00:00 - You're gonna be a 187.
00:01 - It's a 187.
00:02 - Homicide.
00:04 - Okay.
00:04 From investigating a crime scene,
00:06 a new clue has emerged.
00:08 To forensic analysis.
00:09 - I don't see anything that looks like a fingerprint.
00:13 - To even a high stakes interrogation.
00:15 - I know you did this.
00:16 - Am I gonna slam the table?
00:18 - Unfortunately, no.
00:20 - We've seen it a million times on TV
00:22 and I wanna find out how accurate
00:24 your favorite shows are to the real thing.
00:27 - I wanna find this person.
00:29 - Who've done it?
00:30 Find out on this episode of Challenge Accepted.
00:33 - Tonight, Michelle is out with Lisa Marcheski.
00:38 She's a supervisor for a firearms unit.
00:41 Heidi Hebert, a crime scene specialist.
00:43 And then Ricky Escalante, he is a homicide detective.
00:46 And he's tasked with conducting
00:48 the first line investigation.
00:49 - So we know what the call was.
00:51 We know where the victim is.
00:53 So you're looking for things that don't belong, right?
00:55 What's not natural in the scene?
00:57 (suspenseful music)
01:00 Is there anything remarkable about what you see here?
01:03 - Well, there's blood on the car.
01:06 - Yep, we have signs that there's blood staining
01:08 on the vehicle, right?
01:09 So it's a gut shot wound.
01:11 - And it looks like the body hit the car and then slid down.
01:14 There are bullet casings in the car.
01:21 - So that's actually a bullet, an actual projectile.
01:26 Just by looking at this,
01:28 where do you think the perpetrator would have shot it from?
01:31 - Maybe from behind here?
01:33 - Yeah, that's a possibility as well, right?
01:36 - I found a clue.
01:43 - Oh, okay, what did we find?
01:44 - Potentially the murder weapon.
01:47 - Oh, wow, okay.
01:48 - Oh my God, that was very thrilling.
01:51 Is it exciting every time you find a clue?
01:53 - It really is.
01:54 - Oh my God, okay.
01:55 I'm trying to be professional,
01:56 but this is really exciting.
01:57 - You would be a superstar at this scene right now.
01:59 - Yeah, absolutely.
02:01 - The first job I wanted to have as a kid
02:03 was to be a detective
02:04 after reading "The Boxcar Children" and "Nancy Drew."
02:07 It's a really interesting balance
02:08 because it is very exciting to find a clue,
02:12 but then at the same time,
02:13 it's very shocking to imagine this being real.
02:17 - So let's try to put ourselves
02:18 in the shooter's position, right?
02:20 Say your first theory was,
02:22 hey, maybe we have a shooter shooting from here,
02:24 then where would our shell casings be?
02:27 'Cause we don't know where the person,
02:28 the perpetrator shot from.
02:30 - Oh, I got a clue!
02:32 - Oh, there you go.
02:33 - Yes.
02:34 - Now you gotta be careful where you step.
02:35 - Right, okay.
02:36 (gasps)
02:37 There's another one and another one.
02:38 So multiple shots.
02:40 - That's huge, yeah.
02:41 Just by looking at this,
02:43 is there anything that you can glean
02:45 as to the identity or-
02:46 - Well, it seems like it's RRP
02:49 because she's on the first floor and she lives here.
02:51 So based on the evidence discovered so far,
02:54 my current working theory is that the perpetrator
02:56 took five shots from the front stoop,
02:59 stashed the gun in the tire,
03:01 and then fled the scene.
03:02 And based on the suspicious nature of the 911 call,
03:06 the victim's girlfriend who made the call
03:08 is my number one suspect.
03:11 - The next thing in the process is
03:13 we're gonna start assigning placards
03:14 to each item of evidence.
03:16 - And you're gonna take photos.
03:17 We're gonna take 'em 90 degrees one way,
03:20 90 degrees another way.
03:21 - Spatial relationship between our items of evidence.
03:24 - That's gonna be really important
03:25 because these are gonna be the images
03:27 that are gonna be projected in court.
03:29 - You have to show the jury what you saw.
03:32 We did a couple search warrants on Monday
03:34 and I took 797 photos.
03:37 - That's how many photos some Instagram girls take
03:40 for one picture, so.
03:41 Okay, I just have to say something.
03:43 It felt really cool to like walk under the police tape.
03:46 - Isn't it cool?
03:47 - Best job ever.
03:48 Love my job.
03:49 - Is it not like scary or sad?
