Dan Dickau gives an update on Gonzaga's pursuit of Zoom Diallo, 5-star recruit in 2024 class
Former Gonzaga All-American Dan Dickau has the latest on Gonzaga's interest in five-star recruit Zoom Diallo

00:00 Gonzaga Nation, I'm your host Dan Dickow with just a quick update in the world of recruiting.
00:07 I know our journalist Cole Forsman has had a few updates here and there in regards to
00:12 some home visits, some on-campus visits, some visits where coaches are out and about seeing
00:18 players.
00:20 But the one that's interesting of note is Zoom Diallo, who is from Curtis, just outside
00:26 the Tacoma area, transferring down to prolific prep down in North Bay, California area, Napa,
00:37 California, to a terrific prep school where a number of four and five star players across
00:42 the country are playing.
00:44 Zoom Diallo being one of them forgoing his senior year at Curtis and heading down there
00:48 to play.
00:49 Gonzaga is still very much in the mix as a potential destination.
00:56 Some people think Gonzaga is the favorite.
00:57 At this moment, it's hard to say.
00:59 But RJ Barsh, also being from Tacoma and an assistant coach, I'm sure has a great insight
01:07 into how Gonzaga and staff can get this one done for Coach Few.
01:14 It's interesting at prolific prep because when you look at their roster, they've got
01:17 players as mentioned, four stars, five stars that are being recruited all over the place.
01:23 They just had a player just a couple of days ago commit to Nate Oates in Alabama, who obviously
01:29 now has become one of the premier destinations in all of college basketball.
01:33 So with the fact that a target like Zoom Diallo is at prolific prep, I'm sure he's got interest
01:41 from schools all across the country, which we know he does.
01:45 But Gonzaga is in his final list.
01:47 He has taken a visit to Gonzaga at a game sometime last year.
01:53 Lots of different recruiting news that just kind of is out there.
01:58 You got to kind of sift through at this time of the year if that's really what you're interested
02:01 in and figure out what's smoke, what's true, and what you want to rely upon as the truth.
02:09 So good to hear that there's lots of interest in the world of recruiting.
