00:00 Mega Man #30.
00:02 Of course, Wily's Robot Masters only care about fighting Mega Man, so they don't feel like telling him that Ra Moon was the one who brought them back to life.
00:10 Apparently, Wily wasn't as lazy about reprogramming them, so they can't be reasoned with.
00:16 Somehow, he and Cut Man aren't attacked, and all of the time they waste time with boring dialogue.
00:22 Guts Man defends Mega Man, and Bomb Man attacks Metal Man so that Mega Man could copy his data.
00:28 And he tells Guts Man he needs Bubble Man's data too, and gets it, so he uses the power on another robot.
00:36 It's not all that interesting to have a fight that's nothing but powers and characters I already saw, in a setting that I've already seen too.
00:44 Why is Guts Man able to plan on finishing them off when he was built by a pacifist?
00:50 Mega Man refuses to let him because they disabled them, and Flash Man lampshades that it isn't that merciful for him to be left conscious when he's this damaged.
01:00 Uncharacteristically, Mega Man doesn't care for some reason and just tells him to shut up.
01:05 It's explained that the robot with the most forgettable name got damaged by Cut Man by accident.
01:11 Protoman considerately tells Wily to relax and gives him some real food, and then when he tells Wily about Mega Man being nearby,
01:20 Wily says bravo because he's impressed by Dr. Light's protective coating.
01:25 Wily tells Protoman to keep an eye on Mega Man and see if he can tell who Wily's robot masters are fighting for.
01:32 Out of nowhere, it turns out Bomb Man knows how to boost Mega Man's headphone signal to Dr. Light,
01:39 and which was established that he didn't need to boost it.
01:43 But it's not like it would be mandatory for the plot to progress anyways.
01:48 Why is he wasting time talking to him? This wastes a whole page!
01:53 Eventually, they get threatened by more of Wily's robot masters, and when Mega Man asks if they want the world destroyed and tell them about what Raw Moon is doing,
02:03 Wood Man says that wasn't Wily's plan and tells his brothers to stand down.
02:08 So Wily assumed that Raw Moon would've taken them over, and for no reason he was wrong.
02:15 It's always annoying when the characters have a better grasp on what would actually happen than the writer does.
02:22 Eventually, Quick Man wonders if Mega Man is lying, and Shadow Man starts a whole uninteresting fight.
02:29 As usual, I can't get invested in fights involving too many characters where it constantly shifts who it focuses on.
02:35 Eventually, Shadow Man gets stuck with a bomb by Mega Man and somehow is still able to run away,
02:41 and Quick Man explains that some robot in the ruins must be loyal to Raw Moon.
02:46 Mega Man tells one of the robots that he stopped his power leakage and short circuits,
02:52 since Dr. Light was smart enough to make him able to do that, for no reason,
02:57 and Proto Man shows up, and Mega Man wastes time telling him off at a time like this.
03:02 Whatever happens to him being super nice?
03:05 Proto Man gives them exposition about which robot masters can be trusted.
03:10 He has way too much dialogue in one text bubble, and it really contrasts with stuff like the early Jetsons comics.
03:17 If the earliest comics were forced to only have so much dialogue in a text bubble, that was better.
03:24 Proto Man naturally points out that Mega Man's questions aren't important right now,
03:28 and says he'll show them an underground passage, and says moving while he would only get him in danger
03:33 and keep him from finishing his counterweapon against Raw Moon.
03:37 At first, Mega Man complains about the idea of following his orders,
03:41 because now the all-loving hero who reasons with robot masters is a grudge-holding hothead.
03:47 I guess Proto Man thinks it'd be too hard on him to say sorry.
03:51 I guess everyone is just assuming that his counterweapon is gonna be immune to being taken over by Raw Moon,
03:58 because otherwise he shouldn't even be excited about it.
04:01 Mega Man starts making orders too about which robots get to stay with him.
04:05 Snake Man and Needle Man deeper in the ruins get brainwashed by Raw Moon,
04:10 which makes me wonder why they weren't like this earlier.
04:13 And the story ends there.
04:15 It's not like it really mattered whether the Mega Man 2 robot masters were on Raw Moon's side or not,
04:21 because they got disabled after the fight,
04:23 and either way they're fighting Mega Man and don't really have interesting personalities.
04:29 Mega Man issue 31.
04:31 Mega Man and his friends bore me with predictable dialogue about them not really liking Proto Man
04:36 for two pages until they get threatened by some moving spikes.
04:40 Mega Man uses the super arm and tells Rush to push something,
04:44 and then saves Needle Man and his ally.
04:47 And eventually Snake Man gets pinned to the wall by Mega Man.
04:51 And since he doesn't get interrupted in all of that talking,
04:54 I have to assume Needle Man ran away off screen.
