00:14 Welcome back everyone is Charlie this will be my full video for the boys Gen V episodes
00:18 one through three they drop the first three episodes will just cover everything in this
00:22 one video.
00:23 There's a whole bunch of Easter eggs and references to the main show the boys like a bunch of
00:26 crossover characters and obviously a bunch of parodies of Marvel and DC comic book characters.
00:31 If you're brand-new to the channel be sure to subscribe to get all the episodes is a
00:34 bunch of big stuff coming up this eight episodes total and they will lead up and set up stuff
00:38 that will happen on the boys season four they were inserted do that in the first three episodes
00:42 but careful for spoilers.
00:44 If you haven't seen the episodes yet will just start at the beginning work our way through
00:46 shot by shot talk about Easter eggs WTF moments and all the jokes and parodies on Marvel and
00:51 DC characters for the most part this show is meant to be kind of like an X-Men show
00:56 because good Dolkin is based on the G-Men and they're meant to be the boys universe
01:00 version of the X-Men characters like a bunch of kids at Xavier school with special powers
01:05 but in the world of the boys universe good Dolkin is meant to be a school that Vought
01:08 created to basically just mine through all the compound V babies to find potential people
01:13 they could make more money off of they don't really get into this during the episodes,
01:16 but at the school there like two different tracks.
01:18 There's like the theater school track and then like the crime fighting school track
01:22 in the crime fighting school is kind of like the A tier superheroes that they think they
01:25 can make a lot of money off of and everybody else is relegated to the theater school who
01:29 they just trained to find contracts and show business like TV shows movies stuff like that.
01:34 But here's the way the Vought actually makes money off of these compound V superheroes
01:37 whether goes to so much trouble to set them up as these big stars.
01:41 Normally when parents have their children dose with compound Vought basically sells
01:45 them on the idea that oh they'll develop these amazing superpowers you make all kinds of
01:49 money you become rich and famous, but in exchange for them offering their children as test subjects
01:54 for Vought which Vought basically uses to refine compound V and make it even better.
01:58 They also sign a contract with Vought that says that they'll give a portion of the children's
02:02 earnings to Vought.
02:03 So essentially they're acting kind of like a superhero management agency on the side
02:07 of them developing all this compound V. Now during the boys season three Stan Edgar said
02:11 that they were trying to move away from that business line into the more profitable pharmaceutical
02:15 company where they would sell the temporary compound V to the military in the government
02:19 and they make way more money and they would have all this collateral damage and all the
02:23 trouble that comes with trying to deal with tons of really weird superheroes.
02:27 The whole idea is that Stan Edgar says the superheroes are on the way out because he
02:30 feels like the more trouble than their worth, but the actual title of episode one is God
02:34 you which reference to Gadolkin University the school that Vought created to just sit
02:38 through everybody who they feel like they can earn money off of.
02:42 So the Red River Institute is like the other side of that winds up happening is a lot of
02:45 the kids that take compound V as babies develop powers that are totally out of control or
02:50 they drive them crazy or their lame superpowers.
02:53 The parents don't want them or they accidentally kill their parents Vought then basically sends
02:57 them to the Red River Institute which is like a holding facility before they send them to
03:00 this other facility.
03:02 That's where we get to the whole concept of the woods that they tease out these first
03:05 three episodes like the special facility that they use to test superpowers underneath the
03:09 school is a little bit like an evil X-Men situation like an evil Xavier school and Clancy
03:14 Brown's character Brinkerhoff is the person who helped start the school with Vought way
03:18 back in the 1960s.
03:20 I guess it would make him kind of like the evil version of Professor X.
03:22 I don't know if he actually has powers though before the season came out.
03:25 They said that he did, but it sounds like he didn't the actual opening scene episode
03:29 one is a parody of the ESPN sports center with Vought sports network doing their version
03:33 of an NFL draft day for all the superheroes that are trying to get drafted by Vought to
03:36 the seven the other Vought sponsored superhero teams like payback there are ton of sponsored
03:41 teams like the teenage kids that like the boys universe version the teen titans.
03:45 They mention that pretty much all the members of the seven are alumni of good Dolkin we
03:49 don't see a ton of Homelander in episode one.
