00:00 - Coach says he wants substance and not flash pregame.
00:03 And you guys back that up with nearly a shutout
00:06 and hold a passing offense under 200 yards passing.
00:09 What does it feel like?
00:11 - Honestly, it feels amazing.
00:12 It feels amazing that, you know, coach had a plan for us
00:15 and then we bought into the plan.
00:16 So it feels amazing to go out there
00:17 and perform as a defense like we should
00:18 and how we expected to.
00:20 - What works so well for you guys?
00:21 I mean, like James said, six points.
00:24 Like, what were you guys doing so well?
00:26 You've been so effective.
00:27 - I think really just putting pressure on the quarterback.
00:29 You know, that was just some things that we thought
00:31 that he didn't handle very well.
00:32 So, you know, just putting a little bit of pressure on him
00:34 and then letting the D-line go to work, so.
00:36 - How well do you think this defensive line
00:39 in front of you performed
00:40 and how much of this is attributed
00:42 to just their consistent pressure?
00:44 - Yeah, I think they played amazing overall.
00:46 I think it was, I don't know if it was like six sacks.
00:48 I don't remember.
00:49 - Seven.
00:50 - Yeah, somewhere around that.
00:51 Yeah, crazy numbers, but yeah,
00:52 I think they played tremendously well.
00:54 - We saw some advance pregame speed
00:56 when this came out through ESPN.
00:58 What was that like for you guys
00:59 just in the hours leading up to the game today?
01:01 Did it feel special?
01:02 Did it feel different than usual?
01:04 - No, not really.
01:04 I mean, shoot, just keeping our poise,
01:07 really that was it, you know.
01:08 It was just another game for us.
01:09 You know, they were the next person on our schedule.
01:11 So yeah, just keeping our poise
01:13 and then just buying into, you know, our preparation.
01:16 You know, our preparation is always gonna lead out
01:18 to great outcomes like we want them to be.
01:19 So, you know, expecting to win
01:21 is always just believing in that.
01:23 - Coming into the season,
01:24 the defense talked about being feared.
01:26 What kind of statement do you feel like
01:27 you guys put out to the nation today?
01:28 - I think we put on a real,
01:31 that we can hang with number one,
01:34 like top offenses in the nation, you know what I mean?
01:36 So yeah, we're not scared of no,
01:38 scared of no, you know, explosive offenses like that.
01:41 You know what I mean?
01:42 We've got the firepower just like, you know,
01:43 offenses do on the defensive side of the ball.
01:46 - Do you feel like the guys were maybe a little
01:48 disrespected or just not talked enough about
01:50 these last three weeks?
01:51 Just how good you guys can be?
01:53 - Yeah, I mean, shoot, always, you know,
01:55 it was a lot of hype around the game.
01:57 Obviously we all know that, but you know,
01:59 just coming down to, you know, let's earn our respect,
02:01 you know, let's go out there and earn that respect.
02:03 And I think that's what we did.
