Another Emma Roberts Cancellation Attempt!-

00:00 off of her back because this is an utterly ridiculous situation. The whole
00:03 thing is just obnoxious and absurd and another form of cancel culture trying to
00:07 take down a person for something they said literally years ago. But before we
00:11 get into the story make sure that you like this video, subscribe to the channel
00:13 if you have not already, and ring that notification bell so that you never miss
00:16 a comment section or off-the-clock episode. Alright so let's start off this
00:19 story with the first tweet that I saw. This is from Discussing Film but they
00:22 said, "Angelica Ross says that Emma Roberts misgendered her and created an
00:26 unwelcome working environment on the set of American Horror Story in 1984. She
00:30 adds that she did not report it because one person who did speak up got
00:33 repercussions for doing so." So that is the story that went viral a couple of
00:37 days ago. Pop Crave also posted about it. Angelica Ross says that Emma Roberts was
00:41 transphobic to her on set. Now you might be a little confused about all of this. I
00:45 certainly was. I never heard of Angelica Ross before. I am NOT an American Horror
00:49 Story fan. You guys know I'm a baby when it comes to things that are in the horror
00:52 genre. So you might be wondering who even is this person? What's going on? Let me
00:56 clarify a few things. So Angelica Ross is a transgender actor who is most known
00:59 for being on American Horror Story and according to AHS wiki fandom, Ross worked
01:05 on season 9 and 10 of the show and Ross was apparently supposed to star
01:10 possibly in season 11 but that never happened. Something happened there. So
01:15 just keep that in mind. Could be a motivating factor that's important to
01:18 bring up later on. Now this is what the wiki fandom page had to say about Ross's
01:22 time on AHS which I think provides again some additional context and some
01:26 motivation and they said, "During the 2023 SAG After Strike, Angelica Ross
01:30 revealed that she was on a first-position seven-year contract with
01:33 FX. This meant that as a series regular, she could not work elsewhere without the
01:36 network's approval. Filming season 10 of AHS, she was told that she would return
01:40 for season 11 but this did not happen. Meanwhile, she had to turn down a
01:43 proposal from Marvel because FX stalled in releasing her." And that actually is a
01:47 very valid complaint that happens in this industry a lot. I have a very good
01:50 friend that just went through that recently. It's heartbreaking because you
01:52 think you're gonna have this job but then you don't and then if you're
01:54 released it's just awful. Anyway, that actually is a valid concern. But then
01:57 they go on and they say, "In September of 2023, Angelica Ross expressed that she
02:01 felt powerless and silenced on the set of AHS. A crew member wore a racist t-shirt
02:07 making the set uncomfortable but only Ross spoke up and locked herself in the
02:12 van stopping filming until the man had changed. A move she likened to Emma
02:17 Roberts's white privilege whom she has used as an example of entitlement." So
02:21 Ross literally locked themselves inside of a van for protection until a crew
02:26 member changed their shirt. And in general, it seems like this person just
02:30 does not have a lot of fondness for the American Horror Story production. Again,
02:34 things to keep in mind, seems like there is possibly some bitterness and probably
02:37 a bone to pick with a production and people involved like Emma Roberts. But
02:41 anyway, back to the story. Ross revealed this information, this expose about Emma
02:45 Roberts on a live stream. This was not some accidental slip-up in an interview
02:50 that the journalist ran with or Ross giving some, you know, TED talk on gender
02:55 relations in Hollywood. Ross just blasted her on Instagram. "I'm standing in front of
03:02 Emma talking to her like this and she's, you know, she's in front of me. Her back
03:08 against the mirror." Why are we playing pretend on Instagram lives? Why are you
03:14 talking to yourself into a mirror? Why do you only have 200 viewers? What's going
03:18 on? I just, the entire thing is just very weird. We haven't even heard the meat of
03:23 it yet. Anyway, keep going. "She goes, 'John, Angelica's being mean.' And he goes, and I
03:32 know she's being, you know, she's not being for real, for real, she's just being
03:35 whatever. And John is like, 'Okay ladies, you know, that's enough. Let's, you
03:41 know, like get back to work.' And she then looks at me and she goes, she goes, 'Don't
03:47 you mean lady?' And she turns around like this and covers her mouth and goes back
03:54 here but can't see. I'm looking at her dead ass in the camera like, 'What the
03:59 did you just say?' And I'm standing there looking her dead ass in the damn thing
04:07 and I'm like trying to process the f*** she just said. And I'm like, I'm standing there
04:18 and she walked away. My blood is boiling. If I say something, it's gonna be me.