04:57 It doesn't make sense because he was brainwashed to try to kill Mega Man,
05:01 only for it to look like he was forgotten about by the writer.
05:05 Mega Man immediately goes outside and is confused that it's morning,
05:09 because he didn't think he was in the tunnel for that long.
05:12 I hope this is going to be explained if he's questioning this.
05:16 You'd think a robot would have a perfect sense of time.
05:20 Then there's more pages that are wasted on Mega Man calling Dr. Light,
05:24 even though he needs every second.
05:27 Radio tech?
05:29 That's where they spread the immunization formula?
05:33 But we were clearly told Raw Moon made all technology not work anymore.
05:39 We see a Robot Master saving people from a flood that happens for no apparent reason.
05:45 Elec Man is using his electricity power for his chef,
05:48 while Time Man is slowing down time in a surgery room.
05:52 I have to assume that they're really far apart,
05:54 because obviously Elec Man's needed there more.
05:58 Then Mega Man has to deal with another robot who dodges attacks easily.
06:03 When Mega Man tells him about what Raw Moon's doing,
06:06 he says that wasn't the plan,
06:08 but he gets attacked and Raw Moon possesses him,
06:11 and eventually Mega Man shoots him and that causes Raw Moon to stop bothering with him.
06:16 Then eventually Mega Man says they need backup and get a lot of it thanks to Proto Man,
06:21 and surprisingly it's explained away that Proto Man fixes the damaged robot,
06:25 because he's a mechanic all of a sudden.
06:28 Why did this guy doubt that he was Mega Man's brother just because he's a jerk?
06:32 So the robots use their weapons causing damage to the room Raw Moon's in,
06:37 and then all of a sudden Mega Man says Raw Moon's at the heart of the temple,
06:40 as if they're far away from him and they need to make a shortcut.
06:44 Then they get threatened by all of the brainwashed robots,
06:48 and Wily's made to think that Mega Man and Proto Man can't handle this.
06:52 Raw Thor eventually gets possessed, the first chance Raw Moon gets,
06:57 which maybe he should've seen coming when he beats the robot off of Raw Moon,
07:01 and Proto Man stupidly saves Wily.
07:04 Mega Man eventually gets told by Proto Man that he's sorry about what he did to Raw,
07:08 and the story ends already.
07:10 Boy, there sure were a lot of wasted panels.
07:13 Mega Man issue 32
07:16 After a page wasted on boring recap,
07:19 Mega Man reveals his Mega Buster isn't damaging Raw Thor,
07:23 so somehow he asks how they're supposed to stop him,
07:27 and Proto Man has to tell him to use one of his weapons,
07:31 so he uses every one.
07:34 That's good for variety, but isn't it supposed to be common sense of Mega Man
07:39 to instantly start using another one of his weapons?
07:43 Raw Moon thankfully explains that watching the robots fight was fun to him,
07:47 which is why he let them stay immune to his power for so long.
07:52 Glad that plot hole was filled.
07:54 And now he's wised up enough to get rid of that.
07:58 Proto Man runs in front of Mega Man to shield him,
08:02 and Mega Man is told that other people will do the fighting for him somewhere else,
08:06 so eventually he attacks Raw Thor as much as he can until he defeats him,
08:11 and gets told he used all of his weapon energy.
08:14 Raw Moon mentions the design of the Robot Masters perfected by his power,
08:19 only to summon a cool looking version of the Yellow Devil,
08:23 rather than a Robot Master.
08:25 This thing and Raw Moon never looked like they were from the Mega Man franchise.
08:29 With this thing having one eye in it,
08:31 it reminds me of the Sheikah in the Twilight Realm of Zelda.
08:35 Although that's a compliment, I'll take anything refreshing.
08:39 There's no way Wily and Proto Man would have all of this time to talk without getting attacked.
08:45 Proto Man says he'll protect him.
08:48 A charge shot does nothing,
08:50 and because it didn't even flinch in response to the attack,
08:54 that told Wily that Raw Moon is directly controlling Raw Devil, dividing his power,
09:00 which means his defenses are down.
09:03 The word "controlling" would have made sense here, but not "powering".
09:08 I think because they're robots,
09:10 it would have made sense for them to have the time to explain battle strategies
09:16 if they were sending their messages to the other robots telepathically,
09:20 in a way that was much faster than normal speech.
09:23 Mega Man gets told that one charge shot won't be enough,
09:27 and that his power matrix can't support two Mega Buster cannons,
09:31 and he might tear himself to shreds that way.
09:34 He somehow expects Wily to take him back to Dr. Light after this.
09:38 I wish he had a thought bubble explaining that he knows the robot masters surrounding him would force him to.
09:44 And his shot is successful, meaning that something portrayed as so dangerous died in two measly attacks at once.
09:51 And it's surprising that Mega Man is still conscious after this after what Wily said.