03:53 - It's sad.
03:54 I mean, parts of it can be sad, right?
03:57 But think of how much good you're doing, right?
04:00 - I see everything.
04:03 I'm a detective.
04:04 Yeah.
04:05 I'm excited to have a partner
04:07 'cause usually I do this stuff alone.
04:10 - The partnership is important.
04:11 They do play off one another.
04:13 - Hey.
04:14 - Sometimes it could be knowing what the other is doing,
04:17 what the other one is thinking.
04:18 - You ever wear a double billed hat?
04:20 - Can't say I have.
04:23 - Well, I was gonna bring one,
04:25 but then they said it'd be embarrassing.
04:26 - You should have.
04:27 - No.
04:28 - I should have?
04:29 I told you I should have brought the double billed hats.
04:31 Are you (beep) kidding me, Garrett?
04:33 You know, when I was thinking about this challenge,
04:35 I realized there's one objective
04:37 and that's to build a strong,
04:40 best friends level relationship with my partner.
04:43 And it starts with a secret handshake.
04:45 - How are you?
04:46 Are you?
04:48 - Doing great.
04:48 That's the beginning of the secret handshake.
04:51 - All right.
04:52 Take one.
04:53 - First part.
04:54 There will be 12.
04:56 - All right.
04:57 - This is your gun box.
04:58 - Gun box.
04:59 - You're gonna reach in.
05:01 - And take the murder weapon with my own hands.
05:04 - Okay.
05:05 - Feels really bizarre touching a murder weapon
05:07 knowing that an hour before someone ended someone's life.
05:11 - Yeah.
05:12 - Now what kind of head stamp was it?
05:15 R and P Luger?
05:19 - So are all the head stamps consistent, right?
05:21 Do they all match?
05:22 - And what you don't see on TV
05:24 is that typically these crime scenes
05:25 can take upwards of 10 hours to process
05:28 with more complex cases
05:30 reaching 35 hours of onsite processing.
05:33 - I have five detectives on six homicide teams
05:36 that I roll with.
05:37 So that'd be too many.
05:38 - Six homicide teams?
05:40 - We have six homicide teams.
05:41 - That's how many homicides are happening in San Diego?
05:43 - Sometimes I see Ricky more than I see my husband.
05:46 - But do you guys have a secret handshake?
05:50 - No, we don't.
05:51 You do?
05:52 - Yes. - You do?
05:53 - Nice. - Working on it.
05:54 - Nice.
05:55 Well, he'll give you one.
05:56 - So if we start here.
05:59 - Oh, are we doing the handshake again?
06:02 All right.
06:03 - Professional handshake.
06:05 Dumbbells.
06:06 - I don't know if I can do that one.
06:07 - The spin.
06:08 - It's dangerous, I can see it.
06:09 - Okay, you're right, you're right.
06:10 We're safe.
06:11 - Let's do the top.
06:13 And we'll do the professional.
06:15 There you go, I like it.
06:17 I think that could work.
06:17 - Really?
06:18 - I think that one could work.
06:19 - You don't want to add in like an assessment scene.
06:21 Okay, you're the cool one, I'm not, so.
06:25 - No, no, no, you're the cool one.
06:27 I definitely am not.
06:28 - Okay, okay.
06:29 I think it's fog time.
06:31 - Let's do the fog thing.
06:32 - Okay, so now we attach the lasers
06:36 to the end of the trajectory rods.
06:38 And this is gonna tell us the path of the bullet
06:41 that made these holes in the car.
06:42 And the location of the shooter.
06:44 And you can see the shots originated from the balcony.
06:47 So, it came from up there.
06:51 - A new clue has emerged.
06:56 What?
06:58 - Just because the cartridge cases are located down here.
07:00 Yeah, it seems like maybe the shooter
07:01 was on the first floor.
07:03 - Oh my God.
07:03 - But from the second floor.
07:04 - So it might not be the girlfriend.
07:06 - I don't speculate on who the suspect is.
07:09 All I can say in my opinions and interpretations
07:11 is that the shots came from the balcony.
07:13 - Dramatic.
07:14 I wanna find this person.
07:17 Who done it?
07:18 With the new information gathered
07:19 from the trajectory lasers,
07:21 our new working theory is that the perpetrator
07:23 actually took their shots from the second story balcony.
07:27 And because the victim's girlfriend's apartment
07:29 is on the first floor,
07:30 it's leading me to believe
07:31 it might not be the girlfriend after all.
