00:51 And what's the story behind your band name, The Eastside Band?

00:57 Yes, we have a name called Eastside.
01:00 So the band started 10 years ago.
01:05 We came from different bands before.
01:08 We played in rock bands.

01:13 What's the name of the noisy band?

01:27 And from there, we always hang out in the bars.

01:43 And our band didn't have a name yet.
01:45 While we were playing, a customer asked what the name of our band was.
01:49 And my vocalist, Nety,
01:52 saw a print on the shirt of a customer,
01:57 "Eastside."
01:58 So from there, we decided to go with the name Eastside.

02:08 You said that when you met, you're from different genres.
02:11 How did you get together?
02:13 Considering that you're in metal,
02:16 how did you get together as a group?
02:19 Yeah.
02:21 We play a variety of songs.
02:26 But when we started the YouTube and Facebook page,
02:30 people liked the ballads and the classics.
02:35 And the songs that they can sing along.
02:38 So how did we come up into one group?
02:41 It's just a feeling, right?
02:45 Because what people are looking for, we gave it to them.

02:54 It became our inspiration to do it.

03:01 we came to a point that our fondon should be like this.

03:13 But we heard that you used to sing on the veranda of your house.

03:24 Actually, it was on the veranda of Shadex's house.

03:32 our intention was to gather more live gigs.
03:35 Then we started uploading it on social media,
03:39 on YouTube and Facebook.

03:44 Then we just continued making videos here in the garage and on the veranda.

03:54 But we don't use it because it's not that popular with our videos.

04:12 When did you start as a band?
04:15 And what were the challenges that you faced while starting in the music industry?
04:20 When did you start working together?
04:22 Yes, we started in 2010.
04:25 It was during the college days.
04:27 Shadex, Jefoy, and I were in the same university.
04:31 Nettie was with us.
04:32 And then the others from other schools.
04:34 In Cotabato City, the music industry is small.
04:37 So, every band that was here would get to know each other.
04:41 So, from there, 2010, from small gigs to going to different places,
04:49 we were invited to play in parties, shows, and other private events.
04:58 And then the challenges that we met along the way were before the time.
05:05 Because we had work before, right?
05:09 And then there were people assigned to other places like Shadex.
05:13 So, there was a point where we stopped with our regular gigs because we were focused on work.
05:21 But now, because of this, our passion is music.
05:25 So, we focused on doing more music with our channel and our page.
05:32 And one of the challenges that we experienced was the songs that we were doing covers of.
05:40 Because we couldn't say which songs would click with the people.
05:44 So, we were doing a way to research more about the songs that we could do covers of.
05:52 And aside from that, we also wanted to make our own songs.
05:56 So, that was one of the challenges.
05:58 How to create our own songs, produce our own songs,
06:02 so that at least you can complete the journey as a musician to release your own songs.
