00:00 and Joey an extra minute sometimes to get up here.
00:02 - I need at least that extra minute.
00:04 You know, climbing the Mount Suribachi over here,
00:07 Fox News, getting up these stairs.
00:09 (laughing)
00:10 - Moving, moving well.
00:11 It's great to see you and Joey, great to have you.
00:14 I will tell you this, though,
00:15 Will did not want to take off.
00:16 - I don't blame him, I don't blame him.
00:18 It's so much fun working with you guys,
00:19 I couldn't imagine having to take off.
00:20 - No, it was actually a--
00:21 - He's bummed.
00:22 - No, no, it's a court mandated cool off period
00:24 between him and Rachel.
00:25 - Oh, okay.
00:26 (laughing)
00:27 - That's what it is.
00:28 - So, Will went down for a weekend and then he'll be back.
00:31 - You know, I flew up here from Georgia,
00:32 down in the south where all the good men are.
00:34 - Yes.
00:35 - Yes.
00:36 - Well, the interns are all happy
00:37 that Will took the weekend off.
00:38 (laughing)
00:39 - That's true.
00:40 - Bringing that one back for a few weeks to go.
00:41 - All right, well, welcome, Joey.
00:43 It's great to have you.
00:43 - Welcome, and Georgia play today?
00:44 - Georgia plays today.
00:46 You can see the colors, the lapel.
00:47 We're gonna cover college football,
00:49 some other teams, but go Dawgs.
00:50 - Okay.
00:51 - All right.
00:52 Well, we're gonna turn now to Washington
00:53 because we are less than 18 hours away
00:56 from a government shutdown.
00:58 - Well, fire up the countdown clock.
01:00 The House failing to pass a last ditch spending plan
01:03 yesterday with 21 Republicans and all Democrats voting no
01:07 on a bill put forth by Speaker Kevin McCarthy.
01:10 - Alexandria Hoff is gonna join us live from Washington
01:12 with the latest.
01:13 Alexandria.
01:14 - Good morning.
01:15 We are approaching territory where a shutdown
01:16 does seem inevitable at this point.
01:18 Yesterday, that stopgap funding bill,
01:20 which could have potentially provided more time,
01:22 failed in final passage.
01:24 The 21 hardliners, the Republicans,
01:27 voted against their own party's efforts.
01:28 They declined to support the deal
01:30 despite its steep spending cuts
01:32 and enhanced border security provisions.
01:34 So with all other avenues really exhausted,
01:36 last night, House Speaker Kevin McCarthy
01:38 spoke about potentially passing what he called
01:40 a clean, continuing resolution
01:42 that would be without aid for Ukraine.
01:44 - I think if we had a clean one without Ukraine on it,
01:49 we could probably be able to move that through.
01:51 I think if the Senate puts Ukraine on there
01:53 and focuses Ukraine over America,
01:55 I think that could cause real problems.
01:58 - House Speaker McCarthy rejected
02:00 a bipartisan Senate spending bill
02:01 that would include $6 billion for Ukraine.
02:04 So with just hours until all government functions
02:07 deemed non-essential are put on pause,
02:09 the White House is pointing the finger.
02:12 - As you all know, extreme House Republicans
02:16 are solely, solely to blame
02:19 for marching us toward a shutdown.
02:21 That is what we're seeing right now.
02:24 It is a basic fact.
02:25 - Well, the fact is that the federal deficit
02:28 is now at $1.5 trillion.
02:30 So has President Biden's policies played a role
02:33 in this fiscal showdown?
02:34 - Spending is at the heart of this impasse.
02:38 So does the president bear any responsibility
02:40 for a shutdown?
02:42 - Absolutely not.
02:42 They've taken the smallest amount of spending,
02:45 do nothing about taxes for the rich,
02:48 and they wanna cut the smallest amount of spending.
02:51 That's not serious fiscal conversation.
02:54 - Well, we have representatives
02:56 Morgan Luttrell and Dan Crenshaw.
02:58 They're gonna help break down the status
02:59 of the potential shutdown that's coming up
03:01 at 8.40 this morning.
03:03 Pete, Rachel, Joey, we'll send it back to you.
03:06 - Thank you so much.
03:06 - Thanks, Alexandria.
03:07 - So disingenuous.
03:08 I mean, the debate, really, a big part of that debate
03:11 on government spending and the shutdown
03:13 is really about Ukraine money.
03:16 And she's like, "Oh, it's about, you know,
03:17 "they wanna cut money for Head Start."
03:20 And you know, that's not true.
03:21 It's about Ukraine money.
03:22 You can decide for yourselves whether you think
03:25 the strategy that Matt Gaetz is using is a good one
03:28 or if they're gonna lose in the end and get less cuts,
03:31 but it really is about separating that Ukraine money.
03:35 - Yeah, and the border.
03:37 - And the border.
03:38 - And the border, for sure.
03:38 I mean, the hard part is it's a losing proposition.
03:42 When you don't control the Senate
03:43 and you don't control the White House,
03:45 there's very little,
03:46 you're not gonna get all of what you want.