07:34 So, without any strong suspect leads,
07:36 we now have to turn to forensic evidence
07:38 recovered at the crime scene
07:40 in order to pinpoint a new suspect.
07:42 - Two nights ago, you were called out
07:44 and you responded to a homicide scene.
07:46 You collected a handgun, a bullet, and six cartridge cases.
07:49 Yesterday, we did our autopsy.
07:51 And now what we get off the gun,
07:54 do you remember what I said it was good for?
07:56 - DNA and fingerprints?
07:57 - Uh-huh.
07:58 Your job is to process that firearm
08:00 so they can get that information.
08:01 - I'm very nervous handling it
08:03 because obviously what we find here
08:05 can impact whether or not somebody goes to prison.
08:07 It could impact whether or not we find the person
08:11 who did this.
08:12 - 100%.
08:13 So, pick it up.
08:13 You're good with the grip part, right?
08:15 - Okay. - 'Cause there's no prints there.
08:16 You're gonna look at it under the light.
08:19 What did you just do?
08:21 You laid it on a dirty surface. - Oh, no!
08:24 We literally just talked about this.
08:26 They keep contaminating everything.
08:28 It's a really good thing that this is a mock crime scene
08:31 'cause if this was real,
08:32 I would have ruined the whole thing.
08:34 - So, I don't see anything that looks
08:36 like a classic fingerprint.
08:38 - You visually examined it.
08:40 We saw nothing.
08:41 So, what we're gonna do now
08:43 is you're gonna put it in the chamber to be super glued.
08:46 That is a cyanoacrylate ester chamber
08:49 that will fix any prints that you couldn't visualize
08:52 and make them visible.
08:53 - Oh, my gosh, this is so cool!
08:55 - So, hit start.
08:57 And there you go.
08:59 - Wait, so what's happening right now?
09:01 - It's bringing the humidity up.
09:02 The hot plate is heating up to evaporate
09:05 that little glue you put in there
09:07 and it's gonna make it a fume
09:08 and it's gonna fill that chamber with that fume
09:11 to affix those prints to that gun.
09:13 - Wow!
09:14 You were talking earlier just about, like,
09:16 you feel that you're making a difference in the community.
09:19 What's, like, the biggest impact case you've been a part of?
09:23 - 2009, I had a young girl
09:26 that was found in an abandoned house.
09:28 She had been murdered
09:29 and we spent probably over a month processing the scene.
09:33 Four years later, we made an arrest in that case.
09:36 - Four years?
09:37 - It took four years.
09:38 He was convicted.
09:39 I walked out into the hallway after I got off the stand
09:42 and a gentleman came up and he goes, "I'm her father."
09:45 He actually gave me a hug.
09:47 He goes, "I had no idea the work you guys put in.
09:50 "That made a difference."
09:52 Did any prints develop on it?
09:56 - So many more, oh, my gosh!
09:58 - Right?
09:59 - So the super glue, like, it almost provides more contrast
10:03 so that you can see everything.
10:05 - 100%.
10:06 - This is what you see in TV shows,
10:07 like the brushing for the prints.
10:09 - Yes.
10:10 - You're going to lay that tape.
10:11 That tape's gonna pick up all that powder.
10:14 Now you wanna look under the light again
10:15 and see if you can see prints.
10:17 Did they come up?
10:18 - Yes.
10:19 - Awesome!
10:20 - Yay, we got the prints!
10:21 - Yay!
10:22 - You're gonna impound this down in property
10:24 and it's gonna go to Leighton Prints
10:26 and you're gonna see if they ID somebody.
10:28 - Let's do it!
10:30 - So while we wait for the Leighton prints to process,
10:32 the next step is to confirm that the firearm
10:34 found at the crime scene
10:36 was actually the firearm used in the crime.
10:38 - Welcome to the firearms unit.
10:41 - Oh, my gosh, wow!
10:43 - So you've got everything from revolvers
10:46 to small semi-automatic pistols, all different calibers.
10:49 - This looks like it's from a comedy sketch.
10:51 - Felt buckle gun.
10:52 - What?
10:53 Oh, my gosh, so you can wear it?
10:55 - There you go.
10:56 From those little tiny ones to giant ones.
10:59 - Oh, my gosh, this is like--
11:01 - Yes.
11:01 - This is heavy!
11:02 - Yep, there's also a grenade launcher up there.
11:06 - So casual.
11:07 Why do we need all of these guns here?
