00:00 This time on Roadkill, we took all the gold chain out of the Corvette.
00:04 We proved that with the right make under, even a C4 Corvette can look good.
00:08 [MUSIC]
00:18 [SOUND]
00:45 If I wait long enough, I can usually fulfill one of my automotive dreams, and
00:50 this episode is that.
00:52 Like five years ago, Finnegan's very first story for Hot Rod Magazine was when we
00:56 took this C4 Corvette and cut the body off of it.
00:59 We cut 900 pounds off this thing and proved it would be faster in the autocross.
01:04 But what I always wanted to do was cage it up and
01:07 just make it a wicked handling machine.
01:09 We're finally gonna do it.
01:10 And Continental Tire hooked this up with a Lingenfelter Corvette so
01:13 we can have a shootout at the same time.
01:15 [MUSIC]
01:17 The back story on this car is that it's an 85 C4 Corvette that was left for
01:22 dead in the desert and flooded.
01:24 It had that worthless Crossfire 350 V8 in it.
01:27 But what made this one pretty cool is that it had a manual transmission,
01:31 which is a four speed with a Doug Nash add on overdrive on the back.
01:34 We cut this thing up until it only weighed 2,350 pounds and
01:39 it's been sitting ever since.
01:42 It got wasted, it got rain down the engine, there was weeds growing through it.
01:46 Our junk was junk, just turned to dust.
01:51 And so we took one of our shop guys and
01:52 sent him to stripping every bit of plastic off the car.
01:56 We gutted this thing all the way down to the bare frame.
01:58 So now we're gonna throw a little bit of money and
02:02 a whole lot of parts we have laying around at this thing to see if we can make it
02:05 handle just a little bit better.
02:06 We're gonna have to do everything to the car.
02:08 All that's left is the stuff that performs.
02:11 No more Guido.
02:12 The old 350 was all seized up, so we pulled that out and
02:16 we put in a new engine that I had sitting around.
02:19 The motor here is the Marshmallow Mouse, or the White Trash.
02:23 It's a bone stock junkyard 91 truck bottom end.
02:27 It's got some World Products 170cc iron heads on it.
02:30 Comp Camp's Thumper Cam, and of course the Tunnel Ram and Zoomies.
02:33 And it made 350 horsepower and 360 pound feet of torque.
02:37 It's no fire breather here, but it was sitting around and it was cheap.
02:41 And it's ludicrous, and we're hoping to death that these Zoomies actually clear
02:45 the brake booster.
02:46 This Zoomie is gonna be a drag.
02:48 Little saw's all might fix it.
02:50 There we go.
02:51 Like a glove.
02:55 So EBC Brakes has a pretty good sense of humor,
02:57 cuz they were willing to help us out with this thing.
02:59 We actually got sponsorship for this piece of junk.
03:02 And what's cool is that they're an English company.
03:04 They make really high end rotors like this one.
03:07 And they agree with me that stuff like slotted rotors really doesn't do that
03:11 much.
03:12 They put this slot in here because a lot of the aftermarket rotors that just have
03:15 the dots cut in them will actually groove the pad.
03:18 And they're like, this is there to keep the pad face flat.
03:22 This is the standard operating procedure for road kill,
03:24 putting way too nice of parts on a way too junkier car.
03:28 That master cylinder's in good shape.
03:29 This thing sat outside for so long since we did the original hack that it pretty
03:33 much just decomposed.
03:35 Anything plastic on it turned to dust.
03:37 Okay, ready for the Zoomy moment of truth?
03:39 Fail.
03:43 Manual booster is all we need.
03:45 Even on road kill, do we want to sacrifice brake performance for
03:48 having Zoomy?
03:49 Cuz this is far more critical than brakes.
03:52 I was really wishy-washy about the headers.
03:54 First we had the Zoomy's which were really cool, but
03:56 they melted the master cylinder.
03:58 Then we had the pulling headers that stuck straight up in the air, but
04:01 those melted the alternator.