03:47 The question is, what do you prioritize to get?
03:50 Ukraine is certainly one of those at this point.
03:52 - And that's where, with McCarthy,
03:53 you have to look at him and say, "In leadership,
03:54 "can you not galvanize them around one of these issues?"
03:57 Like, say the border.
03:58 If the entire Republican caucus was galvanized
04:00 around the border, they probably could get that done.
04:02 There's pressure among the people in the country.
04:04 You could probably push the Senate towards it.
04:06 But when you have Gaetz and others that want the attention,
04:09 that wanna be able to raise money,
04:10 that wanna be able to improve their own profile
04:12 and this is what they have wedged for themselves,
04:15 if you can't find something
04:16 to really get 'em passionate about,
04:18 they're gonna chew you alive and that's what's happening.
04:20 - Yeah, it's interesting to hear Democrats, by the way,
04:22 complain about, "Oh no, the border.
04:24 "They're gonna, the border,
04:26 "the shutdown's gonna affect the border."
04:27 As if they gave any care about that.
04:30 - And the tricky part is that the Republican caucus
04:32 is split on Ukraine.
04:33 So it's getting people on the same page with that
04:36 is an issue that people are passionate about.
04:38 You can't herd that.
04:40 - Well, and on this issue--
04:41 - Without Democrats.
04:42 - Well, on this issue, there is a person who is a Democrat
04:45 who both believes in taking away funding from Ukraine
04:47 and securing the border.
04:49 - Well, not anymore.
04:49 - Well, maybe not a Democrat anymore.
04:51 Maybe that's the story, right?
04:53 - So Robert F. Kennedy Jr.,
04:55 he's gonna make a big announcement in about a week
04:57 and we think it might be on an independent run
05:00 to be splitting the ticket.
05:01 The question is, does it take away from Donald Trump
05:04 or does it take away from Joe Biden?
05:06 - Yeah.
05:06 - Before we get to that, can I just say,
05:08 Joe Biden brought this on and the Democrat Party.
05:11 - By not allowing him to be part of the process.
05:13 They won't debate him.
05:15 Joe Biden won't even let him,
05:17 imagine with his family history,
05:19 won't even give him Secret Service protection.
05:22 That is absolutely unbelievable.
05:25 - And that's the headline, consider the source,
05:27 but the headline is,
05:29 'cause we know he's making a major announcement,
05:32 this particular small blogging website
05:34 believes that it might be an independent run.
05:36 That's what they're hearing.
05:37 Here's Robert F. Kennedy himself in an ad
05:40 teasing that, you know,
05:42 you could say his last name is Kennedy,
05:44 so he takes from Biden,
05:45 but you could also say he's an outsider
05:47 with an independent streak, anti-establishment,
05:49 so maybe he carves a little bit into Trump too.
05:51 It's, I don't know.
05:53 - It's hard to say.
05:54 - I think the biggest thing we have to compare him to
05:56 would probably be Bernie Sanders.
05:58 There were a lot of Bernie bros that swung towards Trump
06:00 and there were a lot of Bernie bros
06:01 that had nothing to do with Joe Biden or Hillary Clinton.
06:04 So, you know, maybe you can look back at data,
06:07 at polling, post-election polling,
06:09 who would have preferred Bernie Sanders
06:11 or didn't vote because they wanted him
06:12 and maybe get a sample size of something there,
06:14 but all in all, you know, he's still a Democrat.
06:16 He still comes out pretty radical left on issues like,
06:19 I think abortion is pretty left, on guns is pretty left.
06:22 - On the environment, he's really left, Joey.
06:24 - That's been his legacy, really,
06:26 before vaccines kind of became what they used
06:28 to identify him or define him.
06:32 And so I don't know that he pulls a lot from Trump's voters.
06:35 I really don't.
06:36 If they look into him at all,
06:38 I don't think a lot of Trump voters
06:39 are gonna vote for anyone or potential Trump voters
06:42 that would wanna restrict your guns.
06:44 - Yeah, I think what he would draw from mostly
06:47 are those Democrats that miss the old Democrat party,
06:50 like somebody who had a little bit of an outsider streak,
06:52 who wasn't in bed with Pharma,
06:54 who was suspicious of globalism,
06:56 and then somebody also who cares about the working class,
07:01 because I think the reason why RFK Jr.
07:05 went down to the border was to see the chaos, of course,
07:09 and the humanitarian crisis down there.
07:12 But he is an old school Democrat who understands
07:15 that what's happening at our border,
07:17 what's pouring in, the millions of people
07:19 are going to affect the poor and the working class most,
07:22 because they are gonna be competing for those jobs.
07:24 - And have been for 30 years already.
07:26 I come from a town that's fully affected by it.
07:28 And legal immigration is a good thing for this country,
07:31 but legal is absolutely a necessity.
07:34 Rachel, you are often right,
07:36 and I hope in this case you are.
07:38 I mean, it's too early, right?
07:40 We'll see, but I think those indicators
07:42 that you point out are important.
07:44 And the more people, Joey, you mentioned,
07:46 get educated on his stances.
