00:11 Back to basics, we're back to the challenging challenge of scuba diving
00:15 even without scuba diving equipment.
00:17 In many documentaries and movies,
00:20 some people are still scared even though it's hard and dangerous.
00:24 But the feeling is game-changing when you learn,
00:28 just like what I did.
00:30 [music]
00:34 Down here, it's better down.
00:36 In Asia's leading dive destination for the fifth consecutive year.
00:40 But what if the under the sea paradise of the Philippines?
00:44 We're more free to swim, minus the diving equipment.
00:48 [laughter]
00:50 It's not that great.
00:52 There!
00:53 [music]
00:57 Let's go, G, let's go free diving here in Cebu.
01:00 Unlike scuba diving, which can be done with the help of breathing equipment,
01:06 free diving is a water sport using only a single breath.
01:11 We'll learn how to do that here at Contique Beach, Maribago, Lapo-Lapo City in Cebu.
01:17 Let's go.
01:18 [music]
01:19 Because it's getting more and more popular,
01:22 many are now taking free diving sessions all over the country.
01:27 I saw the potential of it also.
01:29 It's a good way to start a business that you like.
01:36 Pro tip, join a good training before you dive in open water.
01:42 It's all about relaxation, it's all about lowering our heart rate.
01:45 The lower your heart rate is, the better your breath hold,
01:48 the longer your breath hold, the better your dive will be.
01:50 I'm nervous because it's our first time.
01:53 The way they described it, you need to have mastery.
01:57 So, I'm nervous about the initial times.
01:59 But let's change the game and let's try free diving.
02:02 [music]
02:06 Goggles check, snorkel check, fins check, GoPro check, myself.
02:13 [music]
02:15 I can do it. Check it.
02:16 [laughs]
02:17 It's time to become a merman, I mean, a legit free diver.
02:22 We'll try how to equalize underwater.
02:26 Equalization is done to get the ears used to the pressure underwater.
02:31 The line knot is down, that's what we're going to lower.
02:35 So, we'll try it out.
02:37 Our first dive, we're at 3 meters.
02:40 So, my first feeling is that the challenge in free diving, especially when you're going down,
02:47 is getting used to the equalization because you need it.
02:50 So far, it's given 6.2 meters, that's around maybe 13 feet.
02:59 Going up, I feel like we're going up.
03:01 We felt that there's a depth, we were going hard at it.
03:07 After three attempts line diving feet first, let's try to get our heads down first.
03:14 I feel like we're going up.
03:20 Even though we're fighting, the qualification is okay.
03:24 I'll just shout out my video where I threw a kettlebell under you.
03:30 [laughs]
03:33 For this session's finale,
03:35 First try of free diving, I don't know what to say.
03:39 It's a challenge.
03:41 It may look easy, but in reality it's really challenging.
03:47 I'm not sure how far I'll go, but at least, you know, baby steps are getting there.
03:53 I'll definitely do it again.
03:56 I hope you guys could try it, especially when you're going deeper, deeper, deeper, deeper.
04:01 It's all about the feeling.
04:03 [music]