04:02 This literally says, I'm going to a tractor pool and
04:05 I borrowed the wheels off my dad's Chevelle.
04:07 And ultimately, we just put some short tight tubes on it and
04:10 dumped the exhaust straight out the side.
04:12 I was really starting to fall in love with the overall shape of the Corvette, and
04:15 I didn't want the visual protrusion of those headers.
04:19 So this is gonna look much cooler.
04:20 Did you just say you fell in love with the shape of a Corvette?
04:23 Yeah, but look at it.
04:24 This is a new milestone we're hitting right here.
04:26 However, this is now less Corvette and more- Road kill.
04:31 Yeah, so here's part of our plan.
04:33 We're trying not to spend a ton of money on this deal.
04:35 And even though we don't have fenders on it,
04:37 which means we could have put 12 inch wide wheels on this, we didn't do that.
04:41 We are gonna get rid of our 16 by 8.5 stock wheels and a set of dry rotted BFGs.
04:47 Those are gonna go away.
04:49 And we had this set of 17 by 9s laying around,
04:52 which are a half inch wider and an inch taller.
04:55 And we've got a set of 285/40/17 Continental Extreme Contact tires.
05:01 They're wider, they're lower profile, there'll be less sidewall deflection here.
05:05 This thing should handle a little bit better.
05:10 But in an effort to save as much weight as we could,
05:13 we ripped out every ounce of wiring in that Corvette.
05:17 And we're gonna replace just what we need with a universal switch panel and
05:21 switches, because that small block Chevy has a ready to run distributor and
05:26 an alternator.
05:27 So we just have to pick one of many holes to run this through.
05:32 There isn't much else on there that needs powering.
05:34 So other than lights, we don't need a lot of wiring in this car.
05:39 Fewer things to go wrong.
05:40 This panel's really nice, cuz we got an open top car here and
05:43 it's probably gonna get rained on.
05:45 Everything's got a condom on it to keep the moisture out.
05:47 And it even has circuit breakers.
05:50 We never have circuit breakers.
05:52 This is already nicer than almost everything we've ever built.
05:54 [MUSIC]
05:57 A couple of days into the build, we realized there was no way we were gonna
06:01 get a roll cage built on this car in time to test it.
06:04 And so we sent it out to have the tubes bent up by Josh at Lucas Fab in
06:07 Huntington Beach.
06:08 And he brought the car back to us unwelded so that we could finish it up.
06:11 But before we could even get the thing back off our ramp truck, I broke it.
06:16 It just stuck.
06:17 No.
06:18 >> You just broke it?
06:19 >> No, it just stuck on.
06:20 Try and roll it, it won't roll.
06:22 [LAUGH]
06:24 [SOUND]
06:25 >> Oops.
06:26 Yeah, in true roadkill fashion, I figured the handbrake was gonna work.
06:29 But when I pulled it, it locked up the rear tires and was not gonna let go.
06:33 So we had another couple of hours of work to do before we could ever begin to start
06:37 welding up the roll cage.
06:38 [MUSIC]
06:39 Look at all this cheating going on with other people working on it.
06:42 I feel dirty.
06:44 >> Let's be honest, you and I would never have built that cage in three days.
06:47 >> I know.
06:48 >> Three weeks, maybe.
06:50 And it probably would have been crooked.
06:51 >> I wonder if it got impounded.
06:53 Would we ever get it back?
06:56 Would it be a fix it ticket?
06:57 Would it just be- >> Well, we wouldn't get impounded,
06:59 it'd be a fix it ticket.
07:00 >> I think it would get impounded.
07:01 >> Every time I've ever got a noise ticket, they never impounded the car.
07:04 It was just- >> Yeah, but.
07:05 [LAUGH]
07:06 >> The only violations we have right now are no fenders and it'll be too loud.
07:11 It'll have belts, it'll have lights, it'll have a window.
07:14 >> Did you see I ordered a horn?