07:48 - The independents will be interesting, though, Pete,
07:50 because I've met so many independents
07:53 who generally tended to vote Democrat
07:56 when those were the choices,
07:59 but who really like JFK Jr.
08:02 But were voting for Trump,
08:03 planned on voting for Trump in this election
08:06 until JFK Jr. came in.
08:08 - You know what was trending on X last night
08:10 was the name Ross Perot.
08:12 What did Ross Perot give us?
08:15 Two terms of Bill Clinton.
08:16 - Ross Perot probably would have won the election
08:18 had he not pulled out.
08:19 - That was Sean Duffy's--
08:20 - Ross Perot would have won the election?
08:22 - I think so, he was a hot take.
08:23 - He pulled out, I think, in July, and he was leading.
08:25 And then he came back in in like October,
08:29 and he still pulled the highest third party ever.
08:31 I don't remember if he pulled out of the Republican primary
08:34 and came back as independent,
08:35 or if he pulled out as an independent.
08:37 But he was either beating the Republican
08:39 or leading either in the Republican primary or overall.
08:42 And when he came back in,
08:43 he still got the highest third party ever.
08:45 And it was just indicative of people being fed up
08:47 with the options they had.
08:48 It's not about Ross Perot.
08:50 And the thing about RFK is,
08:51 if I were a big, heavy Republican donor,
08:53 I don't have the money to be,
08:54 and I don't donate to politics most of the time,
08:57 I would pour money as a Republican donor
08:59 into student body organizations supporting RFK Jr.
09:02 I would siphon that liberal young vote away from Biden
09:06 as fast as I could,
09:07 and that would be the best way
09:09 to get a Republican in the White House.
09:10 - That's a very interesting strategy.
09:11 I should mention before we move on,
09:13 Sean's first, my husband Sean's very first vote,
09:16 you know, in a presidential election was for Ross Perot.
09:19 So who's a Ross Perot guy?
09:20 Back in the day.
09:21 - You don't like Ross Perot?
09:22 He's got a fighter jet in his hangar.
09:24 - Ross Perot is fine, but he gave us Bill Clinton.
09:26 That's all that, I'm looking at the map.
09:28 - You're right, you're right.
09:29 - Yeah, no, you're right.
09:30 - All right, Rachel,
09:31 they're coming after another one of your opponents.
09:32 - This is such a big story for me.
09:34 Okay, so they're moving through,
09:35 they've already moved through your refrigerators,
09:37 your washer, your dryer, your dishwasher,
09:40 your air conditioner, your thermostats,
09:42 and now they're going for these gas furnaces.
09:46 And so this of course is at the direction here.
09:48 This is from the Energy Secretary, Jennifer Granholm.
09:51 She says, "At the direction of Congress,
09:53 the Department of Energy is continuing to review
09:56 and finalize energy standards for household appliances,
09:59 such as residential furnaces,
10:01 to lower costs for working families
10:03 by reducing energy use and slashing harmful pollutants
10:06 in homes across the nation."
10:09 By the way, they're also at the Department of Energy
10:12 working on pool pumps, ceiling fans, dehumidifiers.
10:17 There is-- - Battery charger.
10:18 - Battery charger.
10:19 There is zero demand for this in America,
10:22 given all the problems we're facing.
10:24 It is not the job of the government
10:27 to pick your home appliances.
10:28 - So speaking of climate, to your point,
10:30 you named about six of them.
10:32 Turns out there are at least 100 more.
10:35 - Yeah.
10:36 - The stat is the Biden administration has taken
10:38 110 actions on energy efficiency rules in 2022 alone
10:43 as part of their climate agenda.
10:47 It's gonna be your, what was this one?
10:49 This one's the home furnace, your dehumidifier,
10:53 your pool filter.
10:54 - And it's gonna be expensive for people
10:55 because I think it's gonna affect like 60%
10:58 of those home furnaces.
10:59 A lot of them are in trailers, by the way,
11:01 like home trailers, and they're gonna have to retrofit
11:05 to get them in.
11:06 So it's gonna cost people money
11:08 when they can least afford it.
11:09 - To get an idea of just what these percentages look like,
11:11 it is 60% of homes that use furnaces
11:14 would have to retrofit their furnace.
11:16 - Yeah.
11:17 - Almost 20% of Americans use a furnace.
11:20 You're talking about 10 plus percent of Americans
11:22 whose way of heating themselves.
11:25 If we talk about human rights,
11:26 your right to heat and cool your house should be a right.
11:30 You're talking about 10% of Americans
11:31 that would lose that overnight
11:32 if this rule were to go into effect
11:33 and they hadn't had a chance to pay the whatever it cost
11:36 to replace it.
11:37 I think there is some devil in the details here.
11:40 I think these rules have to be proposed and finalized
11:43 in the next year and think about the election coming.
11:46 And they don't go into effect until 2028.
11:48 And what that tells me is he knows his own party
11:50 doesn't believe in it,
11:51 but this is a way to trickle out some information,
11:53 some Green New Deal stuff
11:54 without having big legislation move
11:56 to kind of keep those people involved in the party
11:58 and in his reelection campaign.
