00:00 In this day and age, the earlier you take care of your skin, the better it ages.
00:06 A lot of young people now are exposed to different skincare routines and that is a good thing.
00:12 Aging, however, is inevitable.
00:15 But how you take care of your skin is the key to aging gracefully.
00:28 Hello everyone, I'm Elle Bilangueva and we are back here at their clinic.
00:31 In the first part of this episode, we discussed old therapy and the different anti-aging skincare products.
00:37 In this part of the episode, we will talk about two of the most popular cosmetic procedures,
00:42 Botox and dermal fillers.
00:45 Look, I've heard about Botox before and I know there are a lot of misconceptions about it.
00:50 For our audience, can you tell them what is Botox?
00:54 Yes, Botox is actually Botulinum Toxin A.
00:58 Botox is a brand.
00:59 So people get confused when they go to a clinic.
01:03 They say, "Can I have a Botox treatment?"
01:05 So they don't know that Botox is actually a brand.
01:08 There are so many brands of Botulinum Toxin.
01:12 And Botox is the first in the market.
01:15 Actually, what it does is the toxin,
01:19 they are afraid when they say toxin, they think that it paralyzes the muscles.
01:25 No, actually, they only relax the muscles.
01:28 The muscles in particular that causes those dynamic lines.
01:34 When you say dynamic lines, these are the lines that come out when you do facial expressions.
01:38 For example, you have a big smile, you have a number 11 here,
01:43 or you're smiling, you have a crow's feet here,
01:46 or when you raise your eyebrows,
01:50 you have a big smile, you have a lot of lines.
01:52 So you develop these so-called dynamic lines.
02:16 For people my age, is Botox recommended?
02:19 Or what age is it that can be injected with Botox?
02:24 As long as you already have those dynamic lines,
02:28 then we can actually do Botox.
02:30 Usually, 18 years old and up, especially for medical purposes.
02:34 For example, if you have teeth grinding,
02:37 and it hurts when you lock your jaw,
02:39 so we can do Botox on the jaw area.
02:40 Not necessarily just because of cosmetic reasons.
02:44 How long does the Botox effect last?
02:46 The Botox effect usually lasts from 3 to 6 months.
02:49 It also depends on your lifestyle, and of course,
02:51 it depends on how much you put on.
02:54 Sometimes, if you put more, the result lasts longer.
02:56 And then when you start using Botox, you can already see the results.
03:00 Sometimes, after 3 days, you start seeing results,
03:03 and the maximum results will come out after a week.
03:06 Oh, okay. So you need to be injected again after that 6-month period?
03:11 Yes, after that 6-month period.
03:12 Or if you don't have to wait,
03:14 you can start having Botox on the 3rd or 4th month.
03:18 Contrary to what other people think,
03:20 they think that if you have Botox, you're already hooked.
03:24 You always need to get Botox.
03:26 Because they feel that if the result is gone, it worsens.
03:30 But it's not actually.
03:31 Because if the line is gone, then you start comparing
03:34 that, "Oh, this is my face during Botox."
03:37 And then when the effect is gone, you see the lines again.
03:40 But sometimes, when you see the lines, it's less.
03:43 Because it's improving.
03:47 And you're already avoiding the effects.
03:49 You're preventing the lines.
04:08 Aside from Botox and Illtherapy,
04:10 what procedures can you recommend for aging skin?
04:14 One of the procedures that we really like recommending to patients
04:19 because as we get older, we lose fat on certain areas.
04:23 Like here on the mid-face, around the eyes and around the mouth.
04:28 And of course, here also on the sides and on the temples,
04:32 is really dermal fillers.
04:35 The nice thing about dermal fillers,
04:36 it can actually restore the contour of the face.
04:41 So contrary to what other people think,
04:43 "Oh, I don't need a dermal filler because my face is already fat."
04:47 No, because it can be fat, but without shape.
04:51 So the dermal filler can actually bring back the shape of your face,
04:55 provided it's done correctly.
04:58 So I like doing dermal fillers.
05:00 Later, we have a friend and I'll show you how it's done.
05:03 Okay, Doc, let's go.
05:06 (upbeat music)
05:08 Well, we are here at the anti-aging room
05:13 where we do most of the anti-aging treatments
05:15 like the therapy and injectables.
05:17 And here is our beautiful patient.
05:20 I'm sure you know her, Ms. Almira Mula.
05:23 So she's gonna do a filler,
05:26 and then later on, we'll do a little bit of Botox.
05:30 (laughing)
05:31 Natural Botox.
05:32 Natural.
05:34 You mentioned earlier that Botox is a toxin, right?
05:37 Is filler the same or is it different?
05:40 No, filler actually is hyaluronic acid gel.
05:44 Hyaluronic is present in our skin naturally,
05:47 so it gives plumpness.
05:49 And as we age, we lose those sloping lines.
05:54 What happens is, we get hills and valleys.
05:58 So sometimes, it gets swollen here,
06:01 and here, it gets puffy, and here, it gets swollen.
06:03 So that causes actually sagging of the skin.
06:06 Doc, how do you do it?
06:08 I'm excited to see this.
06:09 So of course, at first, we will mark the area to be injected.
06:13 And I also mark the area that should not be injected
06:16 to avoid an unnatural look.
06:18 And for the case of Almira,
06:21 she only wants a little filler.
06:24 That's how she is.
06:25 A little filler, a little Botox, right?
06:28 Because she doesn't want to have an overdone look,
06:30 and of course, she doesn't want to have an unnatural look.
06:34 I need to have an expression.
06:36 Yes, she needs to have an expression.
06:39 Because she's an artista,
06:40 and she's going to have a teleseries soon.
06:43 So it needs to be natural.
06:46 Of course, if you want to add more,
06:48 then you can add again after a few months.
06:51 So that's what she wants.
06:54 So when you put the filler here,
06:56 you lift it lower.
06:58 So that helps with the overall look.
07:03 Thank you so much, Dr. Eugene, for your time
07:26 and for letting us in your clinic.
07:28 How can they reach you?
07:29 And maybe you have final tips for our viewers.
07:32 What I actually want them to remember is
07:35 the skin is actually a reflection of your health.
07:38 So it's important to live a healthy lifestyle.
07:41 And of course, eat properly.
07:43 And always remember that having a healthy skin
07:47 is a necessity and not a luxury.
07:49 Yes, I love that.
07:51 Take note, guys, all of Dr. Eugene's advice.

08:14 I've learned a lot from this episode.
08:18 But you know what, guys?
08:20 My one takeaway is that there are many options out there
08:23 when it comes to taking care of your aging skin.
08:25 There are non-invasive procedures like Otherapy
08:29 and injectables like Botox and Dermal Thillers.
08:33 And for those who are not into these cosmetic procedures,
08:37 there are products in the market you can buy
08:39 that actually work.
08:40 Just make sure that you get what Dr. Jean recommended.