03:51 So I'm not sure they actually sent him to the school because they created him as a test
03:54 to baby it was a completely separate situation from normal compound V babies they flashback
03:59 eight years or so you have jazz's powers manifested when she got her period for the first time
04:03 in the whole idea is they developed later in life normally when compound V babies develop
04:07 their superpowers it happens really early the couple weird references in the first couple
04:11 of episodes to like to make a Jake Paul of Scott Disick reference this even like a PewDiePie
04:15 YouTube reference later in the episodes to like what while they're playing the girls
04:20 mention a superhero called Lord Kelvin he's not from the boys comics I'm assuming is just
04:24 a parody of human torch or fantastic four firestorm from DC something like that a lot
04:29 of crossover characters from the main show on this Gen V show, but a lot of the characters
04:33 also like brand-new superheroes that were in the original boys comic she accidentally
04:37 kills her parents losing control of her powers which is how she winds up in the Red River
04:41 Institute kind of like Victoria Newman who was also part of that facility.
04:45 They jump back to present day and it seems like the worst possible place to actually
04:49 dump your kid is filled with Vought paraphernalia for the seven posters pictures all kinds of
04:54 propaganda Homelander Gadolkin posters they all aspire to go to Gadolkin because basically
04:59 they explain the alternative for these kids is that they get routed to this other test
05:03 facility where Vought turns them basically into glorified pincushions generally the series
05:07 is meant to take place after the events of the boys season three there a lot of references
05:11 to stuff that recently happened the boys season three to like one of the kids says starlight
05:14 had just left the seven she does that at the very last episode of season three there a
05:18 lot of references to Homelander's trial after the events of season three where he killed
05:22 that dude for coming up on Ryan zoom and enhance on the textbooks that they have the kids reading
05:26 there to their all about how to become superheroes like none of this information actually seems
05:31 like useful information you would expect to be taught in schools like it's all about developing
05:35 your branding as a superhero which Homelander jokes about a lot but really only cares about
05:40 the merchandising potential around superheroes like they don't actually care that superheroes
05:44 do any good or save anybody their couple references to Homelander and crimson countess in the
05:48 book a lot of crimson countess references at the school later to notice that they're
05:52 all written by Clancy Brown's Richard Brinkerhoff character their evil professor X even though
05:56 they can wanna make him seem like a benevolent figure later in episodes like the kids kind
06:00 of like him.
06:01 He does seem like he was behind a lot of this stuff.
06:03 So he is pretty shady the whole idea with Marie's powers is she's basically like a blood
06:07 bender to make an avatar the last airbender reference that a lot of the characters across
06:11 media anime that have powers kind of like this to the way they show her using her powers
06:16 she's not that powerful it like she hasn't learned how to use her powers that well yet
06:20 but I think the idea is that potentially she could figure out how her powers work exactly
06:23 she could wind up controlling way more stuff way more people just in general.
06:28 But for those you asking about power scaling like who's more powerful than who the whole
06:31 idea is that Homelander is still meant to be the most powerful person on the planet
06:35 by far.
06:36 So for instance, Victoria Newman people wondering could she pop Homelander said could Marie
06:40 drain all of Homelander's blood for the most part the idea is that Victoria Newman for
06:44 instance is not powerful enough to pop Homelander said like she could not do that.
06:48 So the idea to is that Marie could not kill Homelander with her power personally right
06:53 now I think they're headed in the direction where Ryan winds up being the only person
06:57 who's actually strong enough to kill Homelander because his powers are based on home like
07:00 he's Homelander's biological child one of the kids gets taken to that Elmira adult rehabilitation
07:05 center that's like another version of Vought's companies that experiment on them refine the
07:09 compound V formula basically just do whatever they feel like doing with them.