12:00 - Yeah, they sort of float it out there
12:02 and kind of get the reaction.
12:03 Or they'll tell you like with gas stoves,
12:05 no, we're not doing it.
12:07 And then of course, then they do it.
12:08 Remember that when they said that when we did a whole thing,
12:11 'cause I was losing my mind over the gas.
12:12 - They put this stuff out there and they say,
12:13 we're crazy for talking about it.
12:15 - Exactly.
12:15 - You should just, yeah, just buy another blanket.
12:18 Just turn it down a little bit, buy another blanket.
12:20 Everything will be fine.
12:20 - Have a lot of kids and just cuddle them together,
12:23 make them warm up.
12:24 - Put the meanest on the outside.
12:26 - Yes.
12:28 All right, turning now to your headlines.
12:29 We're gonna start with this.
12:30 The office of Dianne Feinstein is confirming
12:33 that the long time Senator died from natural causes
12:36 very early yesterday morning in her DC home.
12:39 They say that she passed away around 2 a.m.
12:42 with her daughter, Catherine, by her side.
12:45 California Democrat was first elected to the Senate
12:47 over 30 years ago.
12:49 And she was 90 years old.
12:52 New overnight, one person is dead
12:54 and five are airlifted to the hospital
12:56 after a tanker truck carrying ammonia
12:59 overturned on a highway in Southern Illinois.
13:02 An evacuation order is in place for residents in the area.
13:05 Photos of the emergency staging ground
13:07 show officials awaiting clearance to investigate
13:10 as hazmat crews mop up the chemical spill.
13:14 The UAW expanding its strike to two more assembly plants
13:18 in Chicago and Lansing, Michigan,
13:20 as contract negotiations with Detroit's
13:22 big three automakers drag on.
13:25 General Motors and Ford facing more walkouts,
13:28 but there's no new action against Delantis
13:31 thanks to momentum in contract talks.
13:34 Ford CEO Jim Farley says the UAW is holding the deal hostage
13:39 over the construction of electric vehicle battery plants.
13:43 - Sean has been on the TV more than Jake
13:47 at State Farm at this point,
13:49 but I've never heard him say once
13:51 why he believes the UAW can be
13:53 the competitive advantage to Ford.
13:55 - Union President Sean Fain snapping back saying,
13:59 "Like a good neighbor, we're available 24/7,"
14:03 referencing State Farm's corporate catchphrase.
14:06 - Wait, is UAW saying stop building these EV plants?
14:09 I'm not sure.
14:09 I gotta dig into that.
14:11 Interesting.
14:11 - Yeah, well, Donald Trump was meeting with them
14:13 and said this whole thing is pointless
14:15 because if we move to EVs,
14:17 then y'all are gonna have jobs anyway.
14:19 And I think the workers understand that,
14:21 which is why the workers are probably more with Trump
14:23 on this one.
14:24 NFL Sunday is just one day away.
14:26 Week four on Fox includes the New England Patriots
14:29 at the Dallas Cowboys in America's game of the week.
14:33 Meanwhile, welcome to New York.
14:35 Taylor Swift shall be in the stands at MetLife Stadium,
14:39 cheering on all-pro Travis Kelsey
14:42 as the Chiefs take on the Jets.
14:44 And Damar Hamlin will play in the Bills matchup
14:49 against the Dolphins.
14:50 It'll be his first game
14:51 since he suffered cardiac arrest during a game
14:54 against the Bengals back in January.
14:57 And those are your headlines.
14:59 - You know, I think most of our viewers
15:00 remember Damar Hamlin,
15:01 but you need to go back any time you bring him up and say,
15:04 there really was a moment where the country showed
15:06 it still believes in prayer.
15:07 Because a lot of folks that aren't on a conservative
15:09 or Republican TV channel that are on sports channels,
15:13 stopped, one host actually stopped and prayed on air.
15:16 And it really was a moment for people to, you know,
15:19 it takes a football player that I'd never heard of,
15:21 I'm sure very good, to have such a moment
15:23 for everyone to stop and say, hey, God can help you.
15:26 - Great to see him back.
15:26 - It's such a bonding moment for us, Joey.
15:28 I had never heard of him before either.
15:30 (laughing)
15:31 - I watch real football, that's on Saturdays.
15:33 - Okay.
15:34 - Well, speaking of what he calls real football,
15:37 Fox station host Abby Hornacek,
15:39 who is in Boulder ahead of the USC Trojans,
15:41 Colorado Buffaloes football game today on Fox,
15:44 and we can hear it.
15:46 Abby.
15:47 (cheering)
15:49 - They have been cheering for a solid three minutes.
15:52 They are doing so great.
15:53 Look, as a USC Trojan, I am gonna do my best
15:56 to stay as neutral as possible today,
15:58 but no guarantees because Colorado is gonna try
16:01 to upset my undefeated Trojans.
16:04 Do you guys think you're gonna beat the Trojans?