04:27 That's the problem. And I know this because there was someone who spoke up
04:33 about what she was doing and they got repercussions from it. Not her, they did.
04:39 We don't have details about that by the way. That's just one person saying this.
04:44 It's hearsay basically. So when I saw that happening, I was just like, I'm done.
04:53 I'm done. I didn't speak to that b***h the entire time after that. So we had scenes
05:02 together and I never spoke to her. She said to me, she could feel the
05:07 energy coming off of me. She was like, 'Are you okay? You haven't been talking.' I'm
05:11 like, 'Mm-hmm.' Because b***h, don't play me. You've been playing mind games with
05:19 everybody on the set and everybody's been waiting for the moment that you
05:23 would get me. Okay, we're stopping there. That's where the clip cuts. Again, why are
05:28 we on livestream talking about this? What brought it up? Why do you feel the
05:33 need to discuss this right now? Also, based on how you told the story that
05:37 Emma is like joking around, 'Oh, she's being mean to me.' Like, okay, I'm on set
05:41 right now. I'm shooting a series. We laugh. We joke all the time. We're like going
05:44 back and forth between our characters and like our real-life personalities.
05:48 We're making jokes. It's a very intense environment. You get to know these people
05:51 very, very well. She's making a joke. You were probably bantering, 'Oh, she's being
05:54 mean to me.' And then this covering her mouth was probably like, 'Oh, just made a
05:58 joke. Just one lady.' She was not like coming after you or viciously attacking
06:05 you. You yourself said that she was not being serious and that it was a joke and
06:09 then you chose not to speak to her for the rest of filming and the rest of the
06:13 production. Now, guys, an important note that I think you will find entertaining
06:15 is that all of this happened four years ago when Ross and Roberts were on the
06:19 show together. And it's incredibly ironic because that season of American Horror
06:24 Story was American Horror Story 1984, aka American Horror Story's recreation,
06:29 retelling of Orwell's dystopian novel 1984. Thought police anybody?
06:35 Wrong-speak? Like I'm sure you guys are catching on. Angelica? I don't know if the
06:41 self-awareness is there, but it is incredibly ironic. Anyway, I digress. Ross's
06:44 little expose about Roberts went viral and the internet came after Emma hard.
06:49 And remember, guys, this interaction happened when the show was in production.
06:52 So this would have been, you know, 2018, 2019. Five years ago, these topics were
06:57 not as polarized. But Emma is facing the wrath of a 2023 audience. Now, the same
07:03 day that this story went viral, that the clip started getting, you know, millions
07:06 millions of views, Emma called Ross to apologize privately. This is a very
07:11 appropriate and kind course of action to address the person who believes that you
07:15 have wronged them. Work it out privately, figure it out. And obviously, based on
07:20 what Ross said on that livestream, Emma had already tried to do that on the set
07:24 of American Horror Story, saying something's wrong, like, are you okay,
07:26 what's going on? Like, Emma seems to have done all the right things here. But I
07:30 don't think that Ross wanted this to be a privately handled matter because Ross
07:34 is now thriving with all of this newfound attention. And then went back to
07:38 social media to post this. And guys, the only reason that we know that Emma
07:41 Roberts called to apologize privately is because Angelica Ross posted about it.
07:44 Here's the tweet. "Thank you, Roberts, Emma, for calling and apologizing.