07:15 >> It'll have a horn.
07:16 >> I got an air horn.
07:17 >> Nice.
07:18 >> Turn signals?
07:20 >> Doesn't have turn signals.
07:21 >> Arms.
07:21 >> Arms.
07:22 >> I'll have those.
07:23 Got a rear view, got a side view.
07:24 >> Yeah, we're the model of legality.
07:26 >> If you close your eyes, on paper, it's legal.
07:28 Just tell the officer that.
07:30 Officer, just close your eyes and let me tell you all the equipment we have.
07:33 >> You know how normally speed stickers make your car go faster?
07:36 These make your car brake.
07:38 Ooh, tail lights.
07:39 >> Like that?
07:40 >> Yeah.
07:41 >> Like that?
07:42 >> Look at that.
07:43 That is like the rocket thruster.
07:45 You don't need a brake light switch, you just need to touch the wire to something
07:48 every time you want to drive.
07:49 Stopping now.
07:50 That is awesome.
07:52 >> Yeah, those are pretty good.
07:52 >> That is the best part of this car.
07:53 >> How about we make it run?
07:56 >> Ready?
07:57 [SOUND]
08:02 >> Advanced, or did you just let off?
08:03 [SOUND]
08:07 >> Woo hoo.
08:08 >> Okay.
08:08 [LAUGH]
08:10 >> Who wired that?
08:11 [LAUGH]
08:13 >> So, check the firing order.
08:14 >> Yep.
08:15 >> It's one off.
08:17 This is number one, it's pointed at number eight.
08:20 Okay, so we just need to rotate everything.
08:22 [SOUND]
08:32 >> Good to go.
08:36 It smokes a little.
08:37 [LAUGH]
08:39 This is one of the better things we've done.
08:41 As bad as this looks, there's really not that much butchery.
08:44 >> We're starting a trend with this.
08:46 People are going to do this.
08:47 >> Junk buggies.
08:47 >> No, vet buggies.
08:49 The vet cart.
08:50 >> We could start a really unsafe racing series with these.
08:54 >> What's unsafe about it?
08:56 >> We need to go around the block.
08:56 [SOUND]
09:05 >> It's working.
09:06 [SOUND]
09:08 >> How's the power steering?
09:09 >> Two fingers.
09:11 [SOUND]
09:13 >> Oh man, this thing's going to be fun.
09:15 [SOUND]
09:21 >> Ah, getting dirt in the eye, how about you?
09:23 >> Wow, the brakes are exceptional.
09:25 >> I bet they are.
09:26 [LAUGH]
09:28 [SOUND]
09:38 >> Oh my goodness.
09:39 >> You're getting dirt in your eye?
09:40 >> Yeah, I can't see.
09:42 And the brakes want to put me through what would be the windshield if we had one.
09:46 >> That's a good reason not to have one.
09:47 [SOUND]
09:56 >> Wow, it's quick.
09:58 Definitely quick.
10:00 >> Look at all the smoke.
10:02 >> It needs a little tune up.
10:03 >> Yeah. >> And an alignment.
10:04 [SOUND]
10:09 >> It's getting burnt out.
10:10 >> It's a 5 hundred.
10:11 [LAUGH]
10:13 >> That's good for now.
10:14 >> It's kind of loud.
10:16 You have oil on your face.
10:17 >> Ah.
10:18 [LAUGH]
10:19 [SOUND]
10:22 >> That's a big oil leak, look at that.
10:24 >> That was so much fun.
10:25 >> That's like a funeral pyre.
10:27 >> Is there even a gasket in there?
10:28 >> Probably not.
10:29 >> Because your marshmallow white motor is no longer white.
10:33 >> After all the cutting, welding, fabricating, wiring, and engine swapping,
10:37 this car ended up weighing a little over 2,100 pounds.
10:41 And under 2,600 pounds with both Freiburger and I in it.
10:44 >> Here's the coolest thing about our job.