16:05 (cheering)
16:07 I don't know if they're right.
16:08 Look, I mean, if you're not a USC or Colorado fan,
16:11 that is okay because there are so many interesting
16:13 storylines to keep an eye on today.
16:15 Of course, there is Deion Sanders.
16:17 You guys like Deion?
16:18 (cheering)
16:20 I knew it.
16:21 It's because Deion has taken a team that was one and 11
16:24 and has completely turned it around.
16:25 They're three and one.
16:26 Coming off a tough loss at Oregon against Oregon,
16:29 but that's okay.
16:30 We won't talk about that today because it is a new day.
16:32 Look, we have so much excitement coming up here
16:35 ahead of the game at Folsom Field.
16:36 We're gonna talk to this gentleman
16:37 because this is an outfit that I think
16:39 we need to know more about.
16:40 We're gonna talk to you guys
16:42 'cause we got freshmen, right?
16:43 - Yeah.
16:44 - Bunch of freshmen.
16:45 They are here bright and early.
16:46 It's four in the morning,
16:47 so we will be getting you all of that excitement
16:49 all morning long here on Fox and Friends, guys.
16:51 (cheering)
16:52 - All right, thank you, Abby.
16:55 It is quite the outfit that he has on.
16:57 All right.
16:59 - He's been wearing it all night.
17:00 - Yeah, he is.
17:01 Coming up, a Fox weather alert, heavy rain slam.
17:03 - Boy private school near Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania,
17:06 with traditions dating back decades.
17:09 But reports claim that school is gonna go co-ed,
17:13 fueling controversy among parents and alumni.
17:16 Here to discuss is Kiske School alum
17:19 and Marine Corps veteran, Matt Marcinelli.
17:21 Matt, thanks for being here.
17:23 So first of all, what can you say about what the school,
17:25 let's start, 'cause there's a couple of issues here,
17:27 but let's start with the all boys to co-ed.
17:30 What is the school saying about this and why?
17:33 - Yes, sir.
17:36 We have been hearing that there's a rumor
17:39 that going to a co-ed format is one of five or six options.
17:44 Then informally, it's been understood
17:46 that it's kind of a foregone conclusion, but we don't know.
17:49 So we wanted to get ahead of this,
17:52 build a coalition of folks that really didn't see this
17:55 as a viable option in order to stick
17:58 to the original documents that the school
18:01 originally was based on at its founding 135 years ago.
18:04 - You know, there aren't many all boy institutions
18:07 in the country anymore.
18:08 Why do you want it to stay that way?
18:10 - Well, that's exactly why.
18:13 There aren't very many options
18:14 and there's reams and reams of data, Pete,
18:16 that show that single sex high school education
18:19 for boys is superior.
18:21 You go to the Columbia Graduate School of Education,
18:24 they'll even admit to that.
18:26 And we think that Kiske Boys has a right
18:29 to be able to remain as it is and continue to move forward
18:33 for the next 135 years while adhering
18:36 to the original documents that the founders intended.
18:40 - So you mentioned the original documents,
18:42 you've got them of our country, but also of that school.
18:44 From what I understand,
18:45 it was originally a faith-based school.
18:47 You'd have to tell me if it still is,
18:49 but the school's also published a new strategic plan
18:53 saying in the fall they want to be an anti-racist school,
18:57 which is one of those buzzwords of institutions
19:00 that have been taken over by the left too.
19:02 So is this just one step in a school
19:04 that is slowly being transformed?
19:06 - Well, the school that I went to
19:09 and I graduated from in 1984 really pushed three pillars
19:14 of body, mind, and moral warriorship.
19:18 That's what we wanted to come out of Kiske.
19:20 And a lot of us, we went on to the military,
19:23 army, all branches.
19:24 Many of us graduated and went on to industry.
19:28 And I think it's important to note, Pete,
19:29 that Kiske's a very unique prep school.
19:31 It's not your classic DC Beltway to New England,
19:35 Ivy League type prep school.
19:37 Now, people certainly go to those schools,
19:39 but Kiske, it really embodies the blue collar personality
19:44 that Western Pennsylvania is known for.
19:46 So people come from all walks of life
19:49 and they get together at this very rural little place
19:52 and they bond.
19:53 And I think it's a unique experience
19:57 and it's a traditional classic education
20:00 and it needs to be maintained.
20:02 And I think that it deserves the right
20:04 to be at least fought for.
20:05 I mean, I've got 19 nephews, my two sons,
20:09 all of my teammates and classmates
20:11 I went to Kiske with, they feel the same way.
20:15 And I don't think the school has really given
20:17 the opportunity to take that barometric reading
20:20 to find out how the alumni feel
20:22 and what they're willing to do in order to maintain this.
20:25 - I hope you can mobilize the alumni.
20:27 That's what it's gonna take.
20:28 Because if not, then Kiske is gonna become
20:32 just another woke co-ed school.
20:34 And we have lots of those in these country.
20:36 That's the standard.
20:39 - This school is 135 years old.
