00:00 There's a lot of speculation on this, but I just want to reassure people.
00:02 I approach this the same way I approach everything.
00:04 You know, thoughtfully, responsibly, carefully, across the detail, to make the right long-term
00:09 decision for the country.
00:10 You talked about the cost.
00:11 Obviously, look, these are projects that cost everyone watching, taxpayers, tens of billions
00:16 of pounds.
00:17 It's right that we're careful about that.
00:18 I'm seeing at this conference as people are united behind the approach that we're taking.
00:22 But when you say methodical, but I'm prepared to make big, bold decisions, you saw that
00:26 on net zero.
00:27 Of course it was careful, and I went through it, but that was a big decision that I got
00:31 criticism for.
00:32 And when you make big decisions, of course there are going to be people who criticize
00:34 you.
00:35 There are people who are ideological about net zero.
00:37 They think that we should, at any cost to families, get there overnight.
00:40 I don't think that's right.
00:42 So I was prepared to take that on, say that that was wrong, and set out a new course.
