00:00 Artificial technology is the now thing and the future that defines how people work, play, and interact with each other.
00:08 Thus, it behooves the government to invest on AI research and development that aligns with government's best interests.

00:28 the Department of Trade and Industry is also aiming to strengthen its programs using this technology.
00:34 AI technology nowadays is being used to expedite process on online transactions and to fight cyber attacks.
00:43 During the Senate budget hearing, the DTI said they also intend to explore the use of AI technology to help small businesses.
00:52 The goal of course is for us to become an AI center of excellence in the region in the near future.
01:02 It's going to house our data scientists, researchers, engineers who will be conducting AI R&D.
01:13 Around 200 million pesos is needed for this program according to the department.
01:19 However, this was not included in the national expenditure program.
01:23 Senator Loren Legarda meanwhile believes the need is to strengthen AI research and development and host or hold more workshops.

01:42 Meanwhile, Secretary Alfredo Pascual was asked by the media about the price cap on rice.