09:56 It's too bad the two Mega Buster thing was also a part of the game, instead of being a new idea.
10:03 Not that it was that hard to come up with anyways.
10:06 Days later, we see Otto mowing the lawn, and Roll puts a blanket over Dr. Light,
10:11 and she sees a news broadcast explaining that people still don't know the cause of the global blackout,
10:18 even though you'd think people would remember the Landfront Ruins fiasco, and instantly assume it's that,
10:25 and even though it'd be easy to put a camera in front of the wreckage of Ra Moon,
10:29 and people not knowing the cause is just gonna scare them into thinking it'll happen again,
10:34 and coming up with silly theories about what could cause it.
10:38 The news explains that the robot masters made reconstruction efforts in hours,
10:43 and rescuing easily, despite being controversial at first, realistically.
10:49 Still, if Dr. Light never made sentient robots in the first place,
10:53 Wily would've never ended up with Ra Moon anyways, and made the mess that these guys are cleaning up.
11:00 So I understand if the Emerald Spears still aren't convinced after this.
11:05 It's too bad most of the page is way too vague to actually establish what they're doing to save people.
11:11 Rool tells Dr. Light there's someone at the door, and it turns out to be that Guts Man carried Mega Man to him,
11:17 and Wily's pretending to care about him to manipulate him into hiding him in his house,
11:21 even though he could get arrested for harboring a fugitive.
11:25 So Dr. Light sure is optimistic to think he'll be fine,
11:29 and somehow I'm supposed to believe Ra Moon's still able to talk after this.
11:34 There's no way the other robots wouldn't have attacked it even more to make sure there'd be nothing left of it,
11:39 or at least torn it apart for scrap metal to use.
11:42 Which they would obviously bring to Dr. Light after this.
11:46 Ra Moon tells his children to take the Earth and avenge him in this forced sequel hook.
11:51 Anybody would assume that the sequel hook would be followed up on, but somehow it wasn't.
11:58 Mega Man issue 33.
12:01 It wastes a surprising amount of time on explaining how Mega Man's being repaired.
12:06 It's only interesting that Wily tells Otto not to plug the E-Tank in somewhere,
12:11 because Mega Man's power core is so unstable he had to reroute everything to keep his brain intact.
12:17 Dr. Light says Mega Man's strong enough to make it,
12:20 so naturally Wily complains about him giving Mega Man all of the credit when he's the one who saved both of his sons.
12:27 Which causes him to unexpectedly grab Wily by the shirt and ask him what he's done recently.
12:33 He asks what happened to Proto Man and gets told he repaired him.
12:38 As I'm disappointed that apparently Proto Man was too chicken to come here after all,
12:44 Otto lampshades them not calling the police on Wily,
12:47 and when he gets mad at him, Dr. Light tells him to relax and have a shower.
12:52 Dr. Light says they should shut down Mega Man so they could do more intensive repairs.
12:57 I don't know why Mega Man isn't already considered shut down,
13:01 considering that he's unconscious.
13:04 It's established that Roll's running tests on Mega Man's systems,
13:08 and Otto doubts that Wily was actually brainwashed by Ra Moon.
13:13 Well of course, his EMP waves need to be as intense as possible for them to affect organic beings,
13:20 so I guess they're assuming they were wrong about that.
13:23 It was smart of him to lie about that because he did show he could brainwash robots,
13:27 even though he's not one, but they think of robots that are sentient as like people anyways.
13:33 Roll wishes that she had been the one to volunteer to be Mega Man,
13:36 so that Mega Man wouldn't have had to suffer through it.
13:39 And eventually, Dr. Light thanks Wily for helping with the repairs as he shakes his hand.
13:45 Cern and Rosie show up and want Wily to follow them,
13:49 and logically Wily yells at Dr. Light, assuming that he's the reason they're here.
13:54 So I guess the reason Dr. Light didn't tell Otto, even in a whisper,
13:59 is that he didn't trust Otto to not spill the beans.
14:03 But it's pretty weird of him to not trust him at all.
14:06 Dr. Light explains that he can't get away with keeping him here.
14:10 Well, maybe he could've, so I guess the real reason is he was scared.
14:15 And Cern says they've known he was here for days,
14:17 and only let him stay here so long because he was helping Dr. Light.
14:22 Even though he would know how to fix Mega Man himself.
14:26 So I guess the logic is he's making Mega Man get fixed faster because there's another person helping him.
14:32 Rosie tries to have it make sense better by saying that the mess made by Global Blackout made fudging paperwork easier.
14:40 And Dr. Light says the agent's bent the law and apologizes.
14:44 Wily lies and whines, and Dr. Light says he'll pay for his bail and negotiates for him to stay with him under house arrest.
14:52 Cern doubts anyone will believe Wily's story.