11:11 - Not only for training, but also to recognize
11:14 and be able to testify about all different types of weapons
11:17 from anything that's gonna fire a black powder,
11:20 like an old musket, to modern--
11:22 - Muskets in here?
11:23 - Yes, full automatic firearms.
11:25 - When a bullet is fired from a gun,
11:27 the gun leaves microscopic marks
11:29 on the bullet and the cartridge case.
11:31 These marks are like ballistic fingerprints.
11:34 And because we recovered a bullet from the scene,
11:37 we can actually test fire the suspect's gun
11:39 to see if the marks on the crime scene bullet
11:41 match the marks on the test fire bullet.
11:44 - You collected a bullet and cartridge cases,
11:46 so we're gonna use the water tank.
11:48 - What is this device?
11:49 - It's gonna actually collect the bullet
11:51 once it's fired into the tank,
11:53 and it's gonna keep it in a pristine form,
11:55 and it won't affect the markings.
11:57 - I'm assuming I look in this hole.
11:58 - Whoa!
11:59 - So this is going to generally,
12:01 you're gonna put the muzzle here,
12:02 it's gonna fire into the tank,
12:04 and then this is gonna capture your cartridge case.
12:06 - This is like the ice bath that I use for boxing.
12:09 - There you go.
12:10 - We should not go inside there.
12:11 - No, don't go inside there, no.
12:12 (dramatic music)
12:15 (gun cocks)
12:17 (gunshot)
12:29 - Woo!
12:33 - All right, gun's clear.
12:34 All right.
12:37 And, fired bullet.
12:39 - Wow.
12:40 - And so you can see the lands and grooves from the barrel.
12:42 - Oh.
12:44 - So the next step is to look at this under a microscope?
12:46 - Yep.
12:47 - All right. - That's the next step.
12:49 - Welcome to the scope room.
12:51 - Okay, I've been waiting for cool lighting,
12:53 and we finally have it.
12:54 I'm so excited, yes!
12:56 - This is a comparison microscope.
12:58 What's unique about these is that you can look
13:00 at two items at the same time.
13:02 - Almost like an overlay image.
13:03 - An overlay, and you're trying to determine
13:06 whether or not they have similar markings.
13:08 On the left is your evidence
13:10 that you collected from the scene,
13:11 and on the right is the test fire.
13:13 - I don't know how detailed we need to be here,
13:16 but at first glance, they kind of look like they match.
13:20 - Yeah.
13:21 - But, however, they're like slightly off,
13:23 and I don't know if that is impactful or not.
13:25 - So that's what you would expect.
13:27 This is your firing pin impression,
13:29 and these are your breech face markings.
13:31 So this is all from the drag of the firing pin.
13:34 And these marks are all giving you a match
13:38 that these two were fired by, the same weapon.
13:40 And so we can say the cartridge cases you found
13:42 at that homicide scene are from that gun.
13:45 - So we've confirmed that the cartridges we found
13:48 do match the weapon that was found on scene.
13:51 - Yep.
13:52 - We've sent the fingerprints and DNA for analysis.
13:56 - So now, what's the fingerprint result?
13:58 - We gotta find out.
13:59 - That's next.
14:01 - Contrary to what we often see on TV,
14:02 finding a fingerprint match
14:04 is not as simple as it's portrayed.
14:06 Not only does an individual's print need to already be
14:09 in the database to even find a match,
14:11 but the search itself can take upwards of several hours,
14:14 depending on how narrow or wide your search parameters are.
14:18 And so, with the help of a latent print examiner,
14:21 we are finally able to ID a suspect
14:23 based on the fingerprints found on the gun.
14:25 - So the main things we're looking for
14:27 are when one ridge splits into two,
14:29 we refer to that as a bifurcation,
14:31 or when one ridge abruptly ends.
14:34 We call that an ending ridge.
14:35 So looking for those two things right next to each other.
14:39 - So where was the print on the left found?
14:41 - This was from a DMV record.
14:44 - So, if we have the DMV record,
14:48 that means we know who was holding this gun.
14:51 - That's correct.
14:52 - Wait, would we say this is conclusive?
14:55 - We'd say that the impression from this magazine
14:58 has been identified to this DMV record.
15:02 - It's time for some questioning.
15:03 - It's time for some questioning
15:04 to find out how this person's print got on that magazine.
15:08 (dramatic music)
15:11 - What's it?
15:13 - Come on.
15:14 - Oh.
15:14 - Whoa, business time.
15:15 - Sorry.
15:16 - Assess the scene.
15:18 - That better not be on there.
15:19 - You gotta say assess the scene.