10:47 Not only do we get to build garbage and have fun with it, but
10:50 we get to influence important people to actually help us out.
10:54 And we're gonna get to drive this 640 horse brand new Corvette.
10:58 We got hooked up with this thing from the guys at Continental Tire because
11:01 Continental's the official tire of Lingenfelter.
11:03 And of course, we're friends with Mike Copeland over there.
11:06 So it just all turns into beautiful 640 horsepower goodness.
11:09 So basically we went through all this just to be able to drive
11:14 a Lingenfelter Corvette.
11:16 >> It's totally worth it.
11:17 >> What we need to ask them for is a great motor.
11:20 >> Yeah, because 700 horsepower is really what you want in this.
11:24 >> Yeah, you don't?
11:26 We're here.
11:28 Yes.
11:29 [MUSIC]
11:39 >> Shut the engine off.
11:47 [LAUGH]
11:50 So the deal on this, nobody would loan us a regular stock Corvette, imagine that.
11:54 So I call Lingenfelter, we need to borrow a Corvette.
11:57 We're gonna be racing against that, so we want the least power you can make.
12:00 But Copeland doesn't speak that language.
12:03 So this thing makes 640.
12:05 It has a Edelbrock blower on it, 6.5 PSI, Cook's headers, Corsa exhaust,
12:09 Continental tires, and a Lingenfelter body kit.
12:11 Other than that, stock.
12:12 >> That doesn't sound stock at all.
12:15 Okay, so it's got almost twice the horsepower, but
12:18 weighs about 2,000 pounds more.
12:21 >> Yeah, twice as much horsepower, but I was hoping it was twice the weight so
12:25 that the power for weight ratio would be the same.
12:27 But it's not, this still has the advantage on that.
12:30 >> What does this weigh?
12:31 >> I don't know, what's it weigh, 3,600?
12:33 >> I'll tell you after I drive it, I can tell these things.
12:35 >> Okay.
12:36 >> Automatically. >> You're gonna sense that?
12:37 [MUSIC]
12:39 First thing that we needed to do was take some test laps in the brand new C7.
12:42 [MUSIC]
12:46 >> My God, that is good.
12:49 These are great cars if you can be seen in them.
12:51 Imagine 30 years from now us cutting one of these apart and roll caging it.
12:56 That would be good.
12:58 How roadkill do you feel right now?
13:00 >> Well, we made that amazing thing there.
13:02 It's osmosis.
13:04 >> We deserve this.
13:05 >> Yeah, we deserve this because we put in the hours on that.
13:07 That's the way I look at it.
13:09 All right.
13:12 >> So we have to decide which course we're gonna take.
13:16 >> Dude, this is great.
13:17 >> It might have a little bit of power.
13:18 >> This is great.
13:20 This is an easy car to drive.
13:21 [MUSIC]
13:25 It is designed for people like us who know nothing.
13:27 [MUSIC]
13:34 >> Shifting at 7 grand is awesome.
13:36 >> This thing is a really great car.
13:39 [MUSIC]
13:41 Suit up, I'll ride along and we'll time from inside the car just like Charger at
13:45 the rally school.
13:46 >> Suit up for me will consist of just putting a helmet on because I forgot
13:49 my suit.
13:49 >> You're driving so I'm gonna have a fire suit.
13:51 >> Yeah.
13:51 >> So.
13:52 >> All right.
13:53 >> We will set the bar with the Lingenfelter.
13:55 >> Okay. >> And then shimmy underneath it with
13:57 our back.
13:57 [MUSIC]
14:07 >> This is an awesome car.
14:10 Anyone can get in here.
14:11 And you can crash this, but it's really difficult.
14:15 [MUSIC]
14:20 Dude, I twist this knob one more click and we're dead.
14:22 [LAUGH]
14:24 [MUSIC]
14:34 [SOUND]
14:44 >> 135.65.
14:56 I have no idea what a good lap is here.
14:59 >> I don't either.
14:59 >> That probably wasn't it.
