64-year-old Stephen Paddock
opened fire on a crowd of concert-goers
from his hotel room on the 32nd floor of
the Mandalay Bay on the Las Vegas strip.
Targeting a crowd of thousands,
Paddock killed 83 people and
wounded more than 800.
Over the course of several days
leading up to the shooting, Paddock
had covertly amassed an arsenal of
high-powered weapons in his room.
Using bump-stock attachments,
he was able to fire off more than
1,100 rounds of ammunition
during the 10-minute attack.
With his hotel suite
surrounded by authorities,
Paddock died by a self-inflicted
gunshot wound to the head.
His motive remains unknown.
The shooting is the deadliest in U.S. history