07:12 They have a joke about one of the kids watching X rated superhero movies which they tease
07:16 with said Rogan's character during season three and crimson countess he was simping
07:20 for crimson countess was also cam girling like had her own version of a boys universe
07:24 only fans page the real reason why she winds up winning that full ride to Gadolkin is because
07:29 Vought thinks that her powers might wind up being profitable enough for them to earn way
07:33 more money off of like will throw a little bit of money at you because we think we're
07:36 gonna make a ton of money off of you potentially the whole idea is that Gadolkin is a university
07:42 that's not meant to make people smarter like traditional schools universities is basically
07:46 meant to train superheroes that they can make more money off of they do not care how smart
07:50 you are.
07:51 They have a longer parody of a college welcome video.
07:53 I think they release this online before the season came out with them joking about safe
07:57 spaces and all that kind of stuff is basically a bunch of Vought propaganda like Vought doesn't
08:01 care about any that stuff they say that Vought created the college in 1965 that would've
08:05 been before the Vietnam War was done in the time Stan Edgar created the Homelander project
08:09 they started experimenting on him creating Homelander basically, but on the boy show
08:14 Homelander was born in the early 80s.
08:16 So the school predates him by a long time probably just one of Vought's early attempts
08:20 to earn more money off of superheroes like that was Stan Edgar's whole thing when he
08:23 developed the idea to create Homelander like okay we have soldier boy here he's moved a
08:27 little bit of money for us, but he's way more trouble that he's worth.
08:29 I think I can do better and he creates Homelander, but one of the other projects they had one
08:33 of the other irons in the fire was this school the theater school is named after crimson
08:38 countess because she loves performing that chimps don't cry video was hilarious.
08:42 There's a bunch of stained glass windows of former current members of the seven that's
08:46 why they have crimson countess and lamplighter here and their crime fighting school is also
08:49 named after lamplighter who we saw during season two.
08:53 The funny thing about that is that he played Iceman in the X-Men movies the kind of doing
08:56 an X-Men parody with Gadolkin University and in the boys universe lamplighter is a parody
09:01 of the pyro character so sort of like him playing the other character they was with
09:04 in the X-Men movies they introduce Patrick Schwarzenegger's character Luke Riordan who's
09:09 called golden boy that's a parody of Cyclops because we're talking about X-Men here like
09:13 his girlfriend is a parody of Emma Frost, but instead of energy blast coming from his
09:17 eyes his power manifest is fire all over his body was a little bit more like sunspot if
09:22 you're making more X-Men references she enters the school for the first time clocks the security
09:26 gate, but the joke here is that the security gate is not to keep dangerous people out of
09:31 the school is to keep all the superpower students trapped inside the school they try to escape
09:36 which we see later.
09:38 That's also why the windows don't open and you can't break them either the RA on her
09:42 halls a parody of the invisible woman from fantastic four also kind of like the translucent
09:46 character reminding you that he like translucent or also naked that's the way their powers
09:51 work like they can't wear clothes.
09:52 We find out that Vought is blaming the battle at the end of season three against soldier
09:55 boy as an attack by the Russians in the comics.
09:58 There's a much bigger Russia plot that Vought has with tons of lower grade superheroes,
10:02 but I think this is meant to be something completely different.
10:04 They reference Homelander standing trial for killing that dude in the finale they release
10:08 a couple promo videos for that to with Ashley just making funny comments about hashtag home
10:12 free keep him in Ryan in your thoughts and in your prayers and be sure to post with hashtag
10:17 home free so he can see your support.
10:22 There's no way that Homelander would actually let himself be held on trial or be sent to
10:26 prison so obviously is going to go in some weird direction at the beginning of the boys
10:29 season four they mentioned that everybody thinks that Queen Maeve is dead which we know
10:33 she's not she meets her roommate Emma calling herself little cricket was basically another
10:37 parody of Ant-Man the wasp or even like Cassie Lang's character.
10:41 I don't know how big her YouTube channel is or how many subscribers she has, but she'll
10:44 be earning a lot of money from that already that becomes a big thing with some of the
10:48 other characters in the show to like a couple the other students have big social media followings
10:51 that are trying to earn a ton of money from turns out her gerbil is named David Caruso
10:55 she's like a movie buff and she named him after the Jade movie.