15:01 >> Now, there were definitely room for improvement there.
15:06 >> Well, I'd like to say I can improve on that, but
15:08 I'm not gonna say that until I actually drive it.
15:11 >> I think you can.
15:12 That was not my finest work.
15:14 >> I need to break out the excuses now.
15:16 See, he had six laps, five warm ups and a race.
15:19 I'm gonna have two, one warm up and a race.
15:21 >> So that means if I lose, I look even worse.
15:24 Thanks for throwing that out there.
15:26 >> This ends the whining portion of the program.
15:28 Ready?
15:30 >> That hurt.
15:31 >> I'm air conditioning my butt right now.
15:33 >> Really, you have seat AC?
15:35 >> Yeah.
15:36 >> Wow.
15:37 >> That feels good.
15:38 >> How do I air condition my butt?
15:39 Here we go.
15:39 [MUSIC]
15:49 >> Boy.
15:57 [MUSIC]
16:02 Thank you Chevrolet for saving me.
16:04 I really appreciate all the work you put into the new Corvette.
16:08 Because David's trying to kill me.
16:09 [MUSIC]
16:15 Did the tires do something wrong to you?
16:18 [LAUGH]
16:20 You were punishing them.
16:21 [MUSIC]
16:26 >> Whoa.
16:27 [MUSIC]
16:30 >> This is gonna be close.
16:33 [MUSIC]
16:36 130.
16:37 [MUSIC]
16:43 You beat me.
16:44 134.50.
16:46 Winning.
16:48 And it was a mess.
16:50 >> I spent most of the time that side just going clink, clink, clink.
16:55 The Corvette's not built for a helmet.
16:57 David kicked my butt by half a second in the C7.
17:00 So we hopped in the go-kart.
17:01 And on the warm-up lap, I found out just how good those EBC brakes work.
17:05 [LAUGH]
17:10 >> Saw that coming.
17:11 >> That happened fast.
17:13 >> That's just tapping the brakes, right?
17:14 >> Yep.
17:15 [MUSIC]
17:24 [LAUGH]
17:25 [MUSIC]
17:35 For what it is, the go-kart is light, it is nimble, it accelerates good,
17:52 it turns pretty well, the tires are good.
17:54 We had a few more laps, or a few more hours, or a few more wrenches.
17:58 This would be a pretty awesome race car.
18:00 [MUSIC]
18:10 [LAUGH]
18:12 >> Five seconds slower than the Lingenfelter.
18:15 >> Not bad.
18:16 I'm a fan.
18:17 >> Really? >> I'm totally a fan.
18:18 This has so much potential.
18:20 But the issues are that you tap the brakes and it wants to come around.
18:23 >> You have to completely drive different.
18:25 You can't barrel into a corner and then lay into the brakes.
18:27 >> I'm sure.
18:28 >> It just wants to spin out.
18:29 But it handles good.
18:33 >> Really? >> Yeah, it steers really good.
18:35 It's really not that loose.
18:36 It's the perfect amount of power for what it is right now, I think.
18:40 >> Yeah.
18:40 >> The first couple times around, I was spooked.
18:43 I was like, this thing's gonna kill me, my arm's gonna come out the side.
18:46 >> Right.
18:46 >> You know, we're gonna flip it.
18:47 But once you spin it out, and you realize it's not tipping over.
18:50 >> Look at all the oil on your helmet.
18:52 >> Yeah, we've got something happening over here.
18:54 >> There's a hole in the valve cover maybe.
18:56 >> That's just rust prevention, as far as I'm concerned.
18:58 It's not on the tires, so it's safe.
18:59 >> So, I had confidence in the new Corvette saving me from myself.
19:04 >> [LAUGH] >> I don't have that here.
19:07 >> I think your sense of self-preservation will really just kick in.
19:10 >> Yeah, this thing lets me be as stupid as I wanna be, and
19:13 I don't wanna be that stupid in it.
