00:00 Good morning from the Pag-asa Weather Forecasting Center.
00:04 This is our update on the weather we are monitoring for Baguiong Jenny
00:08 inside our Philippine Area of Responsibility.
00:11 Earlier this morning at 4am,
00:14 the center of Baguiong Jenny was last seen
00:17 835 kilometers away from the center of Luzon.
00:21 It is still a strong storm and is still a tropical storm category
00:25 with strong winds that are close to the center reaching 85 km/h
00:30 and a strong storm that reaches 105 km/h.
00:34 It is constantly moving, moving, moving at a speed of 20 km/h.
00:41 And you can see here in our latest satellite images
00:44 that the trough or "buntot" of the so-called storm
00:47 is currently being swept by the scattered rain,
00:49 hail and lightning in the eastern part of our country.
00:53 Meanwhile, in the areas of Southern Luzon,
00:56 which is a 10-part Visayas and Western section of Mindanao,
01:00 this Southwest Monsoon is the one that is constantly
01:02 sweeping the clouds and the chance of rain.
01:07 What will be the movement and strength of Baguio Jenny in the next few days?
01:12 Starting today until tomorrow,
01:15 the generally Northwestward movement of Baguio Jenny will continue
01:20 and by Tuesday, it will be generally West Northwestward.
01:25 We can see here in our trough that by Wednesday,
01:29 the trough of the so-called storm will be generally Westward or "pakanluran".
01:35 From Wednesday evening, so from Wednesday night until Thursday morning,
01:40 it will pass over the Basho Channel.
01:43 This is the area between Southern Taiwan and Batanes Island.
01:49 We can also see here in our trough that our confidence cone
01:56 has covered some areas of the extreme Northern Luzon.
01:59 So we are still not removing the chance of landfall,
02:02 this is the direct hit on the ground or close approach.
02:05 This is the part of the approach to our land
02:09 in some areas of the extreme Northern Luzon in the coming days.
02:15 The strength or intensifying of Jenny will continue in the coming days
02:20 and within the day, it is possible that it will grow stronger
02:23 or it will use the severe tropical storm category.
02:27 And in the continuation of this strength, we will see here in the trough of Baguio,
02:32 it is possible that it will become a typhoon tomorrow night
02:35 or within the next days or tomorrow evening or on Tuesday.
02:41 And what will be the effect of this Jenny typhoon in our country?
02:46 In terms of heavy rainfall or the strong rains brought by the typhoon,
02:51 it is possible that we will experience strong rains in some areas of the Northern Luzon,
02:56 particularly in Batanes, Baboyan Islands,
02:59 Northern portion of mainland Cagayan, Apayaw, and Ilocos Norte
03:04 starting Wednesday or Thursday next week.
03:07 And in addition to the direct rains brought by the rain bands of this Jenny typhoon,
03:13 this Southwest Monsoon, the strong winds that the typhoon is causing,
03:17 will also cause heavy rainfall or strong rains in some parts of our country in the coming days.
03:24 Starting tomorrow, we will experience moderate to heavy with the times intense rains in the Palawan
03:30 and when Tuesday arrives, the axis of our Southwest Monsoon will be higher.
03:35 So, this area of the Northern Palawan, including Calamian and Cuyo Islands,
03:41 Batanes and Occidental Mindoro, we will experience heavy rains.
03:46 So, we are just experiencing heavy rains in some parts of our country,
03:51 the Eastern section of Luzon, Southern Luzon, Visayas, and Western section of Mindanao.
03:56 So, let's continue to be alert to sudden floods or landslides
04:01 in the coming days brought by this Jenny typhoon and this Southwest Monsoon that it is causing.
04:09 In the strong winds or the severe winds brought by the typhoon,
04:13 so far, there is no tropical cyclone wind signal in any part of our country.
04:18 But we can issue a wind signal in the areas of the extreme Northern Luzon
04:24 later tonight or tomorrow in anticipation of the strong winds brought by the upcoming typhoon.
04:30 We can issue a wind signal earlier if there are significant changes in our forecast scenario.
04:39 And in terms of the strong winds brought by the typhoon,
04:43 we will experience gusty conditions especially in the areas of our Baybayin and Bulabundukin.
04:50 So, starting today until tomorrow, in the areas of Palawan, Romblon, and Western Visayas,
04:55 we will experience strong winds and more areas will experience gusty conditions.
05:02 So, starting Tuesday, in the areas of Western Visayas,
05:06 the whole of Mimaropa, the whole of Cabiculan, and a large part of Calabarzon.