10:58 If you haven't seen the Jade movie is actually a pretty deep cut we find at the schools using
11:02 the stadium is sort of like an open air gym so that spectators can watch people using
11:06 their powers and they basically have sparring matches can like injustice fights from the
11:10 game they start to see this whole woods storyline with golden boy in his brother the nightmares
11:15 talking about of the woods is his brother trying to communicate with him of that means
11:19 that his brother also has psychic abilities or he visited his brother and they just wiped
11:24 his mind they haven't fully explained his brother's powers other than he has super strength
11:28 and something is wrong with his mind, but that just might be another wrinkle in the
11:31 way his powers work and then just not fully understanding how his abilities work.
11:36 Basically the woods is a secret test facility that Vought uses underneath the school to
11:39 refine people's powers compound be basically try to find ways to make more money off of
11:43 their superpowers golden boy winds up ripping that dudes armed off revealing he has a healing
11:48 factor just like Wolverine and Deadpool.
11:51 He meets the Jordan Lee character who has shape shifting abilities and can also give
11:54 off blast from her hands just a super strength depending on which gender she is like when
11:58 she's a male she has super strength super durability, but when she's a female she can
12:01 give off those energy blasts.
12:03 There couple jokes about them rejecting Marie from the crime fighting school because she
12:07 doesn't have superhero potential like she doesn't have a big enough social media following
12:10 because remember that's all Vought really cares about they don't actually care about
12:13 you stopping any real crime.
12:15 It be kind of like a Disney were able to actually create real avengers characters and only use
12:20 them for merchandising purposes Sam then tries to escape but Marie accidentally stops him
12:25 without understanding what's going on as well as Andre's character not realizing that he
12:29 is golden boys brother that a lot of little references to jokes from the main boy series
12:33 like Vought plus which is like their parody version of Disney plus did a bunch of funny
12:37 promos for that a couple years ago and Disney plus first launched apparently Zach Braff
12:41 is also now can into the boys universe.
12:43 There a bunch of real-life celebrities that they also mentioned during this to break tells
12:47 golden boy that he's supposed to be bigger than Homelander and shows in the super suit
12:50 are going to give him it actually looks a little bit kind of like the color scheme of
12:53 centuries suit in the marvel universe.
12:55 But obviously his powers aren't anything close to centuries Homelander is much closer to
12:59 being kind of like a version of century we meet chance Perdomo's character his powers
13:03 are magnetism his father has powers like that to his name polarity there basically Magneto
13:08 parodies talking about X-Men comics again they do is the cake character who's kind of
13:12 like in this weird three-way relationship with golden boy and now Andre after his death
13:17 she's meant to be a parody of Emma Frost.
13:19 She could also say she's a parody of Jean Grey she seems a little bit darker than Jean
13:22 Grey though basically blanket psychic powers.
13:25 That's why she wears the gloves because kind of like rogue in the X-Men comics the minute
13:29 that she physically touches someone skin to skin she affects their minds the couple jokes
13:34 with the Emma character hooking up with that random dude and going super small like they
13:37 almost to another termite thanos joke from the beginning of boys season three, but the
13:42 kind of say that for the end of episode three where she kind of does a version of that like
13:46 Ant-Man and Avengers endgame going inside Iron Man's armor messing with this stuff.
13:50 She explains the dark twist binder powers is just a throw up to go small and to get
13:54 bigger just to eat things.
13:55 So just as weird cycle, but every time she uses her abilities she goes even smaller.
14:00 So eventually they might want to do some sort of quantum realm kind of joke like eventually
14:04 Ant-Man goes so small that he goes into another realm in the universe of the boys mostly though
14:08 the consequence for using your powers in the wrong way or using them too much or trying
14:12 to use them for too long is you basically just went of exploding.
14:16 They go out to the club, but there's an accident were Andre accidentally almost kills a girl
14:20 and they try to blame it on Marie because Vought thinks that she has the lowest potential
14:24 for superheroes like no no we need to protect the valuable superheroes golden boy starts
14:28 remembering what actually happened to his brother than kills Brinkerhoff tries to kill
14:31 Marie and then winds up killing himself just going supernova basically while this crazy
14:36 stuff is also going down to make a bunch of a train turbo rush jokes that a whole parody
14:40 video that they did for during season three.