19:14 >> What's your level of fear right now?
19:19 >> Yeah, I don't trust you, I really don't.
19:21 So I'm about a nine.
19:22 I'm just gonna hold on to these.
19:24 [MUSIC]
19:41 >> You know, the thing is, the whole vent hack idea could be legitimate.
19:46 [MUSIC]
19:51 Stripping a C4 down to its bare bones and caging it, this thing only weighs 2,100
19:56 pounds.
19:57 You could science out the suspension on this, give it some more horsepower.
20:01 Imagine a Lingenfilter crate motor in this car.
20:03 It would destroy all, and
20:05 it would be an actual threat at a time attack event anywhere.
20:09 [MUSIC]
20:19 >> Dude, 135.50.
20:37 >> So I matched my time.
20:39 Pretty much.
20:40 Not bad.
20:41 And I pretty much was in third gear the whole time cuz I can't shift it.
20:45 >> Yeah.
20:47 Imagine if you had a shifter.
20:49 >> Wow, I can't get it in any gear.
20:54 >> Maybe that's a sign.
20:55 >> Yeah, really.
20:56 >> [LAUGH] >> We got no clutch.
21:00 >> Maybe that was the fluid.
21:02 >> Probably, yeah.
21:03 >> Kill it.
21:04 >> We're done.
21:05 >> [LAUGH] >> Bye bye.
21:08 >> No, it didn't kill it.
21:10 Our safety measures failed.
21:12 >> I'll get it.
21:13 >> That's cuz of this.
21:14 >> Yeah.
21:15 >> Wow, good thing we didn't need that in a hurry.
21:18 >> [LAUGH] >> I feel like I could drive the thing
21:21 better.
21:22 >> Yeah, right?
21:22 >> It's not bad.
21:23 >> No, it's- >> You're right,
21:24 it needs throttle response, and it needs a shifter.
21:27 >> Yeah.
21:27 >> And you could actually be somebody with this.
21:29 >> This is a good piece of machinery right here.
21:31 >> Our day has ended because we have clutch fluid spraying all over us, and
21:35 I've got no clutch.
21:36 So I did all of that in third gear and matched my time in the Lingenfelter car.
21:41 Actually a second slower, I ran 135 instead of 134.
21:44 >> You matched my time.
21:45 >> I matched your time in the Lingenfelter.
21:47 >> Yeah, so- >> We're on to something.
21:49 >> 640 horsepower in the Lingenfelter.
21:51 >> Yeah. >> 300-ish here.
21:53 No electronic bells and whistles, just your right and left foot saving you.
21:56 Okay, so what's that Lingenfelter car probably cost?
21:59 >> I know. >> 70k probably?
22:01 >> Yep. >> There's 10 grand here.
22:02 >> I just wanna do donuts.
22:03 I'm gonna fire it up in gear and do donuts.
22:05 And I'd like to personally thank the good folks at Continental for
22:08 making amazing tires and pretty damn amazing tires,
22:11 both of which we're going to destroy right now.
22:14 [MUSIC]
22:24 >> Uh-oh.
22:25 [MUSIC]
22:35 [SOUND]
22:45 [MUSIC]
22:55 [SOUND]
23:05 [MUSIC]
23:15 >> Okay, it's dead.
23:34 >> Okay.
23:36 >> Another car being pushed.
23:37 >> We broke it after all.
23:39 No matter how many parts we remove from a vehicle, we can break whatever's left.
23:44 >> Obviously, the go-kart can hang with the Lingenfelter car on the pavement, but
23:48 this is roadkill, so we gotta bring it up a notch.
23:50 >> So we decided to throw a clutch in it, put a windshield in it, and
23:53 hit the highway.
23:55 >> And go see how well this thing works in the dirt.
23:57 >> Yeah, like a factory.
23:59 [SOUND]
24:07 >> I don't like intersections because it gives more opportunity for
24:09 a cop to drive by.
24:10 [SOUND]
24:13 >> Yeah, what?