05:12 And for the condition of our ocean,
05:15 for now, there are no high gale warnings in any Baybayin of our capuluan.
05:19 But we expect that starting tomorrow, this typhoon will bring strong winds to the Along Karagatan,
05:26 to the Baybayin of the extreme Northern Luzon, and the northern portion of Milan, Cagayan.
05:32 So, because of this, we can also issue gale warnings in the next few days in anticipation of the strong winds brought by the typhoon.
05:40 So, to our fellow fishermen and those who are small in the ocean,
05:44 if possible, don't go too far because we expect the waves to rise in the next few days brought by the upcoming Jenny typhoon.
05:55 And for the location of our time today in Luzon,
06:00 we can see here the eastern section of Luzon in the areas of Isabela, Aurora,
06:08 and also in the area of Quezon, Cabiculan, and Memaropa.
06:14 We can experience cloudy skies, scattered rains, and rolling and splashing waves brought by the typhoon.
06:20 So, this area of the southern Luzon, we can experience the rains brought by the typhoon.
06:25 Meanwhile, this eastern section of Luzon is the end of the trough or the tip of the Jenny typhoon.
06:31 The southern part of Luzon, together with the Metro Manila, is a more clear time than we expect.
06:37 We mostly expect to see the chance of heavy rains, rolling and splashing waves brought by the localized thunderstorms.
06:45 This usually happens from the afternoon to the evening.
06:48 The temperature range for today is 25 to 33 degrees Celsius.
06:54 18 to 25 degrees in Baguio City, and 25 to 34 degrees Celsius in Tagaygarao.
07:01 The temperature forecast for Metro Manila today is 25 to 32 degrees Celsius.
07:07 22 to 30 degrees in Tagaytay, and 25 to 31 degrees Celsius in Legazpi City.
07:14 The temperature forecast for Puerto Princes and Calayaan Islands is 25 to 32 degrees Celsius.
07:21 In the areas of Visayas and Mindanao,
07:25 Visayas will experience a high chance of rain, as well as the western section of Mindanao,
07:31 in the areas of Zamboanga Peninsula and BARM.
07:35 In the mentioned areas, especially in the next few days,
07:38 we will continue to be alert to the threat of flash floods and landslides.
07:43 In the southern part of Mindanao, the eastern section of the Mindanao area is more clear in terms of the weather.
07:51 We are still prepared for isolated rain showers or localized thunderstorms.
07:57 The temperature range for today is 25 to 32 degrees Celsius.
08:03 25 to 32 degrees Celsius in Cebu and Tacloban.
08:09 The temperature forecast for Cagayan de Oro is 25 to 33 degrees Celsius.
08:15 26 to 33 degrees Celsius in Davao, and 25 to 33 degrees Celsius in Zamboanga.
08:22 And for our 3-day extended weather outlook in the surrounding cities of our country,
08:28 tomorrow, the northern and central regions will continue to be exposed to strong winds.
08:34 And again, due to the upcoming Jeni Flood,
08:38 in the next few days, we will see that a large part of the Luzon and the entire Visayas
08:44 will experience a heavy downpour with heavy rain, landslides, and landslides.
08:49 This is a combined effect of the Jeni Trough and the Southwest Monsoon, which is causing this.
08:59 Meanwhile, a large part of Mindanao, especially in the Metro Davao area or the eastern section of Mindanao,
09:05 will continue to be clear in terms of weather.
09:07 Generally, fair weather conditions for the next 3 days, aside from the chance of thunderstorms.
09:13 Usually, it will be from yesterday until tonight.
09:16 Temperature forecast for Metro Manila for the next 3 days will be 24 to 32 degrees Celsius.
09:24 17 to 25 degrees Celsius in Baguio City, and 24 to 31 degrees Celsius in Legazpi City.
09:31 Temperature forecast for Metro Cebu for the next 3 days will be 25 to 33 degrees Celsius,
09:37 and 25 to 34 degrees Celsius in the Metro Davao area.
09:43 Since it is the first day of October, this is our monthly climatology for the storms for this month.
09:51 For the month of October, 2 to 3 storms are possible to occur or enter our Philippine Area of Responsibility.
09:58 We can see in this diagram, these are the tracks that can be used by possible storms that will occur for this month.
10:06 The first and the second track, we can see here,
10:11 this is what we call the recurving track, or the storms that are entering or forming in our Philippine Area of Responsibility.
10:20 It will be part of our country, and it will recurve towards the northeastern portion of our PAR,
10:27 and it will continue to go out to the area of Japan or Korea.
10:32 The third, fourth, and fifth track are the landfalling tracks, or the storms that are possible to occur in our area.
