Sperm whale stranded in southern Brazil

People gather on the beach as a sperm whale (Physeter macrocephalus) remains stranded alive in Morro das Pedras beach, Florianopolis, southern Brazil. The specimen, a young adult female, approximately 11 meters long, was found dead on October 2, according to local organization ProFranca Instituto Australis. (Video Courtesy of AFP)
