Oregon Ducks defensive lineman Casey Rogers discusses his fake punt play against the Colorado Buffaloes.
Transcript
00:00 >> What was going through your head before the snap was actually called on that fake
00:05 punt?
00:06 >> Yeah, I mean, we had it in our game plan all week.
00:09 We knew it was something that we could do if we got in the right situation for it.
00:13 That's just us trusting our coaches to put us in the right situation to run those fake
00:17 punts like that.
00:18 Luckily, I was at the pre-classic the weekend before, so I learned a little bit how to run
00:22 fast from those guys.
00:24 So put that to work and a little bit of my old tight end days came into the picture.
00:28 But yeah, it was cool.
00:30 It's something that I never thought I would do, but the circumstances were right.
00:34 And so we went with it and changed the game a little bit.
00:37 So it was fun.
00:38 >> Paul said we might have to get a package on offense for you.
00:41 Is that in the future?
00:42 >> Totally cool with it.
00:44 Would never argue with that.
00:46 I always say, I knew that a week ago when they were talking about it, I knew if I do
00:52 get the ball in my hand, there's gonna be people on the sideline who's, I didn't know
00:55 you could run that fast.
00:56 It was a weird phenomenon that happened in high school.
00:58 Whenever I had the ball, I ran three times faster than anyone ever saw me run.
01:02 So I'm glad that that kind of came out.
01:05 And yeah, big men can run sometimes.
01:07 >> Make an analogy case, like a long stick middie making a sub on offense?
01:12 >> No, that was more like a midfielder doing an alley dodge to the cage, so playing the
01:18 rock in the cage.