20:42 It's withstood wars, dust, you know,
20:47 they've had depression, recession,
20:51 all kinds of civil unrest and we're still here
20:53 and we're not gonna buckle under this.
20:54 Let me tell you, look, we gotta fight for the school, Pete.
20:58 And we've got a group of people
20:59 that are not willing to let this school go.
21:01 The country's counting on it.
21:02 We fought over it. - Absolutely.
21:04 - Well, I come in here home, this is, yeah, go ahead.
21:07 - Everybody has to protect the institutions
21:09 that they're invested in.
21:10 Otherwise we lose them all.
21:11 And that's exactly what you're doing, Matt.
21:13 I appreciate your time.
21:14 We're out of time, but-
21:15 - I'd like to ask folks to help us
21:16 at Friends of Kiske Prep and go to our GoFundMe
21:19 or our Give, Send, Go account and please help us.
21:23 This is a clarion call.
21:25 We need everybody to come here.
21:25 - It's gonna take the alumni, no doubt.
21:27 - By the way, Matt, we reached out
21:28 to the Kiske School for comment.
21:30 Of course, we did not hear back.
21:32 It's gonna take Matt and the alumni to fight it.
21:34 Good luck.
21:35 - Founded by torrential rain yesterday, flash floods
21:39 submerging the subway stations
21:40 with water cascading down steps, gushing from the ceiling.
21:44 Half of all lines were shut down at the height of the storm.
21:48 The high waters helping a sea lion
21:50 escape from Central Park Zoo.
21:53 The sea lion captured on video,
21:54 checking out its surroundings
21:55 before returning back to its pool.
21:58 Chief meteorologist Rick Reichmuth
22:00 is here with the latest.
22:02 Rick, you don't normally report this kind of stuff
22:04 from right here.
22:05 I mean, this is, the subway pictures are amazing.
22:07 - It was incredible.
22:08 And really, you're in Jersey
22:10 and Jersey didn't get that much rain.
22:11 And the dividing line was really Manhattan,
22:13 Jersey, not that much.
22:14 Then go Eastern side of Manhattan or Northern Manhattan
22:17 and in towards Brooklyn and incredible amounts of rain
22:19 caused bad flooding.
22:21 JFK Airport, by the way, in the two day total,
22:24 the whole storm total, 8.65 inches.
22:26 And yesterday alone was the wettest day
22:28 that JFK has ever had, which is pretty amazing.
22:31 And Central Park, the eighth wettest day
22:34 in all of the history of Central Park.
22:35 And that was yesterday.
22:36 All of this kind of was part of what was Ophelia
22:39 from last weekend that brought all that gloom.
22:41 The remnants of that kind of reformed a little bit
22:43 and brought a lot more moisture
22:45 and all of this flooding for a second major flood
22:48 like this we've had in the last two years
22:49 across parts of New York.
22:50 This is what's left of the storm.
22:52 Some rain, nothing nearly as heavy.
22:54 In fact, most of it is quite light
22:56 and it will diminish throughout the day today.
22:57 And we have a really nice stretch of weather
22:59 for the next five days or so across the Northeast,
23:01 which is great news.
23:03 One last thing, the tail end of this front
23:05 has been stalled here across parts of Florida.
23:07 Rain this weekend, again, hate to say it,
23:09 but by Monday, this front finally moves through the state.
23:12 We're gonna dry things out even down towards Florida,
23:14 which is gonna be good news.
23:15 All right, guys, I'll hand it back to you.
23:17 - Thank you, Rick. - Thank you, Rick.
23:18 - Appreciate it.
23:18 - I flew in yesterday.
23:19 I really thought I needed to put my boat legs on.
23:22 - I know, I was worried. - I made it floaters.
23:23 - Horrible, too.
23:24 - All right, the big noon kickoff is live in Boulder
23:26 at 10 a.m. Eastern today as the USC Trojans
23:30 take on the underdog for this week, at least,
23:32 Colorado Buffaloes on Fox.
23:34 - Abby is live at Folsom Field with the latest.
23:37 Abby, I'm sure there's some energy going on there.
23:39 (crowd cheering)
23:41 - There is a lot of energy.
23:42 I think they might be cheering for the Trojans.
23:45 (crowd cheering)
23:46 No, look, guys, we got here so early,
23:49 but I think they've been here even earlier.
23:51 - How, when did you get here?
23:52 - We got here at 1.30 in the morning.
23:53 - 1.30 in the morning, and what time did you go to bed, then?
23:56 - We didn't go to bed.
23:58 - What is keeping you awake right now?
24:01 - The adrenaline. - Excitement.
24:02 - Excitement. - I guess the cold.
24:04 - The cold. - Red Bull.
24:05 - It is cold, but this guy came prepared with the cold.
24:08 All right, I gotta know about this outfit.
24:10 Do you wear this to every game?
24:11 - I do not.
24:12 It was my grandma's idea.
24:13 Shout out to my grandma.
24:14 Love you, Grandma.
24:15 - Was it your grandma's as well?
24:17 - Yes, it was.
24:18 She can't really make it to the games anymore,
24:19 so this was her suggestion.
