doing,
00:49 or are they just looking at me for, physically?
