It Will Have a Range of 300 Miles, Will Start Under $50.000, New Honda Prologue EV 2024

Honda revealed additional details about the 2024 Prologue, including the fact that its dual-motor all-wheel drive system will produce approximately 288 hp

Honda has been teasing the Prologue for what feels like an eternity, with the first sketches set to be released in May 2022, followed by real-life images in October. Now, almost a year later, the automaker has released additional details.

One of the biggest reveals is that pricing will start "above $40,000" before incentives or tax credits. This suggests that the model will cost between $45,000 and $50,000. We'll learn full pricing details closer to launch, but pre-orders will begin later this year, with deliveries to follow in early 2024.

Along with ballpark pricing, Honda announced that the crossover's available dual-motor all-wheel drive system will have around 288 hp (215 kW / 292 PS) and 333 lb-ft (451 Nm) of torque. Customers will also be able to get a front-wheel-drive version that promises "confident acceleration and maximum efficiency".

Speaking of the latter, Honda says a variant will have an EPA range of around 300 miles (483 km). This is a very respectable figure and is made possible by the 85 kWh lithium-ion battery pack, which can reach a range of 105 km (65 miles) in as little as ten minutes thanks to DC fast charging capacity of up to 155 kW.

Since the design is old news, we'd like to point out that the crossover sports an aerodynamically optimized exterior that embraces gentle curves and flowing surfaces. 19-inch wheels come standard, but 21-inch wheels will also be available.

In terms of size, the model has a wheelbase that is 192 inches (4,877 mm) long and 121.8 inches (3,094 mm) wide. This makes the Prologue 2.9 inches (74 mm) longer than the Passport, although the model's wheelbase is 10.9 inches (277 mm) longer.