24:14 [LAUGH]
24:16 >> You should have leaned these seats back.
24:17 [SOUND]
24:20 >> What?
24:21 >> Yeah.
24:22 >> Yeah.
24:22 >> Yeah.
24:23 [SOUND]
24:25 >> This thing handles good.
24:26 [SOUND]
24:34 >> Ah, traffic.
24:35 [SOUND]
24:42 >> No problem.
24:43 [SOUND]
24:46 >> Right?
24:46 [SOUND]
24:48 >> Yeah.
24:49 [SOUND]
24:54 >> Still gas.
24:55 [SOUND]
24:59 >> What'd you say?
25:01 >> You smell gas?
25:04 >> Yeah.
25:05 >> Okay.
25:06 [SOUND]
25:16 >> Probably check that.
25:21 [SOUND]
25:27 >> Driving on the highway in this thing is pretty hilarious.
25:30 I expected everybody to be staring and pointing at cutting us off, but no.
25:34 This is LA prime time traffic.
25:37 No one blinked an eye.
25:38 [SOUND]
25:46 >> When we got out to the desert,
25:48 things were going way too smoothly until road kill kicked in.
25:51 The car sputtered and died.
25:53 We pulled over to the side of the road and
25:54 it turned out our electric fuel pump was roached.
25:57 [SOUND]
26:00 >> Maybe we can get a stick or
26:01 something so you can reach back and just hit it.
26:03 >> That's a great idea.
26:04 [SOUND]
26:05 >> Hit it with a bottle of water.
26:06 [SOUND]
26:13 >> Is it working?
26:14 >> No.
26:14 [LAUGH]
26:17 >> Okay.
26:19 >> Working?
26:19 >> Yep.
26:20 >> Okay.
26:20 [SOUND]
26:30 [MUSIC]
26:40 [SOUND]
26:50 [MUSIC]
27:00 [SOUND]
27:10 >> Bacon?
27:29 >> It's a little dusty.
27:31 I'm gonna save myself for dinner in Palmdale.
27:33 >> Yeah, you know, a lot of people go there for the food.
27:36 >> This thing is so much like a Baja Bug, it's ridiculous.
27:42 It's lightweight, it's got independent rear suspension,
27:44 great flotation cuz it doesn't weigh anything.
27:47 The thing just blasted dirt roads, but
27:49 I had to find out, could it handle a rocky hill climb?
27:53 [MUSIC]
28:03 >> Yeah, go, come on.
28:12 [MUSIC]
28:22 [LAUGH]
28:25 >> That was cool.
28:26 Let's see your Lingenfilter Corvette do that right there.
28:29 >> We failed not bringing it.
28:30 When we get pulled over and the cop goes, you know why I pulled you over?
28:33 And they go, exhibition of greatness.
28:35 >> Yeah.
28:35 >> Okay.
28:38 >> Gunshots.
28:39 >> All right, time to go.
28:40 [SOUND]
28:51 >> I'd like to see Fred try that one on dirt every day.
28:55 Honestly, I don't even know why Continental makes off-road tires.
28:58 Mark this day in history, boys and girls.
29:00 This is the first time a Corvette's ever climbed a mountain.
29:03 Road kill.
29:05 >> This is like a hill with some rocks on it.
29:06 [LAUGH]
29:07 >> I don't care, I'm taking it.
29:08 >> Don't care.
29:08 Nobody does this.
29:09 Let's go.
29:10 [SOUND]
29:15 >> Shift is overrated.
29:17 [SOUND]
29:19 >> Try to avoid that, it really hurts.
29:20 >> Sorry.
29:22 >> You wanted to go off-road.
29:25 >> You don't know Ken Lingenfilter personally and realize that-
29:27 >> I could have wrecked it and
29:28 Ken would have said okay.
29:29 So that's why I drove like an absolute moron.
29:31 [SOUND]
29:34 >> That was really good.
29:35 [LAUGH]
