00:00 It's not even that spicy.
00:04 And my nose is running really bad.
00:08 But it's so nice.
00:12 Yes, that is me eating spicy ramen and not being able to handle the tiny amount of spice that was in it.
00:18 But as always, we are back trying new things and this one was a bit different.
00:22 There is a new restaurant/supermarket opened in Newcastle.
00:27 It's just behind me and it's called JK Supermarket.
00:31 They do Japanese and Korean food.
00:34 So we are going to go in and see what all the fuss is about.
00:37 At the moment, new places are opening up across Newcastle
00:41 that have a variety of different food options from across the world.
00:45 One of those is the JK Supermarket that has just recently opened in Newcastle, just off Northumberland Street.
00:52 The shop sells Korean and Japanese food and drinks including hot food and frozen food to take home.
00:58 I was fascinated by all of the food and drink options and I saw those marble drinks in the fridge that I have seen a lot of.
01:05 You basically pop this small marble into the drink to open it and it took me a lot longer than it should have to figure it out.
01:12 When we first went in, the place was really busy and people seemed to be queuing for something near the back.
01:18 Then we realised that the shop has a ramen noodle station at the back of the store.
01:23 You can buy ramen in store but you can make it and eat it in the shop which is something a bit different.
01:29 So many people were in line to make their own ramen so of course we had to have a go.
01:34 Firstly, you pick your flavour ramen pack from the huge selection they have.
01:38 Some of them you can use in store and others you have to take home but I chose a hot and spicy one.
01:44 You then go up the till and grab your bowl and utensils.
01:47 The instructions are on the wall but I found it easier watching other people do it.
01:51 You basically place your ramen into the bowl and all of the topping packages that come in it.
01:56 You then scan the QR code on the bowl and press on to add your hot water.
02:01 The water will then heat up for around 200 seconds and then your ramen is ready to go.
02:07 So I've got hot and spicy. I don't know if I'm going to regret it. I do like spicy food but you never know.
02:14 I've got to try new things so let's give it a try.
02:17 I'm going to get my hair caught in it.
02:25 That was really nice. It is a bit... got a bit of a kick to it but it's really nice. I'm pretty impressed.
02:32 So after a first experience for me making ramen in a supermarket, I have to say it was a very fun experience and something I would definitely do again.
02:41 Trying a new food is always a fun thing to do and with so many different food options popping up in Newcastle now, it's becoming harder to choose just one place.
02:49 But JK's supermarket seems to be popular with many people and the public were queuing around the store for the ramen station to become free.
02:57 Overall I had a lot of fun making the ramen in store even if I couldn't take the tiny bit of spice.
