Amidst the raging fires in the Bega Valley of NSW, a TikToker posted a video showing her and her family leading horses to safety.

00:00 Here we go again, we've just gotten upgraded to an emergency bushfire warning.
00:04 That about an hour ago was Watchenak and 35 to 40 k's away.
00:08 Now it is 15 k's and they are evacuating the camping area next door.
00:13 So we're up the road where we lease a place for our horses and we are bringing the horses
00:18 from up the back bush paddocks in closer.
00:20 We are putting them all in paddocks close to the road where we can bring them home if
00:24 it gets to that point.
00:25 In 2019 the area had serious fires and we were one of the lucky spots that didn't burn
00:30 which now has left us in a position where we have a whole lot of fuel in the bush surrounded
00:34 by National Park.
00:35 So at the sight of smoke billowing up into the sky we were all quite triggered.
00:40 Here we have a couple more gates to change around and horses to move and check.
00:43 Then we're heading back home to prepare things there for a worst case scenario which is trucking
00:47 the stallions home and bringing all the horses down the road in one big mob.
00:53 And we then keep them in a paddock next to the lake ready to run into the lake if we
00:59 have to.
01:00 If you've been watching our TikToks you will notice that all our horses get prepared to
01:03 go into the lake.
01:04 We have all the foals in there.
01:06 They were all good with going into the lake.
01:08 The road we bring them down is about a k, a bit more maybe.
01:11 We did do this in the 2019 fire except it was 10 o'clock in the morning when we rode
01:15 out and bright red then pitch black with stuff falling from the sky.
01:19 It doesn't get to that.