14:42 It was a quick post credit scene at the end of episode one basically like a next week
14:46 on kind of trailer like this is what's gonna happen the rest of the boys series, but they
14:50 do it as if Ashley is releasing like a promo video in the universe of the boys episode
14:54 two is called first day is in the first day of actual classes they have a black and white
14:58 sign basically like a keep out private property sign as they clean up the damage we get another
15:02 cameo scene from Ashley with the school's board agreeing on their spin story like we're
15:06 gonna blame it all on golden boy to say he had a psychotic break than at the memorial
15:10 for everybody to die Kate also makes one of the students yelled Jumanji while hitting
15:14 himself in the nuts with the baseball bat all day which they pay off the joke later
15:18 in the episode two with them just walking the kid in the background still hitting himself
15:22 hours and hours later.
15:23 Their bunch of jokes about Vought merch like Vought has versions of Apple products like
15:27 speakers air pods that they call V pods they even give Marie of Vought branded vibrator
15:32 we meet Andre's father Polaris who comes the publicity shoot when he says he was younger
15:36 had to say matchbox 20 from a crazy person at Lollapalooza that would put him around
15:40 like the mid to late 90s.
15:42 It sounds like his father wants him to take the mantle of polarity from him and it does
15:45 seem like he genuinely cares about him, but is on the board of the school and knows everything
15:50 the Vought is doing is trying to protect his son from that because later when he asked
15:54 about is like no no no you cannot talk about this.
15:56 They will kill you on the spot.
15:57 A lot of questions about their relationship to like is he is biological son did he does
16:01 him with compound V when he was a baby was he born with powers.
16:04 I think the whole idea is that in the universe of the boys is a little bit different in the
16:07 comics but on the TV show they want to see that Ryan is the first superhero who was born
16:12 with his superpowers and like superheroes can potentially have babies on the show at
16:16 least but if their children develop compound V superpowers is because they give them the
16:20 serum after they were born.
16:22 The bigger twist behind this in the comics in the comics the side effect of compound
16:26 V is that it basically makes you sterile superheroes are supposed to be able to have children,
16:30 but comic book Homelander is meant to be the first person who actually does sire a biological
16:35 son this is whole running storyline with Marie sort of drinking the Vahkule kind of leaning
16:39 into all the propaganda saying the lies that they ask her to say in the interviews, but
16:44 when they call her the black starlight like yes is meant to be a joke.
16:47 But I think the real joke here is the starlight eventually expose Vahk in the seven and turned
16:52 against them and it sounds like Marie is gonna wind up doing something similar.
16:55 They reveal Adam Bourke PJ Burns character from the main show is now leading the theater
16:59 school but it's sort of punishment for exposing himself to Minka Kelly who is also now can
17:04 into the boys universe their couple jokes about the dawn of the seven movie from last
17:08 season two and apparently he also is looking to hook up with every single one of his students
17:13 like mold that clay them because Vahk feels like it can profit from what happened around
17:17 golden boys death like this whole spin they let Marie into the crime fighting school because
17:22 they want to call her the guardian of Gadolkin basically guardians of the galaxy reference
17:26 when Emma's trying to work with the girl who then later outs her the looking at a bunch
17:30 of parody movies in universe like dawn of the seven pocket romance basically a bunch
17:34 of movies about shrinking in Ant-Man related characters.
17:38 Apparently they're all movies that were made by termite under Vahk when he was still alive
17:42 they make a Bryan Singer joke saying the termite was also connected to all the shady stuff
17:46 that he got up to in real life and that's actually true like all the nasty stuff that
17:50 you hear about Bryan Singer notice when she says they think the termite died of an OD
17:54 he was actually killed by Homelander during the boys season three when he should have
17:57 a hero gas and smashing him with his boot which is meant to be a joke on the Loki Ant-Man
18:02 boot quote from the avengers movie and has no quarrel with the boot.