07:47 Recognizing your behavior was not that of an ally. I will leave the line open to
07:50 follow up on your desire to do better and support social justice causes with
07:53 your platform." So apparently, unless Emma posts, you know, a crying video or a
07:59 notes app apology on her Instagram, puts her pronouns in her bio and a link to a
08:02 litany of, you know, social justice causes, her apology is not real. It's not good
08:07 enough. Even though she reached out to you, is trying to make amends and figure
08:11 out what she did, that's not enough and you're gonna put her on blast yet again.
08:15 Now, considering that Emma did not go on a full-scale apology press tour,
08:19 thankfully, Ross decided to do it for her and then literally went to Vanity Fair
08:23 to talk about the situation and how Ross is now done with Hollywood. The article
08:28 reads, "Pose star Angelica Ross is over it. F*** Hollywood." In a bridge-burning
08:32 interview, the Pose and American Horror Story star explains how and why she
08:36 decided to air her alleged experiences with Ryan Murphy and Emma Roberts. Now,
08:39 I'm gonna spare you the very long read, but the short story is, Ross wanted to do
08:44 a black female-led version of American Horror Story, a black female-led season
08:48 of American Horror Story and this was pitched to the very famous showrunner
08:51 Ryan Murphy back in the summer of 2020, but Ryan Murphy did not end up pursuing
08:56 that idea. Now, my personal take is that Ross felt slighted by Ryan Murphy in
09:00 2020, was planning on leaving Hollywood anyway and wanted to take down some
09:04 people on the way out. Like, I'm sorry that Ryan Murphy did not like your idea
09:08 and didn't pursue it, but that's just how Hollywood works. That's how the world
09:11 works. You don't get your way all the time. "It's not personal, Sonny. It's strictly
09:16 business." "I doubt that." Not all of your ideas get published or produced or
09:21 created. Like, in Hollywood, you hear no ten times, a hundred times more than you
09:25 hear yes. Your job is basically to put yourself out there emotionally, whether
09:29 you're an actor or a writer, get told no and go back and try again. That's
09:32 literally what we get paid to do in a lot of ways. Now, again, I'm sparing you
09:36 the entire article, but PopBase posted an excerpt from the article where Ross is
09:40 talking about that phone call with Roberts and shared part of what was said,
09:43 and Ross said that Emma said, "I see in hindsight what I did and how stupid that
09:47 was. I'm an ally and I was like, 'No, you're not. You can't call yourself an ally.
09:51 Allyship is an action. You need to be real with me in this conversation.'" And
09:55 then Ross still wasn't done, because Ross then went to the Hollywood Reporter.
10:00 "Press tour is not over. Not ready to finish milking this yet." Here's the other
10:03 article, "Angelica Ross spills all over Emma Roberts, Ryan Murphy, and Hollywood
10:07 Future. This is not my first time at the rodeo." Now, for some reason, and this is
10:11 very sad because I like Emma Roberts as an actress, a corner of the internet just
10:14 takes issue with literally every single thing she does. Like, if you've watched me
10:17 for a while, you know that this summer I did an episode about how she was
10:20 basically canceled for doing an advertisement about real cow's milk, and
10:24 she was called an animal abuser because she wasn't promoting vegan milk instead,
10:27 and this went on for days. That episode I did got so many views because people
10:31 were so angry about it, about Emma Roberts drinking milk. I mean, come on.