24:21 I was like, "Absolutely."
24:22 So, love you, Grandma.
24:24 - We love you, Grandma.
24:25 I hope she's watching right now.
24:27 That's great. - Probably not.
24:27 - Well, this is a great outfit, and then look at this hair.
24:29 I mean, is this something that you rock all season long?
24:33 Is it just for the games?
24:34 - I've been wearing it since Nebraska.
24:36 Like, this has been here for the entire season.
24:39 - When football season's over, what happens?
24:41 - Gonna keep it going.
24:42 - Yeah, that's right. - Yeah.
24:44 - Basketball season. - Go Buffs, you know?
24:45 Basketball season. - Go Buffs.
24:47 I mean, it looks great.
24:48 I should have done my hair that way,
24:49 except for I'm already blonde, I guess.
24:51 - Okay, you're a senior. - Yes, I am.
24:53 Hello. - Okay, so you've been
24:54 to these games before.
24:55 What makes this one different?
24:56 - We need revenge.
24:57 Like, last time was sad, so this time,
24:59 we're gonna get it this time.
25:01 - Are you from Colorado?
25:02 - I am from Colorado.
25:03 - How would you explain just the vibe of Folsom Field
25:07 to people who haven't been?
25:08 - It's new for us.
25:10 Like, we're coming back. - Go Buffs!
25:12 - This is super cool. - Go Buffs!
25:13 - We're having fun now.
25:15 We didn't used to be good for a really long time.
25:17 Coach Primes turned it around, and we're great now.
25:19 - That's right!
25:20 All right, well, we'll see what happens
25:21 a little bit later today.
25:22 We're gonna be with these folks all morning long, guys,
25:25 and then we're gonna follow them in
25:26 as they go to big noon kickoff, so stick around.
25:28 - Absolutely, and by the way,
25:30 (crowd cheering)
25:31 well, a big part of the reason they're there
25:33 is because of their head coach,
25:34 as you know, Deion Sanders, Abby.
25:36 Thank you, Abby, and you can go to Fox Nation right now.
25:38 We have "Who is Deion Sanders?"
25:41 Rachel needs to watch that.
25:42 - Yeah, is that part of the
25:43 Haggiseth-Cain Football School?
25:45 - Well, it might be. - It's that homework?
25:47 - This is your preliminary homework.
25:48 - Okay.
25:49 - Arguably the greatest defensive back of all time.
25:52 - All right.
25:53 - And you'll learn a little bit there.
25:54 - I will.
25:55 - By far the most prolific, we'll say that.
25:56 All right, coming up 25 years later,
25:58 an arrest made in the drive-by shooting of Tupac,
26:01 where the case stands now.
26:03 But first, DeSantis on defense
26:05 as he struggles to break out of the GOP PAC.
26:09 - Why run against Trump?
26:11 - I mean, let's face it, Ron.
26:13 If this campaign was going well,
26:15 you wouldn't be on this show.
26:16 - I don't think he can win the election.
26:17 I could win the election.
26:19 - Oh boy.
26:21 - Does he have a path forward?
26:23 We asked that question.
26:25 - Oh, good question.
26:25 Plus the third party threat.
26:27 How bad would an RFK independent run be for Biden?
26:32 Our voter panel.
26:33 - Yeah.
26:33 - This case to Bill Maher
26:34 for why he's a better choice than former President Trump.
26:38 Here with their take is a New Jersey GOP voter,
26:41 David Seifer, New York City mother and Democrat voter,
26:45 Daniela Sousa-Igorarov,
26:47 and Republican voter and retired police
26:48 and firefighter Patrick McManus.
26:51 It's a pleasure to have you guys on.
26:52 - Good to have you.
26:53 - Thank you for being here.
26:54 I just want to get this off the top
26:55 because we're going to talk about two candidates now,
26:57 but there are two people that are running for president.
26:59 If you were voting today, who would vote for President Trump?
27:02 If you were voting today, who would vote for President Biden?
27:07 So we got at least one undecided
27:09 and a couple that may be persuaded, we don't know.
27:11 I want to ask you about Ron DeSantis.
27:13 I would imagine you guys watched the debate and saw that.
27:16 Ron DeSantis really points out two things.
27:18 And Pat, I'll go to you first
27:18 since you said you're voting for Trump.
27:20 He says he has a better record on COVID
27:22 and he says that he's the only one
27:24 that can actually get elected.
27:25 What do you think about that?
27:26 - I like to say it this early,
27:30 but he hasn't had the bump that he needed.
27:33 I think he may have made a mistake early
27:35 when he refused to go after Trump.
27:38 You know, early on, he said he was not going to engage
27:41 in that type of smear campaign.
27:44 Unfortunately, that's what gets people elected these days.
27:48 And I think he may have made a mistake.
27:49 And I think it's a little too late for him to have the bump
27:53 that it would take to overcome the massive lead
27:56 that Donald Trump has right now.
27:57 - Daniela, you watched the debate.
27:59 Ron DeSantis did pretty well.
28:00 A lot of people think he won.
