00:00 Welcome to Mojo Plays and today we are getting spooky and unpacking 10 Urban Legends in GTA
00:13 games.
00:14 For this list we'll be looking at those creepy and scary myths that players spread online
00:19 regarding any and all GTA entries.
00:22 Whether it was proven to be a hoax or whether players are still theorising to this day,
00:26 as long as it gave us the heebie jeebies at some point, we're gonna chat about it.
00:30 Do you truly believe any of these are real?
00:32 Let us know in the comments below.
00:34 Before we continue, we publish content all week long so be sure to subscribe and ring
00:39 the bell to get notified of our latest videos.
00:43 Eternal Screams
00:51 Imagine finding a gateway to hell that you can't see or touch but you can hear the screams
00:56 that bellow from within its fiery opening.
00:59 Let me introduce you to the Downtown Screams.
01:02 In Grand Theft Auto San Andres there is a collection of benches in the downtown area
01:07 that can be used by pedestrians.
01:09 If you stay around these benches for long enough, you'll eventually hear terrifying
01:13 screams every few seconds which seem to come from below the ground.
01:21 Many players theorised why this occurred.
01:24 Is hell right below this location?
01:26 Was this the site of a mass murder and now haunted area?
01:29 The answer was actually quite simple in the end.
01:33 Below the map was a collection of unused benches.
01:36 NPCs could still spawn on these benches and as they went to stand up, they simply fell
01:41 to the unending blue hell that is underneath San Andres, screaming all the way down.
01:52 The Romero Riddle Rockstar has always been clever with the
01:56 way they fill their world.
01:58 Just like in real life, you are only the main character in your own story, which is why
02:03 Rockstar fills their worlds with stories untold within the main plot or even the side plots.
02:08 Whether it's an NPC's phone call, cleverly designed set dressing or a newspaper article,
02:14 players can create situations and tales in every corner of the map.
02:17 In GTA Vice City, it was Funeraria Romero that began a long list of theories about this
02:23 undertaker shop.
02:25 The Romero name is connected to multiple stores around Vice City.
02:29 With bodies missing limbs in the cemetery of their funeral home, human meat on sale
02:33 at their family owned butcher, manholes in locations near their stores and a meat delivery
02:38 service traversing the city, players have drawn many lines and conclusions that paint
02:43 quite the disturbing picture.
02:46 CJ's Mum's Ghost
02:48 "Stop it! What are you doing? Carl, Ryan, stop it!"
02:51 "Quit it! Mums are here!"
02:56 There may be no bigger GTA game for online ghost/monster/person/creature sighting videos
03:03 than San Andres.
03:05 Many players tried to convince the world that inside CJ's childhood home, the ghost of
03:10 CJ's mum would make an appearance from time to time.
03:13 The theory suggests she would appear at night, occasionally in the living room and walking
03:17 down the stairs, and would sometimes even attack CJ.
03:22 Although many videos went live trying to prove this, none were shown to be authentic beyond
03:26 a reasonable doubt, and the mystery of CJ's ghost mum lives on.
03:31 Or doesn't live on.
03:33 I don't know, she's a ghost.
03:34 The Photographer
03:36 This one is real, and it is substantiated.
03:39 The only problem is we can't work out whether Rockstar put this here on purpose, or whether
03:44 it's just a major glitch.
03:45 The theory revolves around a photographer NPC in GTA San Andres who is apparently suicidal,
03:52 as they can be seen snapping off a few shots and calmly walking into the water and drowning
03:57 themselves.
03:58 Were they taking their final goodbye shots to leave for the next life?
04:02 Were they enjoying their last moments on earth doing what they love?
04:05 Are they secretly a mermaid?
04:07 Who knows.
04:09 Ratman
04:10 This Grand Theft Auto 4 urban legend may be one of the most infamous myths in GTA history,
04:16 but it also has the least amount of evidence of any theory for the series.