15:21 This is the stuff of movies.
15:23 - Yes, yes.
15:24 So a lot has happened since we last met, right?
15:27 We went out to the scene,
15:28 and obviously we now have somebody in custody
15:31 on this case, right?
15:32 - Is this the part where one of us is a good cop
15:35 and the other's a bad cop?
15:36 - Might be the bad cop.
15:37 - Close.
15:40 In some way, we gotta figure out
15:42 how to elicit information that they have
15:45 that would be critical to our investigation.
15:47 - Am I gonna slam the table?
15:49 (laughing)
15:52 - Unfortunately, no.
15:53 The first thing that we wanna try to do in an interview
15:55 is try to build a comfortable rapport, okay?
15:58 It's just like talking.
15:59 - The good cop part.
16:01 - Sure, yes, good cop.
16:02 During the interview, let's just try to be good cops
16:04 the entire way.
16:05 - Nice, nice.
16:06 Okay.
16:06 - Okay?
16:07 - You better watch out, though.
16:08 (laughing)
16:10 - Okay, ultimately at the end of the day,
16:11 we want the truth.
16:12 That's all we care about, right?
16:14 So see what they tell us.
16:16 - See where were you on the night of the 15th.
16:19 - Exactly.
16:20 - And then I slam the table.
16:22 - Not there.
16:24 - So first we'd just like to have an understanding
16:25 of where you were on March 15th.
16:28 - I went and saw a movie with a girl on scene.
16:32 Her name's Brooke.
16:33 Yeah, we went and saw a movie at,
16:35 it was a Century Cinema on the west side.
16:37 - Century Cinema, okay.
16:39 Do you know Chris March, by chance?
16:42 - He's my neighbor, Chris.
16:45 - Do you know his girlfriend?
16:47 - Not personally, no.
16:49 - Okay.
16:50 - I mean, we're not friends, if that's what you mean.
16:54 - So you guys have never had an extensive conversation?
16:57 - They fight a lot.
16:58 I don't know if you guys know this.
17:00 Pretty loud.
17:02 - Is everything okay with them?
17:05 - Oh yeah, yeah, we're just trying to get
17:07 a better understanding of what was going on and everything.
17:11 - When's the last time that you saw Chris?
17:15 - Probably just a few days ago.
17:18 Like, probably three days ago.
17:20 - I wanna be as transparent as possible here, okay?
17:23 - Please.
17:23 - And I'm sure you have some questions.
17:25 - Yeah, yeah.
17:26 - Unfortunately, something happened to your neighbor, Chris.
17:29 He was shot in front of your apartment.
17:32 You do understand, nowadays,
17:34 there's surveillance cameras everywhere.
17:35 - Yeah, yeah.
17:37 - Do you know anything about what happened to Chris?
17:39 - No.
17:42 - No? - No.
17:43 - How do you feel about him being shot?
17:46 - It's a tough question.
17:48 I mean, it sounds like he wasn't a great guy.
17:53 - Yeah.
17:53 - I don't know, I don't know.
17:54 I didn't really know him.
17:56 - My partner and I are gonna step out real quick,
17:58 'cause there's some things that we have to review
17:59 that we wanna share with you.
18:01 So just stand by for a second.
18:02 - Yeah.
18:03 - Oh my God.
18:09 Partner, that was really intense.
18:13 - Yeah.
18:13 - Really intense.
18:14 I'm stressed because I don't even know
18:17 if this is the person anymore.
18:19 What kinds of questions can we be asking?
18:21 - Did you notice how he was acting,
18:22 like when we mentioned Chris?
18:24 - Yeah, he's a little shifty.
18:26 - Yeah, right? - Yeah.
18:27 - That was a little odd.
18:28 I think what we could do in this situation
18:30 is recap the fact that he told us
18:32 he went to go watch a movie.
18:34 There's no evidence that he purchased a movie ticket.
18:36 So hey, we need you to be honest about where you were.
18:39 - Norman, we called the movie theater
18:43 and they have no record of your debit card being swiped.
18:46 - Well, that's weird.
18:47 I mean, maybe I paid with cash.
18:51 Maybe I just got it mixed up.
18:53 - We called Brooke too,
18:54 and she said she wasn't with you on Wednesday.
18:58 Is there anything else you wanna tell us
19:00 about what happened on Wednesday?
19:01 - Yeah, I was home.
19:06 I was home.
19:07 Yeah, I heard them fighting.
19:11 I heard them fighting.