28:01 There were others there.
28:02 What did you take from the debate
28:03 or Ron DeSantis specifically?
28:04 - I think all the candidates,
28:07 I think with the exception of Ron DeSantis,
28:09 were acting very nervous and talking over each other.
28:13 At some point, I had to turn off the TV
28:15 because I couldn't watch them acting like children,
28:18 you know, in an out of control classroom
28:21 where the teacher couldn't control.
28:23 I like that he really handled COVID well.
28:26 He didn't close schools here in New York City.
28:28 We closed schools for so long.
28:29 The learning loss that our children are facing
28:32 is so massive.
28:33 And I agree with him.
28:34 We need accountability for what happened
28:35 because the impact, particularly in our children's learning,
28:38 has been so huge, and we're not addressing that even today.
28:43 - David, you didn't raise your hand for Biden or Trump,
28:45 so that means you're still trying to figure this out,
28:46 or maybe you have a candidate.
28:47 But when Ron DeSantis says he believes
28:49 he's the only Republican that can win the election,
28:51 do you agree with that?
28:52 - Well, the problem is is that he never made the case.
28:56 He never made the case as to why he could beat Trump.
29:01 Everybody knows, politically, who knows Ron DeSantis
29:05 knows that he's a policy wonk.
29:06 He never leaned into his strengths,
29:08 so now he's paying the political price
29:11 for not playing into his strengths
29:12 and really getting the message out there
29:14 as to why he could beat Trump.
29:15 - Quickly, what is his strength?
29:17 - He knows policy.
29:20 He has a broad coalition who he gets support,
29:23 and these are the things
29:24 that he should have played into early on.
29:26 - I wanna move from DeSantis over to another candidate
29:29 who may become an independent next week,
29:31 but is the only one really challenging President Biden.
29:34 So RFK Jr. teased an announcement
29:38 as speculation swirls about an independent run.
29:41 And it could spell disaster for Biden and Trump.
29:43 This is from Mediite, and it's exclusive.
29:46 It says, "Robert F. Kennedy Jr.
29:47 planning to announce independent run."
29:49 So that's what they're reporting.
29:50 We don't know.
29:51 In his video, he just said, "It's a big announcement,
29:53 and if you're gonna come and support me,
29:54 this is the place to do it."
29:56 Looking at what he's really kind of carved out for himself,
30:00 there are two topics, I think,
30:01 that some liberals and some conservatives like.
30:04 The one is funding the war in Ukraine,
30:06 and the other one is vaccine
30:08 and the way COVID was handled.
30:10 Daniella, I wanna go to you first.
30:11 What do you think about his positions on those two issues?
30:14 - I want us to continue supporting Ukraine.
30:19 My husband's family became a refugee in Ukraine last year.
30:23 They came here, they lost everything at the age of 85,
30:26 and I just don't wanna leave in a world
30:28 that is led by China and Russia.
30:29 I want America to continue leading the world.
30:32 - Looking at RFK Jr. and Ron DeSantis,
30:34 which one would have a better chance
30:35 of winning your vote from Biden?
30:36 - I don't know.
30:39 I wanna learn more about RFK's position on school choice.
30:41 I think he's not pro school choice,
30:43 and I think this is so important for parents today.
30:46 We want our kids to have a good school.
30:47 We wanna control on what our kids are learning,
30:50 and if he's not pro school choice,
30:52 I would have to take another look at both candidates.
30:55 - Patrick, you said that you are pretty much
30:56 for President Trump at this point.
30:58 Does RFK Jr. do anything for you?
31:00 - He does, he's very interesting,
31:03 but I realized a long time ago
31:05 that the Democratic Party is never going to allow him,
31:08 so his only avenue would be to go independent,
31:11 and I feel in doing so, he's only gonna strengthen
31:16 whomever the Republican candidate ends up being.
31:19 I believe he'll take more votes from Joe Biden
31:22 than from a Republican.
31:23 - David, final word to you.
31:24 You're the guy to start, sure, yet,
31:26 if it is President Trump, President Biden,
31:28 is RFK Jr. a viable option for you?
31:30 - No, he's not a viable option for me,
31:32 but I do find it interesting
31:33 that his independent announcement is very smart
31:37 for one reason on the short term is that
31:39 his campaign has picked up a lot of support on the right.
31:42 So for all the people on the right
31:44 who don't feel comfortable voting for a Democrat,
31:47 he's their guy.
31:48 - So unlike Patrick, you think it could siphon from Trump
31:50 just as much as Biden.
31:52 I kind of agree with you there,
31:53 but as we talked about earlier this morning,
31:55 I don't know, I think Biden's in trouble
31:56 with an RFK Jr. run.
31:57 Listen, thank all three of you for being here.
31:59 Insightful and honest responses, that's what we wanted.
32:02 Thank y'all.
32:03 - Thank you.
32:04 - All right, Pete, I think tossing it out to you now.
32:06 - Got it, thank you, Joey.
32:07 All right, we begin your headlines with this.

32:14 in the 1996 killing of Tupac Shakur.