14:55 I'll be impressed if that's true.
14:58 And unfortunately, Mega Man says he can vouch for Wily.
15:01 It would've been nice if Wily being here was going to be permanent, and it won't be.
15:06 That would require guts.
15:09 When we could've had the other game adaptations have a different villain be responsible for them.
15:14 If the Ruby Spears cartoon could get away with being not like the games, why come to this comic?
15:20 I think a comic like that cartoon would've been a lot more interesting.
15:25 Mega Man gets helped to his feet by Rool, and he vouches for Wily that he was fighting Ra Moon.
15:31 Which is only indirectly true because all he did was build Ra Thor.
15:34 What he would've said is that Wily gave him the idea that Ra Moon was vulnerable.
15:41 Rosie wonders if Wily programmed those memories into Mega Man.
15:45 And Dr. Light explains that he tried that before, and he made sure it couldn't happen again, since when did Wily ever try to give him fake memories?
15:54 But it's smart of him to make Mega Man tamper-proof.
15:57 And for some reason he has to tell them that Wily wouldn't have had the time to mess with them anyways.
16:04 Mega Man says he'll go back to the ruins for him, and Wily thanks him.
16:08 I think it would be common sense to not show that, because we've already seen the ruins.
16:13 Dr. Light tells Mega Man to hang in there and apologize, and Wily hopes he'll have his say in court.
16:19 Even though it's usually stupid for someone to try to argue in their own defense in court.
16:24 So he'd be better off having a lawyer, which would be provided to him.
16:28 Then the paparazzi record him telling his side of the story, and Dr. Light gives a boring speech to them and doesn't answer their questions.
16:37 Mega Man removes his armor and Roll hugs him.
16:40 Otto praises Mega Man and gets thanked, and Dr. Light hugs him and doesn't complain about being called "Dad".
16:47 Nor does he point out that he should've let him call him that the whole time and explain himself.
16:52 So where's the self-awareness?
16:54 You'd think if he was such a nice guy, he would point that out.
16:58 I mean, I always thought that the time he would call him "Dad" would be treated like it mattered.
17:05 We see Robot Masters pouring concrete and helping to rescue people in a lifeboat, get rid of debris, power the city, and suck up an oil spill.
17:15 Mega Man insists on going back to the ruins even though he was told to stay here, and Shadow Man runs out of the ruins as the story ends.
17:24 This issue is about Mega Man and his friends participating in boringly uncreative fights against Wily's robots,
17:30 where they disable most of them in a setting we've already seen, and eventually they get vital exposition from Proto Man.
17:38 As usual with this comic, there's not much to talk about in summary other than the obvious that the pacing's too slow, and there's basically nothing interesting here.
17:49 This issue is about Mega Man and his friends making their way to Raw Moon with nothing actually new happening,
17:56 with Raw Moon possessing Raw Thor, which just makes Wily look like an idiot for getting excited over his creation as if he was immune to this.
18:05 The review of this was short because too much of the story was just padding. I can't care about a fight with too many characters and no new ideas.
18:15 This story was about Mega Man discovering that almost every attack he tries against Raw Moon's minions fails,
18:22 and when Wily tells him that Raw Devil not flinching means Raw Moon's defenses are down from directly controlling it,
18:29 Mega Man reveals out of nowhere that he can turn both of his arms into arm cannons, even though using two charge shots at once would damage him somehow.
18:38 I assume this makes sense because Dr. Light made him capable of this in case of an emergency after the Mega Man 2 adventure,
18:45 so I can accept it, even if he probably wouldn't have expected Wily to be a threat again without the resources.
18:53 But I wish it was established before this because it coming out of nowhere could make people feel like it was an ass pull when it could've easily been that one charge shot was enough.
19:02 If the idea was to require two charge shots to make Raw Moon look really tough, it didn't work at all because it's still indicating a pathetic amount of health for a boss fight to die in two charge shots.
19:15 It'd be better if it was explained that it can heal itself, and so he has to use two charge shots at once.
19:22 And the story ends with Wily going right up to Dr. Light for some reason, so maybe he's out of materials to make new robots and needs to take advantage of Dr. Light for some.
19:33 This story pads out Mega Man getting repaired for most of the issue for no reason which sucks because it's depressing,
19:40 and the only thing new about it is that Wily's here and Mega Man's eyes are open the whole time which is depressing,
19:48 and then reality ensues because Dr. Light did tell the police Wily was with him, I guess out of cowardice, and Wily did get arrested,
19:56 at least the story was kinda interesting because Wily was there helping out.
20:01 But again, he didn't contribute anything unique, so it was just uncreative.
20:07 It could've skipped past the whole time he was broken, and we would've missed nothing in terms of story content.
20:15 I guess it was alright, because Wily was being helpful.