10:36 Like, milk is healthy. It's good for you, just like Balance of Nature's fruits and
10:39 veggies are good for you. Now, living a healthy lifestyle can be challenging
10:42 when you are always on the go. You need simple, manageable routines to make sure
10:46 that you are getting the proper nutrition every single day, which is why
10:48 I'm a huge fan of Balance of Nature. Balance of Nature fruits and veggies are
10:51 a great way to make sure that you are getting essential nutritional ingredients
10:54 every single day. Through Balance of Nature's advanced cold vacuum process,
10:57 the vitamins, minerals, the phytonutrients of the fruits and
10:59 vegetables are preserved so that you can get that vital nutrition in every single
11:03 capsule. Balance of Nature is a whole food supplement with no additives, no
11:06 fillers, no extracts, synthetics, or pesticides, or added sugar. The only thing
11:10 in their capsules is pure fruits and veggies. Balance of Nature has been
11:13 supporting Daily Wire for the last year or so. They send us fruits and veggies
11:16 and their fiber powder very regularly, and we all use them and love them. I
11:19 think our whole team is feeling brighter, healthier, and more energetic. Now, when
11:22 you are disciplined enough to take care of your health, you reap all kinds of
11:24 benefits, so make fruits and veggies a part of your daily diet. Your body will
11:28 thank you. Go to balanceofnature.com and use promo code "COOPER" for 35% off your
11:32 first order as a preferred customer. Again, that's balanceofnature.com.
11:35 Promo code "COOPER" for 35% off your first preferred order. And I promise you, you
11:39 won't get canceled for promoting that or taking that, but you also shouldn't get
11:43 canceled for just promoting milk. It was just an utterly ridiculous situation. And
11:46 so, obviously, people were more than happy to also come after her for this.
11:49 These are some of the comments on that live stream. "Yerrr, I would have grabbed
11:53 that mop right off of her scalp." Somebody else, a verified account, said, "Oh, they
11:57 would have had to kill her off the show because she would have been in a coma in
12:00 real life and couldn't finish the season." Ah, yes. The very loving and tolerant
12:05 people on the left that we always hear about. Sounds more like the 1984 Ministry
12:08 of Love, if you ask me. But, interestingly, guys, as Ross was, you know, like I said,
12:13 milking this anti-apology press tour, the tides started to change. I saw this on
12:17 Twitter, "Emma Roberts may have been wrong in the moment, but calling to apologize
12:20 was the right move." Somebody else said, "She is clearly trying to make things
12:23 right, yet Angelica is trying to make a whole scene about it." One person even
12:27 made a poll on Twitter saying, "Who do you stand with? Emma versus Angelica." Emma
12:30 won this poll. One of my favorite TikTokers, Link Loren, also covered this
12:34 story, and his comment section was even more critical of Ross's actions. Like one
12:37 person said, "It just cries immaturity, in my opinion." Somebody else said, "Angelica
12:41 Ross will now be remembered for all of her victim bellyaching and not for her
12:44 thespian talents. How sad for her." Now, again, like I said at the beginning, I've
12:48 been dropping hints here, the timing of all of this coming out, it's just a bit
12:53 suspicious. Again, remember the motivations, Ross's experiences on the
12:57 American Horror Story production, because Emma Roberts, unlike Angelica Ross, has
13:02 come back to American Horror Story for the third time. She is in the 12th season
13:06 of American Horror Story. It's called "Delicate." It's with Kim Kardashian, and
13:09 it premiered this week. Way to make the premiere week about you, Angelica Ross.
13:15 You are not even in the show. You're bitter that you did not get a season all
13:19 about you, and you're trying to bring this show down with you. But are we
13:23 surprised? Because playing the victim pays in our culture. Like, this makes
13:27 sense in a very twisted way. Now, to Emma, I have a totally different message,
13:30 because I personally want to thank her for not apologizing to the whole world
13:34 for a single comment that one person found offensive five years ago. That would
13:39 be an absurd thing to do. You had no reason to do that, and I'm so glad that
13:42 you did not. You do not owe anybody in the public any form of apology, and
13:45 clearly, the internet is starting to side with you after all. Between this and the
13:50 stupid attempted cancellation over milk, the internet is just always going to
13:54 find something to be mad at. So with your new series just premiering, allow your
13:57 talent to speak for itself. And also, side note, the topic of this new American
14:02 Horror Story series and the fact that Kim K is acting in it seems like it
14:05 would make a good story, so maybe we'll cover that soon.