04:21 With a few in-game hints that could suggest there is some kind of creature living in the
04:25 sewers of Liberty City, the only evidence to come forth and ignite the theory of the
04:29 Ratman was a picture spread online.
04:32 Of course, there have been bits and pieces dropped since then, but none hit as hard as
04:36 that first Ratman sighting, and we'll always be chasing that dragon, I mean that Ratman.
04:43 Ghost Cars
04:44 Ghost Cars have been a fabric of Grand Theft Auto urban legend with every single entry.
04:50 In almost all of the games, cars can be spotted driving around without anyone in the driver
04:55 seat.
04:56 This has caused players to speculate all throughout the GTA universe there are ghost cars traversing
05:00 the roads and landscapes.
05:02 The most simple explanation is that the NPCs are not popping into existence at that distance,
05:07 and we are simply seeing the cars first.
05:10 But where's the fun in that?
05:11 I say, let's commit to ghost cars and get the Ghosts DLC for GTA Online.
05:16 WHO YOU GONNA CALL?
05:18 GHOST F***ING SH** MOTHERF***ING BUSTERS!
05:27 Cement Shoes
05:29 Sometimes there are just things happening in GTA that have no evidence, no logic and
05:33 no reason.
05:34 These are the most dangerous for urban legends.
05:37 In the deep waters of Grand Theft Auto Vice City, players can spot two men in nothing
05:41 but their underpants and a pair of cement shoes.
05:44 Well, I mean they have big cement blocks attached to their feet, they're not designer or anything.
05:49 To this day, nobody knows who these men are, who they pissed off or why they ended up at
05:53 the bottom of the water.
05:55 But this hasn't stopped players from theorising and connecting them to the various crime families
05:59 seen throughout Vice City.
06:01 The Goatman
06:02 The wolf girl, the swamp monster, GTA V is filled to the brim with references to mythical
06:08 creatures.
06:09 The Goatman refers to a creature found within the game's expansive world.
06:13 And when I say found, I really mean nobody has probably ever actually found this thing.
06:17 The Goatman is characterised by its humanoid goat hybrid appearance, with hooves for feet
06:22 and a horned head.
06:23 Some have reported encountering the Goatman in secluded areas, often in the wilderness
06:28 or remote locations of the game.
06:31 Players have scoured the game files to try and find anything on this figure, but have
06:35 had no such luck.
06:36 Sleuths continue to share video encounters with this wild beast, but nobody has managed
06:41 to catch the damn thing.
06:45 Who knows, I mean Bigfoot does appear in the game.
06:48 Bigfoot.
06:49 Arguably, the most famous urban legend of the GTA series is Bigfoot.
07:02 I remember myself spending days strolling the hills of Grand Theft Auto San Andres,
07:07 keeping my eyes peeled in an attempt to spot the famous Sasquatch.
07:11 Unfortunately I didn't get so much as a Bigfoot poop.
07:15 Players have been circulating online for as long as the game has been around, and it wasn't
07:20 until GTA 5 when we actually got our first look at Bigfoot, with the incredibly well
07:24 hidden and fun mission The Last One.
07:27 But players persist in trying to get footage of the beast, still said to be wandering the
07:32 mountains of San Andres on our PS2's.
07:37 Aliens.
07:38 Aliens have been a point of talk in pretty much every GTA game.
07:54 With the series being wacky and wild even in its calmest moments, it's not that hard
07:58 to believe they are hidden in every entry.
08:01 GTA 5 takes the prize for the most references to aliens of any entry though.
08:06 From the alien frozen below the lake, to missions involving direct interaction with aliens both
08:11 in real life and in hallucinations, extraterrestrials are expected to exist within the games world.
08:17 Even the undying mystery that is the Mount Chiliad mural seems to suggest that aliens
08:22 are involved in the game somehow.
08:24 If the player manages to 100% the game, they can actually have interactions with unidentified
08:28 flying objects.
08:29 Does this mean we need to go back to previous entries and look a little harder?
08:34 Because I'm ready to get CJ abducted.
08:48 Thanks for watching.