19:13 - All we need to know is the truth
19:15 about what happened on the 15th.
19:17 - I didn't do anything.
19:20 - This is truly insane.
19:22 - You have him right there.
19:24 Like he wants to tell you.
19:26 You can't ask.
19:27 - Listen, if you were defending her
19:29 and it's legitimately self-defense,
19:31 then we could look into that
19:33 and we can corroborate that it was.
19:35 I know you mentioned some domestic violence stuff.
19:37 - Sure.
19:38 - Did it sound like he was the aggressor
19:40 or was she the aggressor?
19:41 - He was the aggressor, it sounded like.
19:43 - This is the best opportunity for you
19:46 to tell us the truth.
19:47 - We're at a very pivotal point for you.
19:49 There is no question about where we're at
19:51 in this investigation, okay?
19:53 You just need to be honest.
19:55 - I saw this guy chase his girlfriend
19:56 out into the street and attack her.
19:58 - Were you trying to help her?
20:00 - I don't really know what to tell you.
20:01 Like I didn't kill this guy.
20:04 I'm glad she's okay.
20:05 - Norman, you said you didn't kill him?
20:08 We never told you that he had died.
20:11 - So you are aware that something did happen?
20:14 Because at the beginning of this conversation--
20:14 - You told me that something happened to this guy.
20:17 He got shot.
20:19 And you're telling me that I shot him.
20:21 I did not, but you know,
20:22 I can't say that I'm upset that it happened.
20:24 - Just take a break.
20:26 If you did this--
20:27 - We're past that.
20:28 Did he do it?
20:29 - I know.
20:30 Like can I say that?
20:31 - Yeah, if you're confident that he did it, right?
20:33 Then you look him dead in the eye and you tell him.
20:35 - We're confident you did this.
20:37 - No, we're confident.
20:38 I know you did this.
20:38 - I know you did this.
20:39 - I know you did this.
20:40 Now it's a matter of why.
20:43 I wanna know if I'm looking at a serial killer
20:45 that has absolutely no sense,
20:47 doesn't care about anybody,
20:48 or if you're just a decent guy
20:50 that ran up on a situation--
20:52 - And wanted to do the right thing.
20:53 - And wanted to do the right thing.
20:55 Norman, here are the facts.
20:57 Your fingerprints and only your fingerprints
21:00 were found on the gun.
21:01 The bullet trajectory leads right to your apartment balcony.
21:06 I'm not asking if you did this.
21:09 I know you did this.
21:11 And I just need to know why.
21:14 I need to know if I'm looking at a serial killer
21:17 who is on the loose, killing people,
21:19 or if I'm looking at someone
21:21 who is doing this innocently out of self-defense.
21:24 And if you say you're a good guy,
21:27 I believe that you are a good person.
21:29 And this is your opportunity to prove that to us.
21:32 - I was trying to protect her.
21:37 All right, I saw the guy chase her out onto the street,
21:43 he was hitting her,
21:44 and just, he was gonna kill her.
21:47 You know, and...
21:53 He was gonna kill her.
21:54 So I grabbed this gun I got,
21:58 and at first I was just gonna scare him,
22:03 I thought maybe I could just get him to stop.
22:06 You know, I kept shooting 'til he was on the ground.
22:11 - Thank you for telling the truth.
22:18 - All right, you got the confession and scenario.
22:21 - We got the confession!
22:23 - Yay!
22:24 Oh, so hard!
22:26 That was so hard.
22:30 I just...
22:31 - It's easy to get caught up in the glamor
22:33 of what Hollywood feeds us,
22:35 where complex cases are often solved
22:37 with a single touch of a button.
22:40 But what our favorite movies and TV shows
22:42 don't fully capture is just how hard
22:45 these individuals work to do their jobs,
22:47 with relentless dedication,
22:49 unwavering attention to detail,
22:52 and a tireless pursuit of the truth.
22:54 And while this case was coming to a close,
22:57 there was one last loose end that I needed to tie up.
23:00 I'm gonna get that handshake.
23:04 - Is this like a serious thing you guys want?
23:06 Like I don't--
23:07 - Yeah, come on, Ricky.
23:08 - I don't, this is like a cop thing to do.
23:10 - High five.
23:12 Whoa, business.
23:13 - Assess the scene.
23:16 - The scene, come on!
23:17 Partners in crime.
23:21 - One interesting fact about this project
23:23 is I was actually in the middle
23:25 of a 12-week boxing fight camp while filming this video.
23:29 And a key part of balancing all of that was hydration.