18:10 They start learning more about golden boys brother and Vahk's cover story was that he
18:13 died inside the sage grove facility that the same special lab Vahk was using during season
18:18 two to create a more stable version of the compound V formula just testing on all the
18:22 subjects there's another joke about Kate using her powers to force a couple guards to get
18:26 it on with the flashlight RIP to that guard he's gonna need a lot of surgery after that
18:31 that episode three is titled think brink which is the title of the fundraiser the Vahk throws
18:35 to earn more investors for the company and for the school like the whole idea is the
18:39 basis just trying to trot these superhero kids out showing them look how much money
18:43 we can actually make off of this.
18:44 So please invest in our company invest in the school they have a flashback to sage grove
18:48 from three years ago.
18:49 Remember this is the same lab from season two to reveal the back story for what happened
18:52 with golden boys brother they pass love sausage in the hallway.
18:56 He also came back during the hero gas and episode we learned that his brother Sam is
19:00 just one of those kids who doesn't learn to control their compound V powers.
19:03 So he thinks that he's crazy, but it might be some wrinkle in the way that his powers
19:07 work he might have some weird mental abilities to Marie winds up finding Emma who stuck really
19:13 small and needs to eat to grow back.
19:14 She said that she's been fighting ants all day because she's grown so small.
19:19 Apparently all the versions of ant-man in the boys universe are not friends to ants
19:22 like they are in the actual marvel movies.
19:24 The Dean reveals that she used to have a daughter who died.
19:27 Maybe something went wrong with her compound V treatments because it sounds like she's
19:31 worked for Vought for a long time, but it also sounds like used to be a clinical psychologist
19:35 in the reason why Vought hired her to manage the school is because she's so good at dealing
19:39 with all these crazy kids with crazy powers, but at least in present day her real job is
19:44 being like the true job is just raising more money not actually helping kids.
19:49 They have another joke about the deep eating his friend Timothy the octopus from season
19:52 three with Voughter burger the calamari poppers when Jordan's parents come to visit them.
19:57 Then Emma winds up using her powers to break into Sam's holding cell notice they've got
20:02 a Betsy here with fire based powers there a bunch of fire based characters in the boys
20:05 universe, but it's not that their superheroes in all these cells and Sam said he knows the
20:11 codes so obviously the trying to tease him opening all the doors and everybody going
20:15 crazy.
20:16 Notice he has a payback poster with Jensen Ackles soldier boy from season three Jensen
20:20 Ackles is also guest starring on the boys Gen V, but they didn't say which episode he
20:24 appears I'm assuming is going to be later in the season.
20:26 Most of the boys characters from the main show will be on this Gen V show zoom and enhance
20:31 is also got some Homelander sheets that actually kind of seems like a nightmare knowing what
20:34 Homelander is really like the couple more jokes clowning on the deep and on Clancy Brown's
20:39 character with the deep saying that while the school turn me into the smart person I
20:43 am today when reality he is dumb as rocks remember the school isn't about making people
20:47 smarter or teaching them anything other than how to make more money when Emma is talking
20:52 to Sam we find that the Star Wars is also can into the boys universe and apparently
20:56 Sam's favorite movie is water world which they tell but to jokes about like no it's
21:00 not just about him drinking his own pee.
21:02 There's a bunch of other stuff going on there to he almost winds up selling her on water
21:06 world being a solid movie.
21:08 Then the guards learn that she's there.
21:09 She winds up pulling another version of Athena's going inside the dudes brain killing him and
21:13 then obviously the next step is unlocking all the cells and them escaping the rest the
21:17 way.
21:18 But another is a lot of questions about what can happen in the rest the episodes like will
21:21 bought continue to try and spin the story about this crazy breakout this happening inside
21:26 the underground lab right now what can happen with Emma is she also going to take off in
21:30 the school to for the most part no matter what happens like no matter how bad the disaster
21:34 seems bought Ashley always has some crazy spin story to make it seem like it's no big
21:39 deal.
21:40 So like half the school could blow up in this giant superhero battle and bought which is
21:43 blame on the gas like like no no just a small explosion were dealing with it now no big
21:47 deal just another day for the most part the series was pretty solid.
21:51 I don't think is quite as good as the main show or quite as good to say something like
21:54 invincible will be getting invincible season 2 episodes later this year to they also tease
21:58 them I go for like seven seasons.
